The young nurse gritted her teeth and locked eyes with Lucas, fighting whatever it was as best as she could. It felt as though there was a phaser trying to burn through into her brain.

Tutting to herself at Stein’s obliviousness, Doctor Brion gently put a hand on the Nurse’s cheek and pulled out a tricorder to scan her. She noticed her brain activity spiking and knew they may only have seconds to act. She quickly grabbed a hypospray and loaded it with Dylamadon. “Sorry Alicia, this won’t be pleasant…” she muttered as she pressed it into the young woman’s neck and administered the drug. Nurse Bright gasped in surprise before slumping onto Lucas’ lap. The doctor waited for a few seconds before gingerly getting up. “Get her on the bed!” she barked as she scanned again. As expected, the drug had slowed Bright’s heart rate and breathing down to an almost non-existent level, she only hoped it would be enough to deter whatever was trying to take hold of her mind.

OOC: I am so sorry for going AWOL, folks. I have had a busy week and just haven’t had a chance to post. I am going to fix that now!

IC: Stein took a step back when Alicia was hoisted up and left to slump in Lucas’ lap. When Bright went into the drug induced near-coma, he smiled to himself but shuffled back. “Well done. Seems she might live to see another day.” He looked around the room. “Who is up for tea?”

Dr. Stein

Lucas scooped the nurse up and set her gently onto the nearest empty bed. He smoothed her clothes out in the appropriate places as an afterthought before moving back to the other unconscious woman and likewise hoisting her up and to a free bed. He kept her bound still for the moment until the doctors make their determinations.

“I wouldn’t recommend ingesting any local foodstuffs doctor. ” Peter said as he watched the Security Chief do his job “We have no idea how widespread whatever this all is… well is” He chuckled grimly slightly at something not obvious “Doctor Brion, did your tricorder scans reveal anything about the entity in question?” He asked.

CIO

Brion sighed and shook her head. “Other than the slightly increased cerebral activity in the somatosensory cortex, I didn’t detect anything out of the ordinary in Lt Lazoh.”

Nevin quetly moved a nearby free console so as not to be in the way of the staff and began to plot some time-lines showing the Outposts activity logs and the first reports of the psionic induced incidents. Either the entity arrived here on a ship, or it had always been here and something that the Outpost crew did upset it. Either way he was fairly sure he would find something by arranging the data on the console in a visual layout…

-Akorem

The first incidents of hallucinations occured well before the Viking arrived at the colony, whatever the entity was, it had been here to begin with. As Akorem searched further back, there was an unusual gap in the records between the initial survey and the first work details arriving to begin setting up the colony.

Peter considered the information at hand. With only slight increases in brain functions and no obvious links, there wasn’t an easy way to track whatever was going on “Sir, could you put up the locations of every reported event. If our working theory is correct and this is an organized mind we might find some patterns they have missed, or indeed the lack of a pattern in itself could be a clue”

CIO

“Ofcourse,” Nevin said and began to tap to create a section of the display showing the information as location pins on a map. “What do you make of that gap?” he asked indicating to the text only list on the left hand side of the screen.

-Akorem

Peter looked at the indicated information and frowned as he read the gap “Nothing good, that’s for certain. I don’t suppose that there’s a big file that says ‘why we stopped giving updates for this time’, that would be too convinient” He said jokingly not looking from the screen “What was the last entry before the gap and the first entry after the gap?” He asked.

CIO

Lucas was watching over the general proceedings while keeping an eye to keeping them all safe.

The last entry from before the gap was from a survey team who were investigating a series of caves discovered on the outskirts of the colony boundary then there was a gap of 10 days before logs started up again, just after the survey teams had left the planet. The explanation given for the gap in the logs had been a large electric storm which had fried their computers and survey equipment, losing the logs from their systems.

Mother Hen

“Hmm,” Nevin said quite puzzled wonderring if log entries after that detailed some of what the survey team had found and where the caves were in relation to the colony itself.

-Akorem

OOC: I’m still here. Just waiting for a point to jump in on.
COS Mackenzie

“It might be a longshot but perhaps we should visit those caves, after we link up with the Captain” The Icelandic giant said after a moments thought “until we hear back from the other teams we won’t know exactly what’s going on by looking at incomplete records”

CIO

“Let’s give the doctors some space to do their work,” Nevin said, “Commander, Lieutenant. Walk with me.”

-Akorem

Lucas double checked that everything was well in hand before turning and followed the XO.
