John hid in the closet abd pulled the uniforms back infornt of him.

Once Reira were to actually answer the door he would find Nevin dressed in his civilian clothing.

-Akorem

“Commander Akorem, how can I assist you?” Reira stated, being formal and calm. Logical, like any ex-Drone. Watching the man with interest, civilian clothes? Was this an attempt to throw him off guard?

“Actually, this is more about what I can do for you,” Nevin said, “I wouldn’t be much of an XO if I didn’t check up on my shipmates, would I?”

-Akorem

“I’m quite alright now, the anomaly on the Ambassador-class vessel interacted oddly with my cortical node, triggering that command line. I’ve rectified the problem.” The ex-Drone explained, replicating himself another hot chocolate and a chocolate mousse. It was evident the ensign had a sweet tooth.

” If only we could all ‘rectify our problems’ so easily without having to visit sickbay,” Nevin said.

-Akorem

“Did they repair the damage to your arm sufficiently?” He asked, remembering that the console exploded and shards of glass were stuck in it.

“As best as they could,” Nevin replied honestly. His arm would be itchy and irritate for a few more days.

“I had to regenerate for 16 hours to fix my own problems, the errant code tried to shut down my vital organs. Not particularly present.” Reira explained.

“I can imagine is not,” Nevin replied, “You managed to identify the trigger of the code?”

-Akorem

“Yes, the field was causing me to feel intense emotional states, the code activates in the Collective to terminate any Drone who experiences emotions since it is considered a defect.” Reira stated, sitting down.

Ensign Reira Akaba (Science)

“As distracting as strong emotion would be I would not consider them a defect,” Nevin replied, “But in their pursuit of perfection, I guess the borg would consider the unpredictability of emotion to be imperfect. Please tell me it is the code you’ve got rid of, not your emotions.”

-Akorem

“I deleted the code. Unlike the Borg, I enjoy my emotions, they separate me from the machine and I still have use for them. I’m not sure if life would be worth anything without the ability to feel them.” Reira stated quickly. “Strong emotions can have positive effects, injustice can lead to action that causes change for the better.” He offered, sitting down.
