The tv flickered as a slight tracking problem slowly devolved into the evening’s B movie destroying itself and the VCR. “Son of a…” Realising no one was there to watch Black Eagle with him, Sam sat back and watched the static for a moment. What do I do now? He looked around. Book? Maybe. Write? Unlikely. Some other kind of tv? That’s it. His stomach grumbled After some food. He meandered down the hall, wondering what to reheat. I made fried rice yesterday. That might be good.

Watching a bowl of rice turn in the microwave, Sam wondered if he should start looking for a regular job. A little bit of security is always nice. Emily would probably appreciate if I had something real going on. Maybe. He anticipated the microwave’s beeping and opened the door, a slight roll of steam emerging. He took his dinner and headed back towards the couch.

It seemed UPS had left their floodlights on again as a blue light filled the room. It felt oddly constricting though.

Waking up on what felt to be an unfamiliar floor, Sam rubbed his eyes and struggled to believe what he saw. I don’t remember living in space.

-Sam

It would have taken Sam a couple of minutes to get his bearings his eyes blurry, his head fuzzy. It would have been had for him to understand that one minute he was sat in his home pondering consuming fried rice the next minute he moved 400 years through time and space.

Once Sam had composed himself he would kind himself laid on the ground in the center of a large open space on what looked like a large runway looking up he would see that the room seemed to span both outwards and upwards looking like the size of a large shopping center. Looking to both his left and right he would find an array of large aerodynamic shuttle-like vehicle shackled to the ground. They were nothing like a Tesla car or GMC Truck he would often see driving about the streets.

Looking directly ahead he would find a large open window like space with a retracted shutter the other side the appeared to be the great unknown that is space but obviously as Sam would know. In the 21st century that isn’t possible so surely it was some sort of green screen CGI image or a hologram of sorts.

Sam would also observe that the walls and ceilings were emitting a pulsing grey light. In addition to seeing that everything looked to be brand new as if never touched or moved.

OOC: The grey lights refer to grey mode a mode used on starships to power everything down and conserve energy.
