SEAI leaned back in her chair, “I recommend that we outfit all crew with self-scanners for the duration of our time in the nebula. I have read reports of different experiences inside of them, and I would like to know if something is happening to our crew sooner rather than later.”

SEAI (CMO)

Ooc: Some reports Vailable to the heads would be as such. People having hallucinations, higher than normal adrenaline levels, friendly fire sceenarios, hysteria, massive depression, suicides, etc.

Last known ship to breach the edge returned without a soul of a crew starting at 200.

((Ooc… oh lord… Viking goes ‘Event Horizon’ lol… and as to the ‘issues’ … isn’t the crew already experiencing those? lol))

Kalika sighed. They were going in. What concerned her were rumors that the signs exhibited by those in the nebula were also symptoms the crew showed when they were in space no where near the space anomaly. She was speechless. But she glanced at the CO and nodded. “Into the unknown it is, Captain!” She smiled and gave the woman a look she hoped would convey her support.

Mike leaned to Kalika and whispered to her.. “I think the answer to why us is… we’re the most expandable.”

It didn’t bother him too much. Someone had to check it out and no matter what anyone said, the USS Viking crew always pulled through no matter what mess they gotten in.

“I’ll have some of my engineers recheck our sensors, the deflector dish and have probes on standby. If there’s a devil in that nebula, i’m sure we’ll find it.”
He just hoped the devil won’t find them first.

Peter read over some of the reports “I suggest a complete security lockdown on all firearms, personal and otherwise. With reports like these, it may be better.” he looked at the newly promoted Security Chief “With the low numbers we have right now I’ll assign my Intelligence team to you for this mission, We won’t be doing any analyses until after this is done.” He put his hands on the desk, crossing his fingers. He looked at the Mecical Android “Do we have enough scanners onboard for this large an effort?”

CIO

“I would suggest the same with the airlocks, shuttlebay & cargo bay doors,” Nevin offered.

The shadows in the corners of the room almost seemed to dance at the thought of crew plunging to their deaths in the open blackness of space.

Kalika nodded. “And as much as I hate to say it, double locks. Meaning it takes two to run a transport, shuttle or open a weapons locker. I think each of us in room should pick a second person to double up on codes with. I don’t want any one person going off half cocked. And we can’t assume because we are usually the level headed ones, that it would be so in the nebula. Any objections?” She glanced first to the CO then to the others in the room.

“That sounds good to me.” Mike said, nodding his head. It was better to prepair too much for this then not enough. If they remained on their toes, they would figure this in no time.
