Stout finished up the preliminary assessment of the Dawkens and tapped his comm badge.

=/\= Stout to Omni. Meet me at umbilical port 4. You and I are gonna take a tour of the Dawkens. =/\=

Stout, CO

=^=Aye, sir. On my way.=^=

A little spider drone walk up to the CO ” Hello i am Chi 6 i can access ships subsystems and compile a list of upgrades and things you want checked for the engineering staff” it jump and landed on the CO’s shoulder. The chi drone was surprisingly lightweight.

Chi 6 (ED) {engineering drone}

Stout looked down at the drone and scowled. “Off. Now.” he growled.

Stout, CO

Omni caught up to the Captain, by this time, raising a brow towards the drone that had climbed onto Stout. Those entities require better surveillance. She thought, shaking hwr head. “Captain, should not the Chi Drones be with the Lieutenant?”

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

Stout looked at the drone then at the XO. “Probably. But it darn sure well should not be on my shoulder.”

Stout, CO

Omni shook her head, “There are regulations against the free mobility of mechanical entities, without the supervision of their creator unless given sentience, such as an Android or AI; which this creature clearly doesn’t possess.” It was as if she were backing up his displeasure with fact.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

OOC: Taping in the reply from the CE.
IC:

The little drone jump onto the wall ” but Chi 6 is here to help master Mike askes me to help compile a list of repairs and upgrades for the walkthrough of the ship”

Chi 6 (ED)

“Seems Woods wasn’t the only one who had a desire for a little something ‘extra’ on the station.” he said and flicked the drone off his shoulder, not caring where it landed… as long as it wasn’t on him. “Ok, Commander. Let’s do this. If Lt. Knight wants to send a ‘bot to do a job, the ‘bot can play catch up.” and he walked into the umbilical.

Omni quirked a pale, almost colourless brow. “Very well, then.” She nodded, following the man into the umbilical to see exactly what they were looking into.

The interior was well lit and as wide as it was tall. Two paths, one on each side, allowed for foot traffic to and from the attached cradle gantry. In the center was a dual railed tram: on for cargo, one for personnel. Stout sat on a seat in the latter and began activating the system to take them to the Dawkens.

Stout, CO

Stepping after him, the officer situated herself beside the Captain, falling into a still silence. The Dawkens was a ship she had heard of, but never studied much upon. She assumed that would be what her night consisted of, refreshing and earning about what this ship was so she could potentially contribute to the reconstruction or alternate modeling of it.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

Stout finished activating the tram and looked at the drone. “You go tell ‘Master Mike’ if he is so interested in this, he should have been here in person. Besides, I’m pretty certain the Commander here can write a list without your help. You don’t even have a pen, Tiny. See ya.” and he accelerated the tram away from the entrance to the umbilical and towards the waiting vessel.

“I do believe ‘Master Mike’ will be hearing of this encounter, and he may not be the most pleased due to it, sir.” Her voice was monotonous and informative. However, if Stout were to pay more attention to her gaze, he might see the amusement she was desperately trying to hide behind her eyes.

The tram traveled smoothly but quickly. As they sped through the several kilometers of tubing, Stout looked at the XO. “So Commander. You ready to see what will be keeping up at night for the next hundred and seventy-nine days?” he asked with a slight smile.

Stout, CO

“That depends on what you classify as ‘ready,’ sir.” Omni glanced back at the Captain, hardly returning his smile, but her words were sufficient enough to nearly reciprocate it. “At least we shall be busy, hmm? Even if, staying up so many consistent hours, will be quite taxing on the mind.”

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

Stout sped the tram up a bit and said “I have every confidence you will get it done, and done well, Commander. Any concerns before we arrive?”

Stout, CO

“No, sir.” Omni shook her head, appreciating his confidence, but it wasn’t as if she was going to portray that, visibly.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

The tram slowed and stopped as they reached the cradle housing the Dawkens. Stout stood and made his way to the door and tapped the panel. The door slid open and a hiss of stale escaped the other side. Lights flickered, flickered again, and the cast their light steadily as they powered up for the first time in who knows how long. A small docking port connected the umbilical to the cradle itself, and then several others went from the cradle to various docking ports on the ship it held inside it. Making their way through the cradle, they made their way to the main hatch of the Dawkens. The docking port opened and Stout said “After you, Commander.” he said.

Stout, CO

Omni nodded, taking a step from the current location and onto the Dawkens. She allowed her gaze to study the interior of the port, turning, she waited for the Captain to step after her.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

Stout stepped inside and said “Ok, Commander. What do you want to see first?”

Stout, CO

“It would be wisest to start here, and work our way up. After all, it would be a waste of energy to hop from one place to the next, sir.” Omni responded.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

“Excuse me, Captain. Commander,” the former Borg gave more of a slight nod to Omni than he did Stout. “I don’t mean to interrupt, but I am. I need an authorization to bring an engineering team in to work on the secondary and tertiary EPS relays leading to the warp core. And you are fixing to ask. Yes I was here trying to get it ready as a surprise. As well as, working in the dark. However, I have excellent visual acuity.” Dean held the PADD out, “She…needs a good amount of work, sirs.” Reaching up with his free hand to scratch the eyebrow implant that was still there.

Lieutenant Grimes, COps

The opposing creature gave only a nod of acknowledgment to the Operations Officer, turning her attention to the Captain, in assumption that he would offer some sort of reply.

Stout looked at Grimes with a scowl, but only said “The Commander is in charge of the Dawkens project. All approvals go through her.” and then he motioned Grimes over and said quietly, although he was sure the Commander could probably hear him anyway, “Lieutenant, I need you running Operations on the station. I don’t need my Operations Chief running through an empty and powered down ship in the dark… alone… without telling anyone. And I really don’t need you setting the refit priorities for this project. Thats up to the Commander. I do expect you to assist her any and every way you can, though… but wait for her to ask, will you? Short timeline for this refit, and she runs it.” and he stepped back and said in a regular volume. “I’m glad you are here Chief. There are some issues I need your attention directed to asap. I have a civilian throwing a party in a docking bay for a group of civilian workers I had no idea was coming aboard. Mr. Ferl’lak decided on his own that hosting a party with food and drinks in the shuttle bay would be a good idea. As that area is your purview, I’ll let you address that as you see fit. But they are on board now, and it’s not like we can’t use the help. That means living space assignments, scheduling of duty rotations… the works. And Medical has a decontamination station set up for dealing with the hot ship. What is it’s status and have you inspected that as well? And what is the status of the incoming Warp Core for the station’s power supply?”

Stout, CO

Omni watched the two of them, half listening, however, the larger portion of her attention was focused on what this ship would need in order to be up and running again. As soon as the walkthrough was done, she wanted to get several scans run, assessing the state of the core, and various other systems, including the main powerframes. It seemed it would be best to understand exactly what they were dealing with, before they made the choice on what should be done. In this light, she assumed the Operations chief and her would be having quite the discussion, at a later date, regarding this very topic. Thinking to herself, she eventually refocused her attention on the pair, listening to the interactions.

Lt. Cmdr. Omni
XO

Sherlock gave a nod a little bit about not telling anyone he was working on the ship. “I’m sorry, sir. As I said I wanted it to be a surprise. As far as the core, its dragging a little bit. I have not inspected the decontamination center set up.” Giving a blink a moment, “Wait…you want me to over see this party?”

Lieutenant Grimes, COps
