When the transporter beam faded, Akaba found himself at the top of a rather large oak tree in the arboretum. A small and bewildered squirrel peered at him from the next branch, it’s ears twitching as it tried to work out what it’s new housemate was. Deciding it was considerably bigger than him, it scampered along the branch and shot down the tree to safety.

OOC: I really like the setting, removing Reira from his technology makes him a lot more vulnerable and I get to show his botanist side.

IC: Arriving on a sturdy-looking branch, Reira looked around at the environment of… trees? Not a normal fixture of a command centre, the ex-Drone observed the squirrel with interest since it evoked several memories of running in the forests of Japan with his friends, one of the few memories he had of his childhood that did involve starships or metal decks of any sort. Watching as the squirrel left, he carefully made his way down the large tree and landed softly in the soil, dusting off his uniform.

=/\= Lieutenant Reira Akaba to anyone in the vicinity, my transporter co-ordinates have slipped and I’ve arrived in a woodland area of unknown location. =/\= It was only then he noticed his combadge was broken. Quickly taking it apart, he noticed the flux circuitry elements had fused. “At least it’s this and not my organs that got improperly reassembled. That’s the problem with matter transmission technology made by inferior species.” He stated, putting it back together and putting it in his pocket before walking around, the air was sweet and clean, not processed. It was sort of… nice.

Bending down, he ran his fingers through the soil and sniffed it, adding some nanoprobes for analysis. “There are fixed nitrogen elements in the soil… It proves there’s intelligent life nearby since this is an artificla fertilizier.” He stated, putting it back on the ground as he sat under the shade of a tree, trying to adapt his combadge into a sonar device to try and find underground technology or at least some semblance of civilizations.

The squirrel cautiously popped it’s head out from behind a nearby bush as Akaba studied his surroundings. Deciding that discretion was the better part of valour, the twitchy rodent scampered off and shot up another tree. As the scientist investigated, a stray soccer ball rolled into his path, followed by a young boy who promptly froze and stared at the unfamiliar officer. “I…I’m sorry sir…” the boy answered in a bit of a whimper. “…I…I…didn’t know anyone else was here…we were just playing…” he added as he chewed his lip nervously.
