“Thank you,” Nevin said to his officers before he addressed the Captain. He reported the initial findings and reported that a course was laid in for the Ambassador class vessel.

“All preparations are in place. We’re just waiting on your command,” Nevin advised.

The Ambassador class hung in space like a ghost. No running lights and no signs that life ever existed on the vessel at all giving it more of a creepy vibe. The forward section of the saucer drifted slowly until it broached the cloud and slowed the drift to a halt. The swirly cloud of energies and nebulae dust seemingly thick as gumbo clay mud. A whisper of a thought drifted into a few of the Bridge officers minds of finding valuable data if they went aboard the ship.

“ we are going to investigate that ship right.” Luna asked. Not really to anyone in particular. In fact the comment was more to heself then anyone else. She continued to monitor her station watching the scanners of any sine of threats.

The captain still hadn’t replied when Nevin felt the need to justify why he had selected to set course for the Ambassador class vessel.

“I believe that the computer core on the Ambassador ship will be the one most likely to contain useful information,” he said as though to prompt her to give the go ahead.

Despite Nevin’s thoughts, the decision was the Captain’s to make.

Peter nodded in agreement from his chair on the captains left. “It does appear to be the latest addition to that graveyard” Why he wanted to go on that ship went beyond him.

“At least if the nebula only effects people. If it effects macinary as well, then data could already be corrupted. Is there a lot of background radiation, or anything unusual showing on our sensors?” Mike asked.

As it looked, even a fully working ship could not protect it’s crew. USS Viking was far from perfect. But if they knew what to protect themselves from....

Lt. Mike Stone, CE

Nevin watched as the Captain appeared to be frozen in her own little world, seemingly oblivious to his report. “Captain, a word?” Nevin said indicating towards the ready room.

Once the CO were to begin heading towards the CIO. “Mr Sigmundsson, the bridge is yours,” he said with a confidence that was far beyond the new and fresh XO that had come aboard, “The word is given, take is in nice and steady at your leisure.”

He then exited the bridge into the ready room with Ravenfall.

NE Guido turned from his seat on at the helm awaiting for a nod from the CIO.

Peter stood up, waiting until the doors to the Ready room closed before turning to the viewscreen “Take us into standard orbit around the ship” He crossed his arms and stood for a moment “Then start a full scan cycle, I want to know everything we can about the ship before going over.” He turned around “Ensign Luna please inform Lieutenant Darz that her presence is requested on the bridge. Also, inform the Shuttlebay to prep Shuttle Naglfar. I think we’d like to avoid using the transporter systems, especially given the current circumstances.” He looked towards Chief Engineer Stone “Chief, we’re going to need someone from your staff to accompany the presumed away team, mull over a suggestion for the Captain” He then finally took a seat in the central chair. Practically having to squeeze his overly large figure into it “Let’s also prepare a probe for the nebulae”

CIO

Luna tapes her come =/\= ensign Luna to Lieutenant Darz your presence is requested on the bridge as soon a possible=/\= she said.

After that she sent a message to the shule bay to prep the Naglfar for lunch.

From her position at the shoulder of Lieutenant Stone, Kara Nakuto observed the unfolding events on the bridge without a word. She was struggling to gain the measure of the Viking’s current Captain. The woman seemed…detatched. Traumatised, even. She knew better than anyone else present the unique and peverted demands that came with command of the USS Viking. Had she appeared similarly shell-shocked when she had been in charge? Or had events on this damned vessel plummeted them even deeper into the abyss than even her own nightmarish recollections dared to suggest? Clearly there were matters being wrestled with behind the scenes, situations and problems that Kara no longer carried the authority, or the clearance, to be let in on. She felt powerless. Adrift.

Sigmundsson’s confident tones cut through her scattered thoughts like a knife through molded butter. The mission. That had to be her only focus right now. Discovering the trials and tribulations of Captain Ravenfall could wait.

“I can go.” Her voice came as if from a million lightyears away, the sound of it unexpected and unfamiliar, even to her own ears. As if something else was wielding her as a vessel for communication, an empty shell gifted purpose as a conduit for the void.
“Lieutenant Stone, Sir, I can take up the engineering position on the away team. I am currently the most expendable member of the crew and I am also capable of piloting the shuttle. If that is agreeable to you, Sir?”

Kara Nakuto

After a few moments, Nevin returned to the bridge, following the CO. He looked to the view screen to ascertain if the ship was underway or not. He hadn’t felt any movement, but it could be that Sigmundsson and the helmsman had heeded his advice to take her steady.

He did not verbally ask for an update - Doing so without giving Ravenfall the chance to ask for one would completely undermine her.

He strode confidently to his seat at the Captain’s right and checked his console.
