It was three in the morning station time when NE Fitzsimmon’s control panel beeped that a ship dropping out of ward had been detected. “What the…?” the heavy-lidded Operations officer said as he pulled his feet off the terminal desk and leaned forward. “We don’t have any ships scheduled incoming…” The ship was too far away for identification, but it appeared to be Federation. NE Fitz turned and looked at the Watch Officer currently in the Command chair. “Ma’am, I have an unidentified vessel just dropped out of warp at the outer-most edge of our sensor range. I think… wait. Ma’am, we are being hailed.”

“On screen.” Lt. (jg) M’stok said. The Vulcan stood up as the screen lit up showing the face of an Antican dressed in the uniform of Star Fleet and wearing the pips of a Vice Admiral. The canine-humanoid looked up, scowled, and said “Where is your Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Junior Grade? Why are they not on the bridge?” in a tone indicating extreme displeasure.

Nonplussed, the Vulcan simply arched an eyebrow and said respectfully “Sir, the Commanding Officer is most likely in his quarters at this time. I will call him to the Command Deck immediately. If you could let me know what this is in regards to, I-” and the Antican cut her off. “Do I look like someone that needs to explain myself to a junior officer, Lieutenant Junior Grade? Do I?” he asked, his voice getting more and more agitated with each word. “No, Sir. I will get the Captain immediately.” as she reached down to tap the station comms the screen blanked out, the call terminated from the other end. At that moment, the NE who detected the ship tapped a few commands into his console and the ship and Vice Admiral in command of it’s identities were conveyed to her. She looked, and even through her Vulcan stoicism, a look of dread was briefly visible. An automated file beamed from the ship, the Interror, conveyed a set of of previously unknown orders to the station as well.

=/\= Command Deck to all Senior Officers. Please report to the Command Deck immediately. Star Fleet Inspector General is incoming… with his staff. We are being inspected. =/\=

So It Begins

Ferl’lak heard the announcement from his quarters. It wasn’t relayed through his quarters but he had something akin to a police scanner. “Inspector General hey?…” He murmured to himself and smiled. Then it went to a frown. “I can’t let him fail this station and replace its current commander. I need him and he allows for certain.....activists of mine and a new CO wouldn’t allow that since no doubt he or she will be handpicked by the inspector general…if not already. I got to help and be on my best behavior.”

He got up and put on his best blue suit and left for the turbolift. He ran back inside his quarters and picked up his “checkbook”. “Might have to grease some wheels for this.” He stated has he placed it in his right inside coat pocket.

He made his way back to the turbolift and just waited inside it. He will just ride it until the CO or XO or someone with bridge access comes into it. Since this was an inspection. It did concern him since he was head of civilian operations. If he couldn’t get on the bridge then he would make up a conference room with all the fixings for the Admiral and his entourage.

OOC: I don’t know if I’m allowed to participate now or later so I have him two options. Plus I needed to post.

Ferl’lak

OOC: Even though a civilian, you are part of the Command Staff, so you are most welcome.

IC: Stout was in bed, but not asleep. That was something that eluded him most nights. =/\= On my way. =/\= he grumbled. He got and threw on a uniform from his closet. He went to the replicator and picked up the coffee mug that was always generated when the computer detected him moving around his quarters after he went to bed and then walked to the turbo lift. As the doors opened, he yawned broadly and gave a half-nod to Ferl’lak. “Command Deck. Morning. Or whatever the hell time it is. And this guy better not expect a fromal reception at this hour with no notice. I don’t care if he is the General of the Universe. This is not the way to get on my good side.” he said flatly and took a drink.

Stout, CO

“Morning Captain. And it is about 0310 hours, station time.” He said cheerfully. “Is this Admiral going to pose a problem?” And this time not so cheerfully.

Ferl’lak

OOC: Merging

The message found Scott asleep in his quarters. “Mumph,” he groaned to the dark room, “IG’s are the worst…” He pulled his pillow up over his head and buried himself into the warm confines of the mattress, hoping it all had been a bad dream. Eventually, resigning himself to the notion that it wasn’t a dream, he threw the pillow off and stood up.

Still dirty from the previous day he stumbled towards the sonic shower, growling at the replicator, “Coffee…” As the waves removed the dirt and sweat from his body he sighed, waking up even more and then making his way to the closet. Almost by habit he reached for the utility overalls but then remembered this was a management meeting not a working session and grabbed his duty uniform instead, pulling the golden undershirt over his head with a grunt and making sure the pips were properly aligned.

After the whole ensemble was properly fitted he stumbled towards the door, the turbolift, and finally the bridge. During the whole trip he managed to wake up properly and entered the command center looking as if he had been awake and ready to go for at least a couple of hours.
