Andromeda had just arrived and instantly put her mind to seeing where she’d be working. She hummed happily as she approached the sickbay, seemingly not even noticing what was going on around her. Thrown objects and phaser shots flew right over her head, her short stature keeping her safe from friendly fire, and any disruptions didn’t stop her, or even slow her down. She finally arrived at sickbay and quickly identified her new DH, his distinctive appearance drawing her eye. “Doctor Ch’sheval.” She held her hand out expectantly. “Doctor DeLion. Andromeda.” She looked him up and down, then nodded, apparently satisfied.

Athinias glanced at the short woman who’d strolled through his sickbay to meet him. He had a PaDD in his hand and he’d been headed for his office. He didn’t remember being told he was getting a new doctor, but then again, he’d been busy. The slightly confused look faded from his face. He shook her hand. “DeLion. Wonderful. Uhm… Come, we’ll speak in my office. Then we can do your boarding physical.”

Andromeda smiled widely as she followed behind him, pleased at his lack of comment on her stature. “It is a little noisy out here,” she mused over the shouts and screams echoing from the hallway she had just entered from. “Well, a lively ship is a fun ship! Quiet is so boring, don’t you agree?” She laughed quietly to herself as she recalled her last ship, at the end, that ship had been boring as hell.

Athinias couldn’t be bothered to comment on her height, it wouldn’t affect her ability as a doctor anyway. And if he didn’t comment, when she inevitably found out he was half Andorian and half Human, perhaps he wouldn’t have to endure her comments about that. He lead her back to the CMO’s office, took a seat, and gestured for her to take a seat as well. “Quiet is boring, boring is safe,” he commented, and then added, “But yes, in terms of crew, lively does make for a better time.”

“Safety puts us out of a job,” she chirped as she sat down. “And really is it so hard for everyone to stop playing with weapons? Phasers aren’t even fun!” Andromeda pouted slightly, crossing her arms. “A knife though… a knife can be fun.” She shook her head, refocusing. “If they’re going to get hurt, they ought to have a better reason for it.” She sniffed lightly, as though the idea of being shot by a crew mate was ridiculous rather than a near daily occurrence.

Athinias raised a brow. “Phasers make for less cleanup.” He made a mental note to keep an eye on this doctor… he’d prefer the scalpels in the patients. “Less painful way to go, too,” He said, making a face. And for an Andorian, a phaser was certainly a way to go, even a minor phaser injury was serious for an Andorian. He shrugged as if neither comment unsettled him and said, “So, why this ship? Just assigned, or requested it?”

She saw the face, and knew exactly why he’d made it. That was it, the moment she became emotionally invested in her young chief. Pretending she hadn’t just become attached, Andromeda sighed heavily. “It got so boring on my last one… they scrapped the ship and scattered the eight of us.” No, Athinias hadn’t heard wrong. By the end of her last tour of duty, there were eight left alive. “They said you needed experience.” Her eyes gleamed with mischief. “Loyalty.” She may be experienced, but whoever had assigned her was sleeping on the job if they thought she was the poster girl for loyalty. “I don’t know why they think they need that.” Her airy, disconnected comments often caused people to underestimate her, but Andromeda hadn’t survived 40 years in the empire without being a little bit crafty. She knew what she was implying, even when she didn’t believe it.

Athinias did not flinch or even react to the information that there had only been eight people left alive on her last assignment. It was in all likelihood a large number of losses but between Athinias’ past with the rebellion and his time here, with the empire, he wasn’t particularly phased by that sort of information. “Loyalty doesn’t exist in this galaxy anymore.” Athinias commented with a shrug, “We can all hope for someone we can depend on, but around here that rarely happens.” He nodded his head towards Andromeda, “If there were only eight left alive on your previous assignment, and you were one of them, how were you not promoted?”

OOC: bump

OOC: I’m back… finally
IC:

Andromeda shrugged, seeming to gaze off into the distance. “It’s almost a failure, isn’t it? To have lost all but 7 patients.” The moment of lucidity passed as she refocused. “I’m not here to get promoted anyways. I’ve been having fun for years on all sorts of ships. This is just another one.” She stared at Athinias, categorizing him carefully. “Do you fight?”
