It was only a short interval by the time Yuri last spoke with the Captain to when he stood in front of his office. He hadn’t seen a trace of Chief Pikelsimer on his way to the office. The information he provided to the Chief was mostly informational, but something just didn’t sit right with him on how detailed he wanted to get into the substance that killed the individual in the report. Frowning, still trying to figure out what the Chief had been thinking he depressed the chime by the Captain’s door.

Lieutenant Yuri Balashov (CMO)

The doors opened to reveal the Captain’s office. Stout was seated at his desk reviewing something on a PaDD and looked up as Yuri enetered. “Heya, Doc. Sit. What’s on your mind?”

Yuri walked in and took a seat, though it was apparent that he was uncomfortable for some reason. “I am not quite sure how to explain Captain. I have just spoken with Mr. Pikelsimer in regards to some sort of autopsy that he had a record of. I have no idea who the individual was.” Yuri re-adjusted the way he sat to try and become a little more comfortable, giving a pause.

Stout simply looked at the doctor with an expressionless face and said “Ok. And…? You have concerns or something, Doctor?”

“Well ..” He scratched his beard in thought. “I think the autopsy might have feel falsified. It claimed that cause of death was Hypoxia, which is true, but not what caused it. I believe whoever it was, was most likely poisoned. Specifically envenomed. There are few species of snakes on Earth capable of neurotoxic and hemotoxic properties. Mr. Pikelsemer wanted extensive details on how venom worked along with how to transport it and viability of shelf life. Something did not feel right with the way he wanted this knowledge. It borderlines obsessive behaviors Captain.”

Stout didn’t move or even blink as Yuri spoke. Once he was done, Stout looked at him intently for a few moments, not moving or saying a word. Finally… he lifted the coffee cup to his lips and took a drink, his eyes never leaving Yuri. Setting the cup down, Stout said “Ok. And what do you propose I do about this, Doctor? What would like to see done, I should ask…”
