Do you want to examine a room, or just the general facilities?” : : : : : : : : : : -Lt.(j.g.) Dan Vladar : : : : : : : : “All of it, L-T. We have to sweep everything. Sorry. But Regulations are very specific. You pick, and we will start and go from there.” : : : : : : : : Ri’Thiq, Marine Liaison : : : : : : “Room by room? That’s fine.” He went to the first door. It swished open and he stepped inside. “Room number one.” He gestured for the Major to come in. : : : : Ri’Thiq entered and began scanning with an tricorder, sweeping every inch of the room and it’s furnishings. : : : : Ri’Thiq, Marine Liaison : : Dan followed him in. “Anything in particular we’re looking for?” : : -Lt.(j.g.) Dan Vladar “Eavesdropping and surveillance equipment, sabotage, bombs… anything that could prove detrimental to the delegates from each side.” Ri’Thiq replied while looking at his tricorder and sweeping every square inch of the first room with the device and his eyes. Ri’Thiq, Marine Liaison

“So, everything.”

=^=Captain to Major Ri’Thiq and Lieutenant Vladar,=^= The voice came through, =^=How Are the checks coming along?=^=

Captain Aihia
CO

=/\=Slow but steady. We’re scanning the diplomats’ quarters now.=/\= Dan scanned the room with his eyes. A bomb or surveillance equipment should jump out to trained eyes. He opened his tricorder and added an extra layer to his search.

-Lt.(j.g.) Dan Vladar, CoS

=^=Understood, keep the Commander or I, updated.=^= Aihia requested, =^=Aihia, out.=^=

Captn. Aihia
CO

Ri’Thiq watched as the Cos scanned and nodded in approval. As he did so, Vladar’s tricorder showed an almost imperceptible rise in background radiation near the sleeping area of the room they were in.

Spiral Vortex, ST

“Major. Hold. Small rise in background radiation.” He indicated the direction. He advanced toward the source to get a look at it.

-Lt.(j.g.) Dan Vladar

R’Thiq watched as Vladar scanned the area. The tricorder did not find anything specific, but as the Security Chief got closer to the bulkhead separating this room from the next quarters, the signal rose slightly.

Vortex

He kept walking until he was almost touching the bulkhead. At that point, he surveyed not only his tricorder, but examined each panel to search for any sign of tampering.

-Lt.(j.g.) Dan Vladar, CoS

There were no signs of tampering, but the signal seemed to indicate the source may be in the next room.

Vortex

Dan disengaged and started to move off. “Next room. Careful if you come with me. Radiation. Unpredictable weapon types associated with radiation. Including some bombs I’d rather not think about.” He made his way into the hall and to the door of the next room. He opened the door and had the slightest of looks in.

Lt.(j.g.) Dan Vladar, CoS

The radiation was minimal as the door opened, and looking in the currently unoccupied room revealed nothing out of the ordinary.

R’Thiq took up a position opposite the Security Chief and, using his own tricorder, said “The signal seems stronger towards the bathing area.” as he indicated the right side of the room.

Vortex

Dan nodded. He proceeded slowly into the room and toward the bathroom. He put his hand on a phaser, brought with him as a formality. Security officers have to be armed on a sweep of an area like this. He never would’ve expected to even touch it. He crept up to the bathroom and then stopped outside. He checked that moving through the doorway was safe, no devices in place there. He signaled for the Major to hold back. He was probably being over cautious, but he’d seen too much to just blunder in.

-Lt(j.g.) Dan Vladar, CoS

There was nothing indicative of anything out of the ordinary in the small bathroom, save for another minuscule spike in background radiation which appeared and then immediately dissipated. If Vladar had not been looking specifically for such signs, the odds of him noticing it would be very slim.

Vortex

“That’s weird.” Dan almost whispered. “Major. The spike dropped out of nowhere. Something’s definitely up.” He moved into the bathroom, looking for anything out of place.

-Lt.(j.g.) Dan Vladar, CoS

The Major nodded and stood at the door, surveying the space behind Vladar. As the Security Chief looked around the room, he noticed a small distortion in the glass of the mirror above the sink, low and centered just above the frame mounting it to the wall.

Vortex

Dan scanned the mirror before lifting it from its mount, slowly, carefully. He scanned the area behind both with his tricorder and his eyes. He hoped to catch sight of a device, or at least some outlet.
