Lt. Cmdr. Bill Saunders walks up to the CO office. He rings the doorbell. As he enters, he says “Lt. Cmdr Bill Saunders reporting for duty. Captain, may I be frank with you? I’m really Capt. John Braxton of Star Fleet Intelligence. My orders are to find out the truth about what happens on this ship. Now, my orders for you is that only you know my real identity. You can not tell anyone who I really am. On this ship you will address as Lt. Cmdr Bill Saunders. In private you will address me as Captain John Braxton. Is that clear captain?”

Lt. Cmdr. Bill Saunders
Chief of Tactical

“Captain, with all due respect, I will address you as I see fit on my ship. As you have requested it, I will adhere but do not mistake my consideration for submission.” Aihia, who was a former Romulan operative herself, rose an eyebrow. “You have no authority to give me orders, Captain,” she leaned across her desk, clasping her hands together, “and while I appreciate your candid approach, I suggest you learn a little something about deference.”

“There is a chance we can become valuable allies to one another..I may even go so far as say we could be friends. However, that is not the way to address your commanding officer..psuedo or otherwise.” Aihia leaned back. “Why don’t you have a seat and we can begin this conversation as civil officers.”

“How about I started us off?” She shot him an brutal and yet almost winsome grin. “I am Captain Ael Aihia, welcome to the Dauntless, Mister Braxton.”

Capt. Aihia

“I’m sorry to be abrupt with you Captain, but that’s who I am.” Braxton said. “Actually Star Fleet Command has giving me the authority to give you orders. But as I’m Bill Saunders on this ship, I will ‘forgive’ that outburst of yours. Yes we can become allies, but if you blow my cover there will be problems. I will listen to your orders as Cmdr. Saunders. Now, Commander Bill Saunders reporting for duty, sir.” He said as he stood up at attention.

Lt. Cmdr. Saunders
Chief of Tactical

“Is that so, Cmdr?” Aihia rose an eyebrow, her gaze hardening. “I’d be more than happy to contact Starfleet Command on behalf of your claim.”

“You called my bluff, captain. You’re right, I can’t give you orders, but remember don’t blow my cover.” Braxton confessed.

“There is no time to play games when running a starship,” Ael responded, gesturing to the bridge in terms of dismissal. “You are dismissed.”

Cmdr. Saunders left the CO’s office and made his way to the bridge. Looking around the bridge, Saunders went to his station at tactics.

OOC: Fun fact- Dauntless doesn’t have a bridge. Instead, she has a Combat Information Center (CIC) which operates as one, with additional tactical and security support! Along with this, the CIC is located on Deck 23, rather than the traditional Deck 1 for any bridge like structure. :)
OOC (When were you gonna tell me that. LOL)

OOC: All of our ship’s information can be found here: https://www.star-fleet.com/library/bookshelf/tm/mjolnir.html and is always accessible by the Ship’s MOTD. :D

IC:
The tactical station, unlike most ships, was set before the viewscreen in a horseshoe shape, accompanied by Helm and Operations, which share the same panel. His station was directly beside Operations, where a young Orion man was running scans over the panels’ systems to ensure peak performance.

Captn. Aihia, CO

When Cmdr. Saunders got to his station, he found it was next to the Ops station. He introduced himself to the Orion that was manning the Ops station. “I’m Cmdr. Saunders, Chief of Tactical.” Saunders said to the Orion officer next to him.

Lt. Cmdr. Saunders
Chief of Tactical

“Welcome aboard,” The Orion grinned. “It’s about time someone took the head of Tactical. For the last month it’s been three different Lieutenants. Granted, they’re all amazing at what they do..but I prefer a little consistency in the people I work with.” He chuckled. “Lt. Razzan, Chief Ops.”

NLt. Razzan, Operations

“Don’t worry Lt., I’ll be around here for a while. What happened to the other chiefs, I mean three tactical chiefs in a month? Is there any problems with this position?”

“Nope, not at all. The initial chief, Lt. Cmdr. Prentis was transferred a few months ago; she was offered a Professor position at Starfleet Academy, so she left to teach there. After that, her assistant chief, Lt. Aswan stepped in, but he contracted an illness while planetside and was forced to bedrest until he recuperated. The second acting chief, Lt. JG Bassi had a family emergency and asked to be transferred to a starbase, where he could help. Finally, we have Lt. O’Hare. They’re still kicking.”

Saunders asked. He wondered why the change in this position happened so often. “So what’s the routine here? How’s the captain, what is she like?” Saunders inquired.

“I don’t know her, personally, but on the outside she is a force to be reckoned with. She doesn’t let anything slide on this ship. I haven’t been one to feel her wrath, nor has anyone who is currently on this ship, but there was a mission where the Dauntless crew was threatened and..well, I was a junior Lt. back then, but you can kind of assume.” He indicated her Romulan heritage. “Really, she’s your standard military-born Romulan. Phlegmatic. Calculating. Fierce. Although, sometimes I question if there is some humanity beneath the surface..” He shrugged with a light chuckle, “A crew can hope, right?”

“Yea, her being part Romulan would be a force to reckon with. But remember she is still the Captain of the Dauntless.” Saunders said.
“I hope we can become friends. I mean even tho I’m a Lt. Cmdr., don’t be intimidated by my presence.”

