A regular day was pretty boring. Work and TV, most days. Nothing special, not ever. Just the same thing over and over and over. It was mindnumbingly boring. That’s why Nicole’s life goal was to travel. To see as much of the world and to learn as many things as possible before getting too old to do so. But for now, work and TV. That was it. As it was, she drove home, listening to instrumental music through the 2008 Toyota Avalon’s added-on bluetooth system, thinking about the boring drawl of life.

Nicole tried to make it manageable. It had taken longer than she wished it would’ve but she’d finally found a goal in life, approximately two years ago. Medicine. She was to be a doctor. Unfortunately, because of her high school grades, she hadn’t quite started studying yet. But she would! No question! And then, she’d be a doctor and with her vacations, she’d travel the world. That sounded perfect.

She got out of the car at home, grabbing her iPad from the glove compartment and her bag from the trunk. She put the iPad in the bag, and then slung the bag over her shoulder. Shoving her keys into her right pocket, she ran a hand over her left pocket, counting four fountain pens and her phone, and then she turned and went into the apartment building. It was a large arch leading into a cement hallway with cement stairs leading up to the first floor (second floor), and just to the left, the apartment she shared with her mother and 4 years older brother.

Half the way up the stairs, she paused suddenly, grabbing the hand rail. A dizzy spell. Actually, it was a bout of lightheadedness - she’d looked up the definition. The room didn’t spin, she just suddenly felt very… not good. She wasn’t good at identifying feelings or sensations. But it was common for her. It would pass in less than a second.

Except it didn’t. She began to feel dizzier, and this time, the hall did feel like it was spinning. She gripped the hand rail tighter. She’d tripped down flights of stairs before. Not today.

A blue light appeared in front of her, just a little blip, and she wondered if her eyes were being weird. But the light grew rapidly, becoming intense and blindingly bright, and as it grew, it fully enveloped her, and all she saw was blue light. She felt like she was falling, falling… and then everything went dark, and the stairwell was empty.

Nicole was gone.

She awoke with a snap, on a hard, cold floor. Tile, or something like it. Sitting up, she could swear she was dreaming.

Around her were futuristic medical equipment. The Sickbay of a starship.

It took a few minutes but finally, the intense blue light had faded revealing a dazed and confused female no longer standing in the stairway making her way to her 21st-century apartment. But now lying unconscious on the floor of the Memorial Class, USS Dauntless a futuristic 24th-century starship. More specifically the floor of the ship’s main sickbay located on Deck 7.

Now awake feeling less dazed Nix sat up looking around noticing that she was no longer stood on the stairway feeling dizzy but now sat on the floor in the center of a large futuristic medical bay of some sorts she would make the observation of a central medical bed to the center of the room with some sort of scanner overhead with several other beds dotted around the room each with there own set of diagnostic equipment situated to the left.

Grey lights could be seen flickering from about the room creating an ominous feeling. Perhaps she had fallen down the staircase and this was all a dream or the blue light may have truly transferred her to another time and space specifically 400 years across time and space.

OOC: The grey lights refer to grey mode a mode used on starships to power everything down and conserve energy.

It could be a dream, right? But no, she knew dreams, and in them, she never questioned it as a dream. Always just accepted it as reality. And this… felt real. She could hear the sounds of the ship, smell the interior smell… which smelled new. But it was too bizarre to be real. Unless she’d been kidnapped and taken to some really expensive set, this was really a star ship. But how?

She frowned, standing up off the floor, and took a look around the area. And she saw no one else. If this was a star ship, shouldn’t there be crew, going about their lives? Shouldn’t there be… doctors and stuff? This looked like the Sickbay. But it looked different than she expected. She frowned once again, trying to recall the show. Why hadn’t she watched more Star Trek? She wasn’t even sure what century this was.

Taking a couple of steps forward Nix would find an open doorway leading to what would normally be the CMO’s office the room was desserted but on the desk a large mug of what would smell like arabic bean coffee would be steaming hot directly next to it a futuristic looking notepad with a to-do-list typed on it. Although confused by the clearly futurist device tapping it would set up beems, chirps and chimes but they would not alarm her. Upon the pad it would read the following.

Job Title Priority
Confirm DH Physicals Least important
Have the chief engineer programme different coffee flavours Vital
