Max’s transport from the Challenger was uneventful. He had been anxious with anticipation at arriving at his first duty station. Despite his eagerness he was caught unprepared as the shuttle docked at the Starbase Magellan. He had been fiddling with the case presented him by the Captain of the Challenger, formerly containing the ensign pip he now wore on his collar. It now contained the insignia he wore up until very recently, that of a cadet first class. He had been turning it over in his hand, opening it and looking inside and was jolted back to reality at the slight rumble of the shuttle docking. He proceeded directly to sickbay, seeking directions along the way as needed. Upon arriving he stopped the first person who appeared to work there.
“Hello, I’m Dr. Woolley. I’ve just been assigned here. Can you please direct me to the CMO?” he asked. Of course, he would also need a physical and had other check ins to make. But he would be feeling quite a bit more at home once he was able to fully digest his new workplace and meet his new superior.

OOC: Welcome to the Magellan!
IC: “The Chief?” A young crewman asked, a glimmer of concentration assuming his pale eyes. Glancing around the bay, he murmured to himself. He was relatively new to the Starbase, and still was trying to figure out the oddity of Odraavi’s ways. Eventually he would grasp it, but for right now, he was at more a loss than ever. “I cannot say for sure, she’s kind of a nomad when it comes to the Sickbay.” He admitted, shrugging his shoulders.
“Your best bet is to check in the recuperation bay, or the surgical suites. Although, we don’t have any surgeries going on right now, so.. over there.” He gestured to an archway which led into a smaller segment of the Sickbay, where several beds peacefully lay, only a select few graced by the presence of healing patients. “If not, just give ‘er a comm.” He suggested, frowning. “Sorry, man.”
Nameless Crewman
Nurse
Max was a bit taken aback by the seemingly lost crewman and his casual shrugging. He hadn’t really imagined a scenario where his first encounter with a new colleague would be so fruitless. A bit dazed by reality not living up to his imagination, Max managed a weak smile as he nodded.
“Thank you, I’ll just go look elsewhere…” he said as he walked in the general direction of the recuperation bay. He would check there and the surgical suites for his new superior officer. Maybe he’d find her or at least a more helpful colleague along the way. Max was certainly in no rush and was happy to have the opportunity to review his new workspace on his own. These wanderings were helping him to get his bearings and make things more familiar. He was eager to settle into that comfort that comes from knowing where he was and who was there with him.
