Chandel frowned, they would have a hard time removing the child from sickbay now that she knew her father was coming. She looked for Dr. Ordaavi to see what her opinion on the matter was.

Counselor Chandel

Odraavi wasn’t far from the area, finishing up with a patient. “There you are, Bentan. Take it easy for the next few days, those were some nasty burns. If you have any pain, or develop new symptoms, either come to the Sickbay or comm us for an emergency.” She tried to keep the atmosphere lax despite the fiasco spinning around them. “You’re all set,” She gently tapped his shoulder, offering a soft smile.

Turning from the Bolian man, she gathered her tricorder and headed off to assist another patient. “Counselor?” Odraavi inquired, coming across her in her travels.

[OOC: I’m going to write out the flip side too, even though it is probably several minutes in the future, just to keep this moving. :)]

She hadn’t been aware of the beam up warning, but it didn’t take a scientist to know that a child in sickbay when her parent arrived wasn’t a good thing. “Well, now,” she glanced up at the Counselor, “I would say now that Bugsie is in perfect health, and the Doc is going to fix your daddy up, I bet they both deserve a treat while they recover. What is Bugsie’s favorite treat?” She looked back up at the Counselor as she continued to speak. “Maybe we can go to my place real quick and get your dad and bunny a real treat that will cheer them up from being hurt? What do you think of that? And we’ll even put fresh, clean ribbons in your hair.” The child could probably use a good bath as well, judging from tear streaks on her cheek and a rumpled outfit. But a treat and ribbons would suffice till she learned what else was going on.

She looked at the Doc as well and wondered if whatever she was being benched for would be lifted just long enough to see to the child.

Nisihe subtly rose her eyebrows in skepticism, uncertain if Teek was well enough to leave the Sickbay. Hesitating, she stood a bit away, watching the interaction between child and manager with a keen, unwavering gaze. Teek seemed to be managing well, and perhaps she could use the distraction as much as the child could. Although telepathic, Nisihe was no psychologist. Battling between keeping her benched or letting her go, Odraavi came to a decision. She was worried about Teek, but there was no use in keeping them both there, when others were in need of the space. It wasn’t logical.

“You can go,” Nisihe remarked, walking over. “But you better be keeping contact between you and I. If anything feels off or you hurt, call me.” Perhaps she was overreacting, but she cared about Teek and that meant she was going to be harder on her. “Go enjoy yourselves.” She smiled, though her eyes read Be careful with her, knowing better than to express verbal concern before Emma.

Teek smiled and nodded. “I promise, Doc.” She reached out to touch the woman’s arm as the look let her know about the child. A soft smile of understanding mirroring the Doctor’s concerns. “We won’t be long. Let me know when to bring her back.”

“All right,” Nisihe sighed, reassured by her attentiveness. She knew Teek was one of the best people Emma could be with, in times as perilous as these. Although, that didn’t shake her deep concern. “Don’t have too much fun, you two.”

Emma nodded in excitement, as her small brain worked fast to come up with ideas that she could do for her dad. “Bugsie like’s carrots, but that’s because he’s a wabbit,” Emma said, “But he also likes white chocolate,” she looked up through her eyes, in a manner that clearly hinted that it was probably Emma that liked the overly sweet version of chocolate than Bugsie. “Daddy like cheesecakes, we could make him a cheesecake with sprinkles and a card. He’d like a card. Do you have glitter? To make it extra extra sparkly to cheer him up,” she spoke quickly. She wasn’t allowed glitter at her home, her mummy said it was too messy, but these people don’t know that. Besides her Daddy isn’t feeling well and sparkles are just the thing to cheer him up.

“Well I would say glitter and cheesecake are the definite answer then. We can use the daycare classroom to get the glitter, how’s that?” She smiled knowing the replicators there would also be able to make the dessert for the incoming dad who probably wouldn’t even be able to eat it. She’d have to find another way to keep the cake from joining them.

She ran ahead, nearly running into a medical officer who only just managed to sidestep her placing a hand out to keep the child on balance, as she ran ahead nearly disappearing in the crowd of sickbay before she thought to stop and let adults catch up.

Emma, Child

As the child ran off, Teek moved after her with a stride that allowed her to keep the girl in sight, but didn’t mean she had to run. When they both entered the corridor, Teek called out, “You can only go to the next hallway, then wait for me, Emma!” She made it seem like the girl was leading and in waiting, was doing Teek a favor. In light of the last few hours, perhaps that wasn’t too far from the truth.

