Sanx walked into the lab after the mission briefing and set the crystal in a specimen exam field. He then said to the room as a whole “Ok, everyone. Stop what you are doing. This -” and he pointed to the crystal, “- takes priority. Full workup. In-depth spectrum analysis, structure modeling, energy readings, radiation, sub-atomic anomalies… the works. We need to get this done as quickly and accurately as we can. When we reach the nebula, this is supposed to help us… somehow. Questions?”

OOC: Is this set before we reach the nebula? Just want to check the timeline as T’Shura is on the Bridge in the Main Sim Bridge line. :)

OOC; Yes. It was said in the briefing that the XO and CO wanted to know how the crystal worked before we arrived. So here we go!

T’Shura turned and looked at the crystal in the CSO’s hand, her curiosity piqued. Studying crystal formations was definitely her forte as a it was involved in planetary science. Planetary science involved studying all the aspects of a planet’s formation which had to do with both the structural elements and the forces inherent in the creation thereof. She moved over to the large shared console where a specimen could be placed and various studies done on it.

“I can take the spectrum and structural analysis.” She said as her fingers flew over the board to set up the parameters for the study. She knew that in the formations of crystals that various chemicals were responsible both for the formation of their facets and color. So breaking down the elements of the chemicals involved would both tell what it was formed of and what forces were used in that formation.

Sanx smiled and said “Excellent. Compare to all known crystalline structures and see if we can get a base-line on it’s atomic structure. It did exhibit a strange visual sign and light-manipulation property while we win the briefing. I’ll check photonic emissions and absorption rates.” and he began programming the scanners to do just that.
