The man in the cell forced his eyes shut for several long minutes before opening them again, attempting to will away the headache that he was suffering. “What happened?” he asked again, more specifically at Harris. “I fell asleep and I wound up in the brig with a headache. Please tell me the other guy looks worse.”

“Start from the beginning. Every detail.”

Mord closed his eyes a moment then began to speak in a sarcastic tone, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” He opened them again and looked ovare at Harris with a still hungover type look. “You need to tell me why I am here, or how I came to be in this cell. Last thing I remember I was having a drink in one of your bars listening to loud music.”

“What were you doing prior to getting a drink?”

The ore trader rubbed his temple, a headache building as he looked back up at the ceiling. “I was walking in the corridor and then I was....” a sudden look of realization crossed the mans miserable face. “Yeah, that. Well have you ever owed a debt you couldn’t pay back…” Mord squinted at Harris’ collar, “Lieutenant? Something so large that people want to take your livelihood just to square the deal but then you wouldn’t be able to work at all?”

Braxton felt he can get more out of him, he’d just had to be diplomatic about it. He shook his head “You know I can protect you. I just need you to cooperate fully with me. That means no matter how trivial it might seem to you, it could help make matters easier for me if you tell me. Would that be something you would be interested in?”

“I doubt that,” Mord says with a frown. “Man has to work and to work I gotta leave this station,” he continues as he looks over the COS for a moment then offers, “I made a debt out of some pirates buying ore. Anyway they forgave the debt if I just docked with another freighter and laid low for a few days. Didn’t know the whole thing would be a Star Fleet station.”

“Have you dealt with them before?”

Harris’ short and clipped answers have set Mord on edge. “What do you mean by worked with them? I loaned money from them and then I got behind on my payments so yeah I guess I have dealt with them before.” He rolls up on his feet and looks out towards the man properly, “Not one of my proudest moments.”
GM Wombat
“It’s a good thing I caught you. You can lay low in here.” Braxton thought it was prudent to switch gears. “So after you’ve settled the debt, then what happened?”

Mord blinked his eyes a few times and shook his head, clearing the last of the drug from his senses. “I got bonked on the head it feels like, and dragged down here,” he grumbled to Harris. “And if you don’t mind me saying too much, I don’t exactly feel that much safer here, ya know? Feel like I am gonna get shot out an airlock.”
