Several months ago
It happened all the time. People appeared, disappeared, reappeared and disappeared again. Every day the personnel count on the Viking could fluxuate from 1 to as many as 10 people. Several decks were uninhabitable, cordoned off because they were a hazard. Nothing that could be fixed easily, yet no explanaition for why systems were failing.

She had been escorting a set of engineering workers to one of those decks when Kalika and the two Ensigns became part of those who ‘disappeared’ on that day.

Today

The hall lights were flickering. It wouldn’t have caught anyone’s notice except that there wasn’t supposed to be power on this deck. Without warning there was a loud scream, almost animalistic, then silence. If anyone investigated, there was a body, face down, on the deck. Sleeves and pant legs tattered as if the person had been living in them for years, or had been in a fight and lost. Skin over hands and face were lightly charred with second degree burns. Edges of the material also scorched on closer investigation. The light green skin hinted at someone with mixed Orion lineage. But with the collar torn, no rank badge, no comm badge and lack of consciousness, identity would only come if someone who knew Kalika before her disappearance was the one to come upon her. Only her tatters of her security uniform gave away she was from the Fleet.

Missing ex COS

OOC:Mind if I pop in?

David hadn’t been paying much attention to his surroundings but even half distracted he couldn’t have missed the way the lights were flickering. Even so he ignored them as part of just everyday Viking being the Viking. The scream though, the scream nearly scared half his wits about him and he found himself immediately he pulled his tricorder out, holding it as if he were holding a phaser and swinging it around him, while slowly backing into the wall.

As his heart slowed it’s racing and his breathing reverted back to normal he slowly stepped away from the wall, inching forward his eyes checking every blindspot he could think of. He had promised Cerenity that he wouldn’t become one of the ‘missing’ and he was determind to keep that promise. At least until he found his sister. Just as his brain was about to wonder down that path, his eyes caught sight of Darz’s body. His first thought was that it was Harry, back from the dead. But as he took stock of the body the Orion green skin, and yellow Security uniform, he knew it couldn’t be.

He knelt down next to Darz, stifling the disappointment with concern for this person laying before him - whoever they might be. His new patient might not be Harry, and maybe not even be able to give him any clues about his sister, but he felt compelled to help. The only medical equipment he had on him was his tricorder, but scanning her was a good place to start.

Dr Harrington

Viktoryia had been making sure the off limit area didn’t have any unwanted crew in them when she heard the scream. She nearly crashed into the doctor as she rounded the corner to see what had happened. The doctor had been covering her view, but as she halted before running into him she saw the yellow of the uniform, and her heart sank. Could it really be her she had been gone so long, but the captain remained hopeful as she stepped over the officer and knelt down across from the doctor.

“Is she going to be okay” she asked as her own heart tried to leap out of her chest. Kalika had been one of her closest friends before her disappearance, and often times Vik had been lost without her.

Viktoryia Ravenfall, CO

Her breathing, while slightly shallow, was steady. Her heart was the same, steady, thought not where it should be. And the skin, while burnt to second degree in some places didn’t look like it was any worse anywhere they couldn’t see.
