David nodded, “Alright, I’m going to message your superior officer to give you that shift off and you’re going to use the time to rest. Sleep, work out on the holodeck, play some racketball. I don’t care how you spend that time so long as it spent doing something you find relaxing.” He picked up the PADD again and started typing “Security right?” he asked as he finished the message.

”waght hold on Doctor is that really necessary we don’t really have enough people in security for someone to be out an entire shift” Luna said. She was concerned. The safety of the ship was at stake her she know they could not afford for her to miss a shift.

“You’ll be on call, but a tired officer, is more of a liablitiy than an rested officer they can call on when the need arises. Quite frankly Ensign, you’ve fallen into what is loosly termed as ‘sleep dept’ if you don’t catch up now, you’re going to end up missing more than just one shift.”

” we could watch a movie with daddy” Crenity chimed in. Luna shook her head as much as she would love that they just did not have the manning for her to be out for a shift.

David softened his voice “I used to work in Security, I can understand the responsibility you feel, but tired people make mistakes. Spend time with your daughter, relax and if you’re desperatly needed the ship will call on you,”

Ensign Harrington
Doctor

Luna smiled “ you are right.” She said simply agreeing with him.

Crenity Giggled “ I think Daddy will be happy” the child said giggling. Luna shook her head and giggled kids shure do have a way of tell on there parents.

“I’m sure he will be,” David smile glad that Luna had accepted his wisdom. He finished sending the message to the security chief that Luna would be on call for her next routine shift in order for her to get some rest.

“Right, I think I still have another physical to complete. Miss Crenity.” He quirked an eyebrow, “I think that’s your turn,”

Harrington
Doctor

“Yap” the child said chiefly.
Luna smiled and hoped off the bio bed to stand next to the doctor. “ yes I can’t believe she is two already time does fly” Luna said.
“Like us” Crenity said. Crenity was quick. Luna shock her head. She looked at the doctor the leand close enough so only he would hear. “Yes she can fly but that needs to stay out of her medical records. If you need further explanation we can set up a time to meet with out her present” Luna said. Luna went to great lengths to protect her daughter from her horrible past. She would not risk Crenity suffering the way she had.

David’s face remained impassive but inside his brain whirled at the dilemna that he was now faced with. As a medical practioner he was obligated to ensure that Crenities medical records were factual, truthful and up-to-date so that any other doctor could treat her efficantly. But this was the Viking, and the Viking was slightly different to any other ship in the fleet and the wings on the child would doubtlessly be a medical curiousity should the news get out so he wasn’t surprised that Ensign Luna wanted to protect her daughter from that kind of attention at such a young age.

“How long have you been able to fly?” David asked as he began to scan Crenity with his tricorder. His internal debate still reciding in the back of his mind. “Can you both do it?”

Harrington
Doctor

“ for ever. Mommy can fly to.” she said. Witch was accurate from the two year olds point of view. Luna smiled.

“She has had primary feathers sence she was six months old and she figured out how to fly on her own.” Luna clarified. The scans would show Crenity’s hart rate was higher then an average child her age but within the normal range for her. Her blood presser was also lower then the average human of her age but agen this was well within her normal ranger. Her weight however was a problem she waged well under what she should even when her hollow bones were taken into construction. The scan would show that the child had an extremely fast metabolism. This was noted in Crenitys medical records and had been a constant battle sence she had been born. Luna’s own record was incomplete so there was no way of knowing if Crenity’s fast metabolism would slow down as she got older.
