“I’m sure we all know what the legal books say on artificial life.” He waved a stiff hand. “Obviously I aint that.”

“Would you mind a ‘boarding physical’ down in engineering some time Mr. Tock?”

Bog

This time Tock leaned back slightly as the bartender eyed up Bog. “I ‘spose I coulda been damaged in transit. Good idea Mr. Bog!” Tock raised a hand for a high five.

-Tock-

Casela nodded turning around to look at Tock, “Not a bad idea, Tock. We need to make sure you stay healthy. And we’d need a baseline for that.” She glanced at Bog. “I’d be happy to lend a hand. We could get your boarding psych eval done too, Tock.” Because there was something creepy about his personality she’d like to examine.

He may be many things but a bigot wasn’t one of them, Bog met the raised hand with his own. “Counselor you might not be what I would consider pretty but your a hell of woman otherwise. I will enjoy working with you this tour.” Turning to the lieutenant he extended his hand.

Casela reached out and shook his hand, “I as well Mr. Bog. You are going to do exceptionally well here. I am looking forward to you keeping the engineering crews on their toes.”

He didn’t care about the law, destroying artificial life or imprisoning genetically modified ones didn’t sit well with him. As far as he was concerned Tock was crew, so was the doctor for that mater.

Bog

Casela knew the laws about artificial life, she’d been drilled in them before using an AARM the first time. Life was life and she didn’t like the idea that the Federation thought they had the right to decide. But…so many factors. The best she could do is to make a judgement on her own each time she was faced with the decision.

Tock’s glare returned to Casela. There was no expression to read however the delay before the words came suggested some kind of puzzlement. “If it would please you counsellor. However, I should be clear, I am a memory storage unit with a veil of personhood present to make myself approachable.”

-Tock-

“Of course Tock, but it would help to know, then if something happens to your program we would know. Just like Mr. Bog here taking a look at your physical/engineering health. But it would be totally up to you, Tock.” If he was simply a memory storage unit he wouldn’t display puzzlement over the request. He would have a protocol for it and would state what it was and then continue with his program. She had a feeling there was much more to Tock than he realized. She glanced at Bog and raised a brow in Tock’s direction.

Bog just shook his head and chuckled. “Careful Tock she will make a real little boy out of you” he agreed there was much more to the clock work man than he let on.

“So Bog, another one to celebrate your lack of escort?”

Downing the dregs of his beer, he sat it down. “ A wonderful idea, dear lady.” Eyeing Tock, another my good man!” Calling him a man was plenty of an insult in Bog’s mind.