((If you want, go about the medical thread… we will just assume Emma and Teek go to make glitter card… when ready ‘comm’ to Teek and I’ll get her and the kid back to sickbay… Unless you need the kid and her to interact more… then lemme know and I’ll keep posting with her lol))

Chandel smiled as she watched Teek and Emily leave sickbay. She was very glad to see the child handling things so well and that the distraction had worked. She looked back over to the CMO.”Any where else you would like me, Doc?” She asked.

Counselor Chandel

“Emma’s a real champ,” Nisihe laughed softly, watching as the two retreated from the Sickbay. Glancing over to Chandel, shook her head. “Things have calmed down for now, Counselor. Take a break, if you can, grab a cup or tea or something caffeinated.” The doctor smiled, “You’ve been more than a help to us today, and for that, I’m grateful. Unfortunately, if we get anymore casualties, we’re going to need our counselor ready.” She winked, despite the urge behind her words.

Braxton and Jonathon shimmered in moments later on the floor “Doc, he has been electrocuted by a replicator. Where do you want me to put him?”

Harris, CoS

“Put him on biobed four,” She gestured to only open biobed in the main sickbay.

Sipping a cup of coffee, Chandel watched the crewman being beamed in and wondered how the man had gotten electrocuted in this day and age. Usually there were backups that prevented that from happening.

Counselor Chandel

Quickly retrieving a tricorder, she made her way over to the biobed, shaking her head. “How did he manage to get electrocuted by a replicator? Aren’t there systems in place to prevent that kind of trouble?” She demanded, running a quick scan over his body.

Dr. Odraavi
CMO

“He somehow got around it. I’m still trying to determine how exactly he did. He’s been in and out of conciousness when I arrived on scene.”

Harris

Odraavi’s scans would confirm the man had indeed been electrocuted. There were some moderate burns on his hands and his knees, there was a touch of bruising on his head, but as far as injuries went that was it. Jonathan had gotten lucky it would seem. As for his lack of consciousness the scans would indicate that that was mostly due to shock more than anything.

Odraavi sighed, shoving the scanner into the pocket of her coat. “It isn’t anything a dermal regenerator can’t fix. You get engineering on that replicator as soon as possible. I don’t want anyone else filing into my Sickbay for something that should even be possible!”

After a time, Jonathan’s eyes opened blearily. His eyes found Harris, but slipped away as he had trouble focusing despite Jonathan’s efforts to keep them fixed on something. “Sickbay?” He asked weakly, his eyes slipping shut before he forced them open again. “My daughter is she…” his voice fading out, as his body threatened to pull him back into unconsciousness.

Odey

“Hey, it’s okay.” Nisihe rested her hand on the base of his shoulder, crossing her arm over to retrieve a dermal regenerator. “You were electrocuted. Lieutenant Harris brought you to the sickbay. We’ll fix you up, I promise.” She kept her words simple, his lack of sustained conscious worrying her. “Your daughter? Tell me about her.” Odraavi encouraged in effort to keep him from slipping away. “What’s her name?” She asked, drawing the regenerator over the worst of the burns.

Chandel, who was still sipping her coffee off to the side, listened and watched the man to make sure he was not in distress, either about his injuries or his daughter.

Counselor Chandel

Jonathans eyes slipped shut, and they remained shut for a minute or so. “Emmmm” His head lulled to the side his eyes slipping closed. For several minutes he lay still like that before he suddenly jolted, “I sent her to get help,” he said, casting his eyes around, “Is she…” His eyelids flickered, “…okay”

Odey

“Emma?” Nisihe gently pressed her fingers to his temple, guiding his head up to avoid the shock to his neck from the quick fall. Once certain he was out of the dangerzone, she offered a smile. “She’s okay. Teek’ma, a wonderful civilian who manages the Mystique Club, offered to take her out so she didn’t get scared.” She tried to keep her words as simple as possible. “Once we get you patched up we can give her a comm. How does that sound?”

Dr. Odraavi
CMO

Jonathan nodded, too tired to question the doctor or argue to see for himself that his little one was okay. “How -” he coughed, his throat suddenly partched “how bad?”

Odey

“Oh, you caught yourself in a doozy all right, but you’ll be patched up in no time.” She assured, hoping to ease his tension and anxiety. Stealing a glance at him, Nisihe returned to his burns.

OOC: How much damage did the replicator do?
Trin

OOC: The burns on his hands are 2nd degree, all his other ones are first degrees.

IC: “Thanks Doc,” Jonathan’s eyes slipped closed and his breathing evened out as his shock finally gave out and he slipped back into unconsciousness, letting the doctor continue working on his burns.