Lt.Cmdr. Saunders
Chief of tactical

“Rank doesn’t mean anything to me, unless it has to do with a serious situation.” He shrugged, unbothered by the prospect of his superior position.

Lt. Razzan, Ops

OOC:Fixing post.

“Very good Lt.” Saunders said. “Now let’s see what this tactical station can do.” Knowing he has a confident within Lt. Razzan, Saunders can trust the Lt.

Just then crystal entered the CIC she was closely followed by snowflake. The large cat quietly coughs the smell of the new comer on in the Tactical station. He yipped at crystal. Crystal smiled at the cat and pet his head. “ Do you want to meat the new tactical officer” she asked the snow leopard the cat sat. She looked up to the tactical officer. “ so any news “ she asked her ice blue eyes stuffed him carefully.
Crystal marine CO

“UH…That’s…That’s a big cat!” Saunders said nervously. He reached out to pet the cat. “She’s…purring!” Saunders petted the cat for a while, the purring sound relaxing him a little. Remembering he was on duty, Saunders answered Crystal, “Uh no sir, everything is normal. Nothing special to report. By the way sir, that is a beautiful cat you have.”

Lt. Cmdr. Saunders
Chief of Tactical

Snowflake purred when the tactical officer pet him. Crystal ears dropped back as she watched him carefully. Something about his reaction did not genuine most that were intimidated by snowflake did not try to get him. Snowflake uttered a low growl when Saunders called him a She. He then walked away from the officer going to the other side of crystal. Crystal giggled “ she is a he and thank you for both the report and the compliment. When did you get aboard?” She asked still watching him carefully.
Crystal Marine CO

“First, I apologize for calling Snowflake a ‘she’, and secondly, I came aboard a few days ago.” Saunders said. “I just didn’t realize that a snow leopard was on this ship. Forgive me for that. Saunders turned to talk to Snowflake, and said “I’m sorry”. Then he faced Crystal, “I’m getting familiar as Chief of Tactical. I’m pleased to meet you Major.”

Crystal’s ears perked up and focused on him like radar dishes. “ it’s ok most people do that he’s pretty and everybody atomically this girl” she said with a giggle. “ I am not supposed you have not heard of him in presence on board is need to know and permission for him to be here was granted by star fleet. It’s is nice to meat you to you the security chief and I should find time to sit down and chat it’s very likely that we will need to coordinate efforts on future missions some joint trading would be a good idea as well being in Marine special forces thought me one thin it was to be ready for as many sinareos as possible. You specialty is tactics are you able to defend yourself or are you only a tactician?” She asked she half wondered if he was someone her teams would end up babysitting.
Crystal Marine CO

“I’m a specialist in all forms of tactical procedures. I’m able to fire any type of phasers, and any other tactical weapons as needed. I would like to discuss future missions with you and the security chief.” Saunders said. “When would you like to have this meeting?”

Lt. Cmdr. Saunders
Chief of Tactical

“ when will you be done with bridge duty I’ll ask ask the Chife and see when would be the best time for all of us” crystal said with a smile.
Crystal Marine CO

“1400 hours. Just call me when you know where and when we can meet.”
Lt. Cmdr. Saunders
Chief of Tactical

“ perfect have a nice shift it was nice to meet you”. Crystal said with a smile she turned and fell the bridge snowflake followed close behind her.
Crystal Marine CO

“Nice to meet you too, sir and your cat.”

Max had just stepped out of the ready room at this time, he had previously taken a video call and was preoccupied during that small meeting. He sighed. He didn’t quite like attending these impromptu meetings without preparation, but none-the-less he still managed to work with what he had. He was just back back over to the command chair when he had noticed an Officer he did not immediately recognize. Despite being fairly new aboard the Dauntless himself, he had grown somewhat familiar with the crew.

He then walked over to greet the officer. “Lieutenant Commander, I don’t believe we’ve had the opportunity to meet yet? I’m the Executive Officer here, Max Saunders.” He smiled warmly as he extended his hand to him. He wore a warm smile and had the characteristic black eyes of a betazoid, despite only being half-betazoid. It seemed he won the genetic lottery when it came to that as it was typically very rare for that to occur.

“Sir.” Saunders turned to face the XO, and standing at attention, he said, “Lt. Cmdr. Bill Saunders, Chief of Tactical. Please to meet you, sir.” Noticed that they shared the same name, Bill said, “Sir I noticed we have the same name, but I don’t believe we are related.”

Lt. Cmdr Saunders
Chief of Tactical

“At ease Commander, at ease!” He used his hand that he had extended for a handshake and paired it with his other to shake them in dismissal indicating there was no need to be formal here. He mused, “At least we’re not related that we know of yet, my father was human after all.” Hoping the small quip would break the ice a little bit.

“I don’t often see a new face, but we were expecting our new CTO sometime soon, though it must have slipped my mind, my apologies.” He glanced at a couple of the holo screens that were up, just to keep up to date with the most information in regards to operations and intelligence in regards to the ship and it’s surroundings. “I do hope the trip wasn’t too terrible out this way?”
