When the other got to the weather station and the place was a mess. Lance was setting by the wall drinking water his red eye meet there as he moved his white hair out of his eyes. “ spirit taken care of safe for you all”

Ensign Lance Von Hellsing (Helm/Wolf)

”....good job, ensign.” Mike said. Though it sounded almost like a question. He had no idea what kind of spirit Lance was talking about and right now… he didn’t really care.

“Right, let’s get this show on the road… where’s the control console and… um stuff located?” He still had no idea what exacly was even wrong with the station, and even less how to fix it. He just wished Kristi was with him. For sure she’d know what to do. As usual, he’ll just have to wing it and hope it works.

Lt. Mike Stone, CE

Lance got up and walked to a computer and said “this is an old TXC-543 weather station. How they work is when they are networked together but the station is receiving data but not sending it that is why the weather is bad I have a feeling there is something wrong with the transmitter or there is a backup of Binary junk in the main OS. If we can check both things we can get this thing running again........ I been reading lot about the colony before I was asked to come down I my be an Helm Officer but I know a lot about computers”

He said as he was accessing the system the lights in the station finally turned on and power flow was stable but the system was not Synchronizing with the other stations.

Ensign Lance Von Hellsing (Helm/Wolf)

As they examined the console, it was evident that it had been sabotaged by someone. With the storm fast approaching the colony, they had a matter of minutes to repair the damage.

“I think someone doesn’t like you very much.” Mike said to T’pol after he noticed the clean cut of one of the wires inside one of the consoles. USS Viking had a bit of a rodent infestation, and it was easy to recognize when something was cut or if it has been chewed up. “Ensign Luna, can you check outside, if you can see any signs of tampering as well? Ensign Hellsing, I’d appreciate your help with fixing the consoles and resynchronising this weather station to the rest of them.”

Lt. Mike Stone, CE

Lance smiled as he rolled up his Sleeves “ ok there is a store room 3 level below this one that will have spare parts. If it is untouched we will be in Business. I will work on the restnchronising I have a few tricks up my sleeves”

Ensign Lance Von Hellsing (Helm/Wolf)

Luna boded and headed outside to look around the outside of the station for evidence of sabotage. She considered flying over it to be with the wind that would be risky.

While Lance was trying to fix one console, Mike was trying to get the second one online as well. Power was running through the station, but the console was dead. His first guess would be the severed wires inside the console. Bringing his toolbox closer, Mike cursed quietly as all his tools were still wet, and his tricorder wasn’t even powering on. “There goes my diagnostics tool, I’ll have to figure out which wire goes where the old fashioned way.”
Luckily he still had duct tape, which seemed uneffected by the water. It took him about 5 minutes, and all the wires were reconnected, what he hopped was in correct order. But when trying to get the console running, it only blinked and shimmered for a few seconds before getting dark again. Mike looked at Lance, but he was busy with his repairs.

Time being short, Mike realized he won’t figure this on his own.

Kristi had been working in engineering when a voice cut thru the soft humming of an abstract song in her head. “Hey! Lari!”
She glanced up from the panel under the center console station she was doing a quick cleaning on. “Yeah… what?” She snapped then shook her head. “Sorry, forgot Stone wasn’t here. What’s up, Narsen?” She stood up and walked over to the console the NE was monitoring.

NE Narsen shook her head. “I’m not sure. We had contact with the away team and now I can’t seem to keep a clear lock. I didn’t want to inturrupt, you know…” The poor woman was afraid of letting the DH know she wasn’t keeping in touch like she should.

Kristi shook her head and laughed before tapping out the command to reach out to the away team. =^=Hey, Boss?=^= She sounded light hearted but her own heart was thumping in her chest as Narsen also pointed out the coming storm front. =^= Everything ok down there? Seeing a storm coming your way and I hadn’t heard from you in a bit. You all ready to come back, yet?=^= She had the feeling she knew the answer, but she had to know he was ok and they were safe. Being on a planet that wasn’t working right, in a location that was hard to maintain a lock on, with the gods know what happening… the young woman was a bit more nervous and worried than she would ever admit.

Lance lookup to see the CE at a lost. He walked over to his screen and hit it hard it powered up and started to work. “ this old equipment you need to be rough with. Show it who’s boss”

Ensign Lance Von Hellsing (Helm/Wolf)

After a second or two, the console died completely. “Don’t worry about this, ensign, I’ll handle this console, try and see if you can get a status update from the other one, while i fix it.”

He then tapped his badge to reply. =/\=”Hey Kristi, glad to hear from you. Um.... there’s been a clear case of sabotage here. We’re trying to calibrate everything, but the console i’ve been working on died. I don’t know, maybe i misconnected something… there were many severed wires. And me without my tricorder.” =/\=

Lt. Mike Stone, CE

Lance looked at him “you need a tricorder” he went to his bag pulled a tool kit he pulled from the shuttle and a tricorder “I always bring back up” I always bring back up” he said giving the he CE the tool case and tricorder.

Ensign Lance Von Hellsing (Helm/Wolf)

“Yes, well my backup was with me in the pool.” Mike replied. “Thanks.” He said as he accepted the tricorder.

