Main Sim - Vaila Sickbay (Beveres)

Brion peered over their shoulders at the results as she took a moment to think. Something seemed out of place to her but she couldn’t quite pinpoint it. She studied the young counselor’s results again before raising an eyebrow as she pointed at the console. “Dr Stein?” she asked as she wracked her brain to remember her anatomy classes from many years back. “I’m afraid my knowledge of endocrinology is not my strong point but have you seen this level of psilosynine in an El-Aurian before?” she queried. She knew that the El-Aurian race had a degree of empathic ability but she was fairly sure that they were not known to be fully telepathic.

She quickly brought up a previous scan of the counselor to compare whilst she waited for Stein’s input.

Curiously, Tal glanced between the two doctors. She had not considered the psilosynine levels in the counselor’s body and wondered what conclusion Stein might draw from them.

As the officers discussed between themselves, Lazoh’s eyes fluttered open and she began to look around sickbay in confusion as though it was a totally foreign place to her.

“It is possible, it is also possible that it isn’t,” Stein said hedging his bets on being pinned down on an answer. “My mind went first to a compound introduced to the body some how that affected the nervous system. I suppose a strong enough telepath could something something…” His voice fell off into mumbling so as to hide his wackadoo hypothisis.

Beveres quirked an eyebrow in scrutiny of her colleague, but she chose not to question his tapered speculations.

Turning back to Bevers he frowned, “Honestly the brain is your area of expertise. I am just here to help if you need it, not hijack your case.”

“I appreciate that, Doctor.” Beveres admitted, folding her arms over the base of her chest. “However, any input you have..” She gestured to their surroundings, “By all means.”

As they continued to speculate, Nirim calmly slid off the bed and made her way over to the group. She stood and stared until they noticed her, almost as though she was in a trance, her eyes fixed on nothing in particular. Shifting her gaze, she tilted her head to the side as she surveyed them as though she didn’t know who they were, her face devoid of any emotion.

Ta’lahali turned her chin, glancing over her shoulder when she felt the sensation of eyes burning into her back. “Counselor,” she smiled softly at Nirim, “how are you feeling?”

Her movements leisure, Tal slowly approached the woman, keeping a slight distance by the vacancy of her eyes. It concerned her, the phlegmatic–blank expression that dressed her features. “Do you know where you are, Nirim?”

Lt. Beveres, CNS

Lazoh blinked a couple of times, remaining completely motionless as she appeared to be processing what Beveres said. “Nirim…” she muttered to herself as her eyes flickered as though she was searching for the meaning of the word. After a few seconds she looked at the counselor and gave a somewhat unnatural smile. “Thank you, I’m feeling much better…” she replied slowly, keeping an unnerving gaze on Beveres.

Stein shrugged once again. Not in a dismissive gesture but as someone trying to release some pent up stress, likely from his perceived deficiency in this area. “We could try sedating her and see what happens. If she wakes up fine we can assume whatever hallucigen or mental control was broken. If not then, well that is one more data point we can use in the differential.”

He looked over the biometric readings again, eyes flicking over the results without his head turning, almost eerily still in his concentration.
