The ISS Cerberus was ready to depart on her maiden voyage. All she needed was a mission. And then a transmission came through from Command.

OOC Ummm Its Cerberus

KG!

I knew that. I’m not tired at all. Fixed

-Sam

Hearing the com go off Jean spoke up. “Captain! We have a message from Command. Do you want it sent to your chair, your ready room or the main viewer?”

Jean Renova Sciencey stuff

“On Screen” Gunnar said from his command chair. It was about time that they got their first mission.

CO

“Putting it up now sir!” He pressed a few buttons and it was done.

Astrid turned to watch intently wondering what their first mission would be let alone how fast the ship was going to need to get there

The Admiral from the commissioning ceremony appeared on the screen. “Captain. Bring the Cerberus out of dock immediately. An element of resistance to the empire has been identified. A group called ‘Freedom’s Ring’ is currently operating within the Kuiper belt. You are to find their leader, General Marcus Atwater and kill him. His ship is the” the admiral showed visible disgust “Freedom. Find it. Destroy it. Send a clear message.”

-GM

“Course laid in, sir.” Micha called over his shoulder almost automatically. As soon as he finished laying in the course, he rolled his sleeve up slightly and adjusted his wrist blade on one side, an evil grin on his face.

Micha Thoran, inquisitor

It was Astrid who spoke next “Helm Take us to warp,” she said giving the order to take them to warp and take them to find their Prey she knew her master might not be happy that she gave the command to make the jump but that could be dealt with later

Astrid

Ayla arrived on the bridge as they left space dock. Her pale Orion features were passive as she took her seat and began collecting the information they’d need for their trip.

As they travelled, additional intelligence arrived. This group was operating a group of 10 ships, the largest of which was the command ship, the Freedom. They were often poorly armed, but use of guerrilla tactics and the extensive cover of of the asteroid belt left them relatively protected. So far they had destroyed 12 imperial ships. The Cerberus would be their best armed and prepared foe.

She relayed the information to the Captain and set about making sure they were set to record everything. She took her communication duties seriously. And while it made her seem standoffish, she was merely focused. With no one to service or real job other than the seat she occupied, she was floundering a bit. All she could do was her duty and hope it was enough to fill in the gaping hole inside her that the previous CO’s departure had left.

A few hours later the Cerberus rested at the edge of the Kuiper belt. There was no immediate sign of hostile movement.

Jean Renova

-bump-

Jean was scanning but didn’t like the looks of it. Turning in his seat, “Captain. Permission to send out three long range probes?”

Jean Renova Science

Start with Sensors first if we can’t find the rebels with them then we will use probes to help work out a search pattern It is quite shocking that Rebels would actually be so bold to enter the Sol System the heart of the empire!” she said as she took her turn at the watch she was sitting in the Center chair

Astrid

“Roger that.”

Gunnar nodded “Start with a sensor sweep of the area, Tactical on full battle readiness, I want shields at full strength and engines primed and ready.” Gunnar added.

CO

“Yes sir!”

There was an engine trail leading further into the asteroid belt towards a large asteroid. The ship that left the trail wasn’t visible directly or by sensors yet.

-GM

“Sir! I got something! It’s a faint engine trail leading to the large asteroid. I’m sending the coordinates to you and the helm now.”

Jean Renova
