Over the years, Beveres had grown sensitive to movement around her. Call it paranoia, she called it: caution. Turning her head, a goofy grin across her face, she nodded to Stein. “Doctor! Welcome to the..” She glanced around the room, “Craziness?” She shrugged, it was the most normal word one could use to describe anything on Viking.

“I think that is a suitable explanation, the first time I arrived on the Viking almost eight years ago the transporter system almost killed me” Peter said with a wry smile “Luckily we had some damn fine engineers that saved my hide.”

“It was not until the Viking that I truly understood people’s displeasure with transporter systems. Although, I don’t think many are as hungry as Viking’s.”

Stein looked around when Beveres addressed him. “Thank you for the warm welcome doctor,” he said with an almost bemused grin. “I trust all staff meetings on the Viking are this jovial? If not I am afraid I will be sorely disappointed.”

“Then I am afraid, Doctor,” The corners of Beveres’ lips contorted into the makings of an almost despondent frown. “You will be disappointed.” A grin quickly squashed any remnants of her sadness, “Viking is the furthest from jovial, but she’s always mischievous.

“Mischievious in a.. dark sense of the word,” Nevin replied, “When the holodeck works and creates a nice setting like this, I start to wonder what the ship is cooking up for us.”
