Most of the patients that were coming in from the other parts of the ship started to come at a higher rate. Probably from the systems being restored. They had a lot of dehydration and hypothermia. Bumps, bruises, lacerations, broken bones vertigo and at least one case of of a concussion.

“Okay, people, back to work!” Odraavi called out, when the arrival of new patients began to incrase. “TeWhiti, get to mending those bruises, broken bones and lacerations, grab one or two others to help you; remember, the worst come first. NE Stocker and NLtJG Johnson, I need you on dehydration; NLt T’Lyr and NE Brox, on hypothermia– make sure they have blankets and even after treatment.” She ran down the list of the present medical officials, before grabbing another tricorder and heading to assist one of the worse off patients.

Dr. Odraavi
CMO

Aroha paused, rag in hand, as the CMO called out a new set of orders. She quickly gave it to her most recent patient, and then made eye contact with another Ensign and gave them a nod. Sickbay was really bustling now, between all the new patients and the medical staff jumping to fill Odraavi’s orders. As Aroha made her way across the room to the new arivals were coming in, she passed off her bucket of wet rags to NE Stocker since they were on dehydration.

“Worst come first,” Aroha said to NE Anderson who had come over to help her, “That means any injuries that are life threatening, head and severe gut wounds and any children,” making sure that Anderson was in agreement with her. She scanned her eyes over the new comer patients and quickly chose someone. Pulling out her tricorder to scan them feeling a sense of familiarity pass over her. She’d been treating bruises and broken bones since she’d decided she wanted to be a doctor, and with six other siblings, four of them boys she’d had her pick of patients to experiment on.

Ensign TeWhiti
Doctor

Once she had cut the comms with the manager of the Mystique, Odraavi knew it was only a matter of time before she needed to be there. Handing her patient over to one of the nurses, in order to keep him stable, she rushed to the back wall, quickly gathering a medkit, which she added essential supplies into. Slinging it over her shoulder, she snagged a tricorder from an unoccupied table beside a biobed, where a young Romulan Doctor was nursing a woman back from some nasty abrasions to her forehead and eye. With a rushed albeit concise sweep of the Sickbay, she caught sight of the good Doctor, wasting no time in crossing the room towards her.

“TeWhiti!” Odraavi called out, passing the opposing doctor. “Medical has been called to the promenade; it looks like it could be a bit of a disaster, I’m not sure yet. While I’m gone, you’re in charge. Keep the triage going and contact me if ANYTHING goes wrong. There is only one patient up there, and we’re looking at several.” Clapping her shoulder, Odraavi adjusted the medkit, quickly making her way from the Sickbay and towards the promenade. TeWhiti was now in charge.

Odraavi
CMO

Chandel listened to the CMO give her orders to TeWhiti and nodded to the other doctor as she continued to help where she could.

Counselor Chandel

Aroha didn’t pause the scan she was taking of the current patient she was treating but she gave a crisp “Yes sir,” to show that she understood and acknowledged. Under ordinary circumstances she might have gotten a excited at being put in charge, but in their current situation she was too distracted with the work she had to do to think much of it. Although she was greatful to see that the Counselor was there, and she returned Chandels nod with a smile. Before her attention was drawn back to the information coming through on her tricorder - a few minor lacturations - and she resumed her work healing the lacturations.

A small child of maybe 3 or four, approached Aroha while she was working “Please can you help Bugsie?’ she asked tugging lightly on Aroha’s sleeve. Pausing her work, Aroha looked at the child seeing that ‘Bugsie’ was a grey stuffed bunny. “He’s bleeding,” the child said, pointing to where there was a patch of blood on in the bunnies fur, although Aroha doubted that the blood was actually coming from the bunny itself, and her eyes quickly found the culprit. The child had a nasty wound on her arm and the blood was dripping down onto the bunny in her arms. “Let’s have a look,” Aroha said reaching for the wounded arm, almost immediately the child pulled away and let out a wail. “Not me bugsie!” she cried, “Bugsie is hurt, see,” she pointed to the blood patch on the bunny.

“You’re hurt too,” Aroha tried again, “Let me have a look at you and then we can look at Bunny together.” But the child only shook her head and cried harder, her small arms flailing at Aroha when she tried to reach out, “I don’t want to be looked at. It’s BUGSIE that’s hurting. Why won’t you help bugsie? Youre a bad doctor,” Taking a deep breath, Aroha crouched down until she was a similar height to the child, clearly she was in shock of some kind, but this wasn’t something they trained you to deal with at the Acadamy and Aroha was feeling a little at loss for what to do. “I’m only trained to heal people, and bugsie is a bunny,” she said gently, looking around until her eyes rested on the Counselor, “But if you see that woman over there,” she pointed at Chandel “She might be able to help bugsie” and you she thought quietly to herself. “Oh-okay,” the child sniffled, letting Aroha shepheard her over to where the Counselor was working.

Ens. Tewhiti
Doctor

Chandel was just finishing up with her current patient when Tewhiti approached with the child. She took in the situation at a glance and nodded to Tewhiti before she knelt down to the girl’s height. “Hello, did I hear you say that Bugsie is hurt? Why don’t you and Bugsie come over here and I will help him.” Offering her hand to the child she led her over to a spare bed with a stool in front of it. “Climb up here and put Bugsie on the bed and I will care for him.” Pulling over a tray while the crying child did as she asked, Chandel ran her medical tricorder over the bear’s arm before nodding solemnly.

“Ah yes, he has a wound on his arm here.” She said very seriously to the child. Turning she set down the tricorder and picked up a dermal regenerator and ran it over the wound. She ran it over slowly back and forth. Once that was completed she took some steri gauze and cleaned the area before wrapping it carefully in bandages.

“There we go. Now Bugsie tells me that you have an injury on your arm too and since this didn’t hurt him at all that you should let look at your arm too. Will you let me look at it?” She asked giving the little girl the courtesy of agreeing to be treated. The little girl looked solemnly back at her before nodding.

Chandel carefully ran the tricorder over the girl’s arm and noted that the girl’s injury was just a nasty contusion but it hadn’t gone too deep. She ran a micro-suture over it to knit the inner tissue together before applying the dermal regenerator to seal the wound. She then carefully cleaned the girl’s arm.
“There, you and Bugsie are all better! What’s your name, honey and where are your parents?” She asked in concern thinking that a child as young as this shouldn’t have been wandering around all alone.

Counselor Chandel

“Emma,” the girl whispered clutching Bugsie to her chest, her eyes were still watery, and her face red, but now she was no longer crying. “Mama is w-working, and I was hungry but then Daddy got stung,” she sniffled, “I got lost an-and then Bugsie got hurt. I came here cause you heal Bugsie,” and she burst into a fresh bunch of tears telling the nice officer her story. “I w-w-want my Daddy,”

Emma
Child

Chandel frowned in concern.”Your daddy? Where was he when he got hurt, honey?” She asked in concern.

Counselor Chandel

“He got stung,” Emma repeated, “In our quaters,” although with the way she said it it sounded more like ‘waters’. She sniffled again, wiping her hand on the sleeve of her dress.
