Kelly coordinated with the Lieutenant in the other crate and synched their chronos. Once everyone was settled, she made sure of one final light and weapon check then tapped her comm for the XO. =^= Pippin to XO… we are go for transport. Give us mark for five minute countdown after we’re dropped off. =^=

She was to the right of the exit and had another L.T. on the left. They would cover the rest as they exited, once they were set free from the confines of the Trojan Horse they were in.

The coordinates were little more than a patch of nothing on an asteroid devoid of anything. If the crew of marines were going to Trojan horse their way into the would be pirate’s ship they would need to drop the crates at the location and hope the marines were picked up in time before their air ran out.

Scans from the bridge of the Trinidad showed that on the other side of the asteroid there was something, a shadow on the scanners.

Aaron looked out as they got to the coordinates, and he cursed. It was going to be this sort of exchange.

“Any sign of their ship?”

“Not on our sensors sir. But I’m getting an echo of something on our scanners on the other side of the asteroid.”

“I figured. This is going to be a bit tricky,” and the marines were going to hate him he added in his head.

=^= Foley to Pippin. Slight change of plans. We aren’t going to be able to do a normal exchange, it looks like a dead drop. We are going to transport you to an asteroid dead ahead, and we are going to have t o back off. We’ll try to stay at the edge of sensor range, but as soon as they pick you up, be prepared to take them over. We’ll head back towards you either 5 minutes after they pick you up, or we’ll come and grab you before you run out of air. We won’t leave you out there.=^=

“NE Lookout, calculate the amount of time the marines have, and put it up on the screen. Keep a sharp eye on those containers, because we aren’t going to just leave them there.”

The ensign complied with the order and tapped out a few commands. “By my estimation they have approximately 30 minutes of air in their suits and the boxes,” he reported before flicking the clock onto the screen in the lower left hand corner.

“Yes Commander.”

“Okay, let’s do this. Start the clock, and transport the containers to the asteroid, on my mark.”

=^= Foley to Marine Team. Standby for transport on my mark. =^=

He looked around at the bridge crew.

“Mark. Helm as soon as transport is complete, head back towards the Starbase. Full impulse. NE Lookout, keep an eye on our marines, and on that shadow. I want to know as soon as they move out towards them.”

LtCmdr Foley - XO

Helm control nodded and started pushing the buttons, transporting the cargo boxes to the destination. As soon as the first one hit, the timer began to run the clock slowly ticking down.

For the second part of the command once the transport was complete the ship turned around and impulsed her way away from the drop site.

Kelly kept the others in a calm head space as they felt the shifting of the crate and the ship. They made jokes and jabbed at one another, though always in hushed tones as if already where they were heading. She glanced at the chrono on her suit and smiled. It was nice to be doing something besides wandering the halls of the station. Not that it wasn’t a job she did any less than her position demanded, but it was nice to be doing something ‘else’.

“Alright guys, lets get ready, boots on the ground follow Commander’s lead and let’s show them why the keep us around.” Ashley said as she prepared her thoughts of what was coming next.

The cargo containers were cramped and dark. Perhaps some of the marines were getting restless as the time ticked down, away from the comfort and security of the Trinidad and the Magellan. It didn’t matter though, not in the long run. With about fifteen minutes of air to spare the marines felt themselves move. The crates were jostled and voices heard outside.

Whoever the pirates were, they were lifted out of the drop zone by cables, not by transporters.

Ashley felt the jostling as she narrowed her eyes. She wasn’t liking this, it was going as they planned. Still, their training made them prepare for anything, including things they didn’t plan for. Looking over at Lt Pippin Captain Williams nodded towards her. Looking down she pulled out a tricorder, setting it to a low energy setting in case they were tracking them she set a small pulse to see if she could pick up what was going beyond the container walls.
