=^=Omni to Lt. Balashov. Where are you at this current moment?=^=

Omni mulled over her conversation with the Chief of Police. Ever since their brief misunderstanding when they had first met, she was finding it easier to respect him. Considering his views and the situation at hand, she figured it would be unwise to stall much longer than the time it took to get from one area of the shipyard to the next. Silently, she awaited response.

Yuri was currently cross checking his logs to make sure they were all in order and cleaning all the surfaces of medical in preparation for their unexpected guest when he heard the Lieutenant Commander through the comm systems. He set the rag down and tapped his communicator.

=^= Balashov here Commander, currently in Medical.. do you need assistance?=^=

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

(Friendly bump)

=/\=I need to speak with you in private, Doctor. Do you have a few moments to spare?=/\=

While Omni awaited response, she made her way down the halls, hardly realizing the ease she was able to walk with, after the adjustment to her physical stance. She wondered how the good doctor would take all of this, but she didn’t overthink the outcome.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

OOC: AHH how did I miss this?!

IC: =^= Of course Commander, would you like to come to Medical or is there someplace you would prefer?=^=

=/\=Medicine is fine; I will be there in a few minites.=/\=

Yuri waved one of the busy nurses over. “Ensign Richards, please continue cleaning surfaces. I must attend to something.”
The Ensign nodded and hurried over to continue as Yuri went towards the back to his office to collect one of his medical PaDD’s and a tricorder just in case.

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

Omni navigated the shipyard, her muscle memory guiding her more than conscious thought. Tracing steps all over the establishment, time after time again, made it difficult not to recall every place one passed. Finding her way to the sickbay, she stepped in, her face unflinching and unresponsive to many of the nods she got from the people she passed. She was focussed moreso on the task at hand. Heading for his office, she pressed the chime.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

“Please, please, come in.” Yuri was sitting at his desk hunched over at the moment pulling things out of one of the drawers in his desk. Seemed to be some older lab equipment along with a stack of older PaDD’s scattered about his desk. He peeked back over the top of the desk as he heard the door open “Ah, Commander. Please have seat! How can I help?” He stopped what he was doing and sat up straight to give her the courtesy of his attention.

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

“It seems you have been busy, Lieutenant.” When she spoke, her voice was dry and without much inflection. She peered about the room, but nothing came to pique her interest. Taking a seat, she crossed on leg over the other. “I hope to make this quick, as not to disturb your day further. However, I have information from the Police Chief. Information he requires you to have,” She followed him with her eyes, her azure gaze intense.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

He raised his hand with his palm out, shaking it. “It’s quite alright Commander, most of the things are complete, mostly just cleaning at this point.” He tilted his head to the side at the mention of the Chief. “Information he requires me to have?” Last Yuri remembered he didn’t really have any sort of medical background, perhaps there was more to the police chief than he knew? “What sort of information if you do not mind me asking?”

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

“I cannot say much of what it contains. However, I am assuming an autopsy report of some kind. I cannot say for certain, due to a lack of necessity for looking into it. However, I am sure it is nothing outside of your wheelhouse, Lieutenant.” Omni informed him, narrowing her azure gaze to small slits, compensating for the lighting differences between the Sickbay and the Police Chief’s Office. “Along an akin topic, how has the Sickbay been? Are you all coming along well for setting it up?” As the XO, it was as equally her job to carry out the orders of the Captain, as it was to check up on those the orders were intended for.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

OOC: Going to go with you visiting before the Chief on this thread since I think yours originally started before James posted his!

IC: “Autopsy ..? Most straight forward. Analysis of how individual died. If another practitioner did autopsy I wonder what he would need from me?” This piqued Yuri’s curiosity. The only reason someone would ask another medical professional about an autopsy is if someone disagreed with the cause of death. Yuri scratched his beard in thought, almost missing the Commander’s follow up question. “Ah, yes, yes, yes. Sickbay coming together well. Some equipment might be outdated, but still functioning and can make it work so it is no problem.” The heavy Russian accent bled through quite extensively at the last 4 words. It was around that time that he noticed the Commander’s eyes, he thought their color was probably one of the more interesting he’s seen on a person, but the pupil Miosis could be one of two things, a bit of stress or more likely, his lights were too high. The lights in medical were usually always set for full illumination so that medical personnel could see what they’re doing as to not make mistakes. “Sorry to ask Commander, but are lights too bright in here ..?”

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

“I assume he would desire a second opinion on the matter, to understand what it was reading. Most of the time, a scientist will go to two other people, before he makes his decision on exactly what he’s seeing. This could easily be the same, Lieutenant.” Omni remarked, a sense of contemplation coming across a voice whose tone and accent were indistinguishable with the lack of knowledge towards her homeworld. Not to mention, she usually wore a universal translator, just in case she slipped into her native language, being a relatively new speaker of Federation Standard. Luckily, it managed to make her voice clear and precise. Catching his slip into the Russian accent, she found it curious. It was definitely one of the sharper human accents she had heard, but it was not unpleasant. Interesting, truly. “I am pleased to hear the bay is coming together, doctor. With you at its head, it should prosper quite well.” Azure eyes; rare amongst most species in the Federation. For hers, however, it was one of the four striking colours irises appeared in. Hers, though, were a bit more rare than the emerald green, intense amber or sterling grey. “They are fairly illuminated, but I should be fine, thank you.”

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

“You are too kind Commander, though lights are not too much of an issue in office.” Yuri looked up towards the ceiling, though knowing that the computer could hear from anywhere you looked. “Computer, lights at one half illumination for just office.” The lights dimmed, there was still plenty light for Yuri to see everything he needed, but it was definitely a good change from the full illumination of the medical lights. “I will definitely do my best to ensure that Medical functions in proper order.” He thought for a moment before asking, “For the autopsy report .. do we know who individual is?”

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

Omni had never been deemed ‘kind’ before, as it was a trait many did not associate with anyone who had any history with the Assimilation. Unsure of how to respond, she merely inclined her head, hoping it was satisfactory enough for the good doctor to accept. The light’s dim began to have a calm impact on her stance, allowing her to relax against the strain of keeping her eyes squinted. With her optical system, and her own species (who lived their lives on a rather overcast and gloomy planet), light was something she was sensitive to. “Thank you, Lieutenant.” Quirking an eyebrow, she tilted her head slightly to one side. “I will leave that up to Chief Pikelsimer to tell you. It is nobody’ place but his own.”

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

Yuri nodded to her thanks with a small smile before digging around in the drawer again for a moment. “I will have to keep that in mind when talking to Chief. Most reports are straight forward so I do not anticipate anything out of the ordinary.” Yuri pulled a couple of old looking books out of the drawer, though they seemed to be well cared for. “Oh this is rare .. actual book.” Yuri looked over the covers and backs of the books before stacking them one by one on an open corner of the desk.

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

Omni quirked a curious eyebrow over at the man, “Where did you retrieve them from?” She inquired. Her planet had not gotten away from scrolls and books similar to those humans used. Thus, seeing a book was not all too surprising to her, beyond the time that had lapsed since she had returned to her planet, which rested hundreds of light-years away. Watching the books, an unmistakable curiosity about her gaze, Omni fell silent.
