Peter looked at his screen for a moment “They’ve finished docking procedures. They’ll take the nearest Jefferies tubes to the bridge.” He brought up a Schematic of an Ambassador class of the same make as the one they were facing on the viewscreen and showed the most direct route “An Ambasssador Class ship, as you know, is of Similar size as the Viking-Class, we can except a similar time frame of traversal between decks as if they’d be doing it here. Barring any unforseen and probable circumstances.”

Sanx came through the turbolift doors and looked at what was going on. For a moment, he stood silently and just watched. Finally he spoke. “Captain, I need a word. Privately, please. It won’t take but a few moments.”

“Of course Lieutenant my ready room!” She said as she turned toward the scientist. “Commander you have the bridge.” She said to her intelligence chief.

She led the way to her ready room and stopped infront of her desk and turned to him. “What can I do for you Lieutenant?”

Peter simply nodded quietly allowing the Scientist and the Captain to go ahead uninterupted.

Sanx took a deep breath and slowly exhaled as the door closed. “Captain. I wanted to tell you that I think sending an away team over to another ship in… this…” he said and gestured around the room to indicate the nebula, “… is a bit premature. We are still studying the crystal that was provided us and, if I am not mistaken, that is supposed to help us navigate through here. I must insist that we have a better understanding of the nature of this place before we start diving headlong into circumstances that led those other ships to their current condition. And I must add, Ma’am, that analysis of the crystal is problematic at best. Our scanners don’t even really register it as there. We are looking at possible chroniton emissions or absorption as possiblities, but…” and he shrugged. “There is just something very odd about this specimen. It acts in a physical manifestation. It makes a sound if you tap against things, you can hold it in your hand… but scientifically it seems to not actually exist. That, coupled with it’s discussed ties to the nebula… well… that would seem to indicate a level of caution much higher than standard, Captain.”

Sanx, CSO

“Im afraid its to late the Lieutenant. The shuttle has already left the ship, and probably already docked with the other vessel” she now had a worried look on her face as she took a deep breath.

A dark pulse emanated from the cloud very slowly. Passing over the Viking did not cause any issues with shields or hull, but all the lights seemed to dim. Not the lights per se, but almost as if the universe itself dimmed a bit. Like it was holding back a sneeze before returning to normal lighting. Giggling like that of a little girl flittered in the ears of some of the crew. Light, but yet there. Almost as if a child were nearby.

Peter stood up immediately and quickly looked across the Bridge. He noticed on the faces of some of the others that they too had heard something “Ok” He said aloud as much to calm himself and the other Bridge Officers “I want internal and External scans up and running. I want to know what just happened.” He spoke in his usual calm and commanding tone yet with a slight degree of hesitation. =^=Bridge To Captain Ravenfall, your presence is requested back on the Bridge. Also that of Lieutenant Sanx=^= He knew she was only in the Ready room but things had changed, and having the Chief Science Officer out here would help

CIO

Sanx looked at the Captain, waiting to see if she responded first or took them both back to the bridge.

Sanx, CSO

Viktoryia raised an eyebrow at the chief “Did you hear that?” She said as she hit her comm badge. “On our way” she motioned for him to go ahead of her and spoke as they left her ready room. “I want you to head down to the science lab and retrieve the crystal. I want to have it close.”

The Security NE piped up “Sir, Engineering sent a call for Security, intruder alert. They belayed that shortly thereafter but requested the Stationing of Security Personnel. Forwarding relevant information” Peter opened the report on his duty station, read over it quickly before responding “Alright, send a team to secure Engineering. Let’s also get more patrols around the ship, I have a feeling this isn’t going to be the only event of the evening.”

CIO

Viktoryia made her way to the center of the bridge as the CSO made his way to the turbo lift. “Report Commander?”