=/\= Stone to O’Larria, good news, I got a spare one from Ensign Hellsing. Mine got damaged when I beamed on the planet.=/\= He’ll tall her more about his advantues in the pool, and why he was wearing a size too small tracksuit.
He scanned the wires he fixed earlier.
=/\= So the power module has power, the reductor seems to be powered also, but the Afocal splitter has some wierd readings. Seems to drop every few seconds then return to nominal values. =/\= He explained to her what he saw.

He looked up from the console to T’pol. “Any idea how long we got, before the storm really hits us?”

Lt. Mike Stone, CE

OOC: Who’s T’Pol? :P
OOC: Eh, i’m bad with names....
Miha

IC: T’Prek quickly brought up an atmospheric scan to check. “The storm will impact us in 3 minutes, 43 seconds. I would suggest that more haste is required…” he added dryly as he peered at the rest of the readouts.

Stone had damaged his equipment?

That statement, in itself, made Kristi curious. But she’d get the story later. Right now the storm was bearing down and they needed help.

=^=Ok, Chief… =^= Kristi sat down at the console and started looking at what info she had. =^= Double check your power module. Make sure the readings are stable there. You could have fluctuation there that’s magnified at the splitter.=^= She moved a bit further up the line. =^=The other option is that your Afocal has a burr short in the split. If everything is good to there, pull the coupling sheath back to see if the insulator has melted at the inversion spot. They may be back feeding against one another. =^=

It was a long shot, but she hoped simply replacing the small shielding sleeve inside the splitter would stabilize the power thru it. She didn’t realize she was biting her lip while waiting for his response.

Kristi
Engineer

The power source was good. Mike checked that before. No power usualy ment a device that required it wouldn’t work, he learned that quick as an ‘engineer’.
Peeling back the insulator however was something he hasn’t done yet, and as he did he regreted it instantly. The thin metal held back more then just an eye sore.

=/\= Oh god does this smell bad. Everything is melted behind the insulation.. I guess we were lucky the console didn’t catch fire or exploded. I’ll attempt to make a bypass and hopefully it’ll work at least through the storm. =/\=

Not to get electrocuted, he deactivated the power module. “Lance, can you hand me the small laser cutter from my toolbox.... at least i hope it’s still working.”

Lt. Mike Stone, CE

Mother Hen

Lance found the needed tool and checked to see if it worked it did. He handed the tool to the engineer pulled a small pad from his bag a few minutes typing away on it then he brought up a schematic for the weather station. “ I just pulled these schematics before I came down I hope they will be useful” he hand the pad to the engineer.

Ensign Lance Von Hellsing (Helm/Wolf)

Kristi laughed. =^=Wow… if it works that good,
keep a piece of that insulation, boss. We can use it on the walls of a certain crewman’s quarters. The one who’s trying to create an additional ‘all hands lounge’ in the Junior Officers’ passageway.=^=

On more than one occasion Stone or another senior officer had been called to clear out the hallway and quarters of a crewman who thought personal gatherings could extend out into the common areas of the ship. It had wakened Kristi just a couple nights ago.

=^=If you can get the power to the array, at least, were can realign it to help break this front about to crash down on you. =^=

She hoped it didn’t get to much worse before they were able to fix things.

Kristi
Engineer

The cutter did it’s job, but now it was time to fill up the gap. The circuit that was behind the insulation wasn’t that important, at least in Mike’s eyes.
He quickly looked through his toolbox, to find something to replace it with. For a second he looked up from it at T’Prek, who was getting impatient.
“We’re getting there.” Mike said simply.

After he found a rather large nail, he took a hammer and hammered it for a bit, then inserted it where the circuit used to be.

“Um you may want to stand far away, as I switch this on.”

The station was small though, so if it exploded… it would hurt for sure.

With his eyes shut, Mike flipped the switch that activated the power array. No shower of sparks appeared, so Mike opened his eyes again.
“Ah, it’s working.. sort of.” he said. The console worked, but the display was rather dim. “Ok, i think i can work with this.”

=/\= Stone to Kristi.. I think we’re making progres now. Is there anything Viking can do to speed up the sinchronisation process.. we only have what.. 1 minute? =/\=
He looked at T’Prek again, who probably knew exacly how many seconds, till the storm hit them.

Lt. Mike Stone,CE

T’Prek checked his readings again and nodded. “1 minute 43 seconds Lt, anything we are going to try needs to be done now.” he said dryly.

Mother Hen

Soon a Beep came from the Computer terminal that Lance was working on the computer started to speak =^= main power restored at 75% System syncing with other weather stations at 80% starting system rotation storm dissipating at 50% 45% =^= soon the Weather outside was coming down it was just up for them to keep the system running until the storm was completely gone

Ensign Lance Von Hellsing (Helm/Wolf)

“ well he is cheerful” Luna said as she came back into the station. “ the rain is here on and i didn’t see anything” she said . Water dropped off her wings onto the floor.
Ensign Luna

“We have the system working,” Mike said “so you can hunker down with us until the storm calms down complately.”

He continued to monitor the syncronization and the console he repaired. “With any luck we can all leave in a couple of minutes back to the colony.”

Lt. Mike Stone, CE
