Well it was reassuring to know that she wasn’t ill, Aroha thought to herself as she put the tricorder away. All her bio signs read normal… well as normal as could be expected after seeing a person walk through a table. More than a little perplexed she returned to the work she had been attempting before. In the time she had been distracted the cell had already reacted to the chemicals she had introduced to it. She lowered her head back to the microscope so she could record the results. Perhaps it had all been a figmant of her imagination from looking at cells for so long.

TeWhiti next felt oddly cold, and the PaDD on the research bench next to her started to clatter on the surface then was suddenly over with. Almost as if the Magellan was struck by a blast of some sort that was intense but otherwise quickly faded away.

A small shiver ran down Aroha’s spine, though she didn’t know why and the hair on her arms stood on end. Then the bench started rattling ruining her concentration. She jumped, expecting the ship to go into alert mode but the computer didn’t so much as beep. As the doctor in charge of the shift while the CMO was away, Aroha reached her hand up to tap her comm badge when she paused. What exactly was she planning on reporting? A man who can disappear and a jolt the ships alarm system hadn’t been able to sense?”This is making my head hurt,” she muttered to herself lowering her hand back down again.

Unable to shake the feeling that the two things might be intertwined, she decided she’d do a little investigating of her own before she reported anything. Grabbing the bioscanner she had set aside while she was concentrating on the cells, she scanned the area around her.

OOC: I am so sorry this one got lost in the shuffle!

IC: The scans indicated that were were a bunch of electromagnetic “pops” happening all around her with flashes of cold coming and going. It would get busier and then slow down not really consistent or in a pattern that could be discerned.

GM Wombat

“Yes!” Aroha fist bumped the air, electing a few stares from the officers around her. It wasn’t just her. There something was going on in the air around her. Whatever it was seemed to be fluctuating inconsistently, but it was consistent with the cold flushes that she felt. =^= Computer run electromagnetic scans from the last half hour =^= Now that it was proven she wasn’t crazy, she wanted to see if there was a correlation between the appearance of the strange man and the electromagnetic energy.

The computer results came back fairly quickly and showed that the electromagnetic pops happened before the visions did, almost as if the pop was some sort of barrier breaking that the image showing through. The fluctuations then stopped and the image would disappear again.

GM Wombat

“Pop goes the weasel,” Aroha hummed to herself, as she contemplated what the information was supposed to signify. =^= Computer run a comparision data on the number of life signs in sickbay before, during and after electromagnetic activity. =^= she ordered, letting the computer run the data. If the pops were like a barrier breaking, than it would stand to reason something was trying to force it’s way through. Maybe someone was trying to send a message. Or maybe not. She didn’t know enough about electromagnetism to really tell. What she did know was that she had seen a person with her own eyes, and she wanted to know if he was alive, anaphasiac, or a projection.

The computer didn’t take long for the scans to come back. There was no changing in the number of lifeforms in the sick bay at the time of the distortion, as indicated by the normal life form measures. Other than the change in the temperature.

It wasn’t long before the CO arrived in the infirmary. He entered and looked around for a doctor that was free…

Ben cleared his throat so as to subtly alert one of the doctors to his presence…

-Ben

Lost in her obsession with the mysterious figure that had appeared, Aroha jumped with the Captain cleared his throat. “Sorry sir,” she apologised hurrying over to where the man stood. “I was doing some… research…” she added, feeling like she had to explain herself but not willing to admit to the Captain she had been chasing ghosts.

“What can I do for you?”

“I had a rather close and chilling encounter with one of the figures you may have seen appearing,” Ben said with a smile, “It sat on the same seat I was sitting on at the time.”

“Just a checkup to ensure that our ghostly visitors do not cause any physical harm.”

-Ben

“Have you seen any of our visitors?” Ben asked casually.
