OOC: This was spoken of prior in a Sim, Mike, however you are more than welcome to join into this, as this does concern your character, as well.

IC: It had only taken about an hour for the Forensic Scientist to retrieve the proper equipment and files they required in order to assist the Prison in figuring out what had happened to the escapee prisoner. Making their way down to the Prison, the androgynous Officer tapped their hand against the chime of the Major’s Office, expecting that he had been told of their impending arrival, after whatever conversation had been held prior to this. Silently, they clasped their hands behind their back, studying their surroundings with sharp, oddly calculating eyes. It was their job, to study, to note everything around them. After all, they worked in behavioral analysis and forensic trace evidence. Silently, they waited for the Guard to respond, should he be in the office.

Forensics

The door slip open and the figure of the Head Guard filled the doorway. The helmet tilted down slightly to look directly at Jebidiah and the synthesized voice said “You were expected earlier. This way.” and he lead them to a hatch at the end of a passageway. Opening the door, four guards in black tactical gear with two on either side were in the next room. Vonn turned to the Scientist and said “These are your escorts. They will be with you at all times. Any deviation from their sight will be met by a tactical response. You are allowed access to the prisoner’s cell and to the surveillance footage of the area only. Any further access needed will have to be approved by me. Do you understand the conditions of your access to the prison?”

Vonn, HG

“Quite well, Major.” The Lieutenant responded, with ease. They had been working with Prisons and other criminal-holding environments for quite some time, thus they knew the basics of what to expect from the Guards or Governors, when it came to being able to access their holding chambers. Of course, each was different, in slight ways, so they had to pay enough attention to be able to not this. The criminal investigator rose a brow, “Major, how many prisoners are currently being held by the Swift. Two, yes?” They asked, to be certain. Their voice was low, containing a tone nearly comparable to Sherlock Holmes. This was not the nicest of people, but they got the job done.

Lt. Jebidiah
Forensics

“I fail to see how the current population is of any concern to your investigation. I can tell you we have 27 guards on staff. Their bio metrics and DNA have been made available for comparison purposes.”

Vonn, Head Guard

“Thank you, Major.” They responded, flatly. “Do you have a Guard you wish to accompany, for the purpose of assurance to my methods and activities.” They knew that most people preferred to have a representive or a supervisor, over their actions.

Lt. Jebidiah

Gunther walked and gave a nod to the guards about a second after he just asked the question. It was a few hours after meeting with the Major who was already present with the forensics lieutenant. “That’ll be fine, myself and the Major here can accompany you as well. I’m curious as to what you’ll find. I’m Colonel Gunther, the Warden here.” He extended his hand to the lieutenant in greeting.

“Lieutenant Jebidiah,” They shook his hand, inclining their head at enough of an angle to Ben described as respectful or acknowledging. “I am the Forensic and Behavioural Analysis Officer. Judging by what I have been told, we may not have immediate results, which I do hope you are not suspecting.”

“As long as we can figure out some sort of lead, that would be sufficient. I’m sure you can agree that this is one substantial facility Lieutenant. People usually don’t just hop in and out depending on their fancy, even with assistance.”

“No, they don’t. I would assume we are looking at someone who understands how the prison works, as well as has the capability to get passed the security parameters that come with attempting to hack surveillance systems.”

He looked at two of the four guards in tactical gear. “You two can post up at the entrance to the cell block.” The Colonel himself was wearing what seemed to be a customized combat belt which carried a special retention holster for a Type II Phaser, a stun baton, physical restraints and a few other small pouches which could be seen.

Col. Gunther
Warden

Jebidiah rose a brow at the equipment they possessed, not because they disagreed, but because they were impressed by the seriousness that the Colonel seemed to be placing into this. “I would like to begin shortly, Colonel, if that is alright with you and the Major.”

Lt. Jebidiah
Forensics
OOC: Rushed, Sorry- on a trip. :)

OOC: No worries! Hopefully it’s an enjoyable one!

“Not a problem, I reviewed the visit request and it was for access to the prisoner’s cell and to review the footage for her cell. We’ll go ahead and begin with the former. The guards will lead the way.” The guards hand turned and began walking towards the cell block side by side, weapons in hand, prepared for anything. He extended his hand out towards the guards. “Please, after you Lieutenant, we’ll be right behind you.”

The Lieutenant only nodded, hardly in the stance to be giving verbal response. They followed after the guards, towards the Prisoner’s cell.

Just as the Lieutenant was out of his ear shot, he whispered quietly to the Major Vonn, “Keep your eye on him.. I know he’s Starfleet, but he’s not part of our ship. Better safe than sorry, right?” He then began trailing behind the Lieutenant, keeping him in the middle between the guards and him.

Col. Gunther
Warden

Vonn wordlessly handed the Warden a PaDD. On it was the Lieutenant’s personnel record, next-of-kin, home address and system, and last four duty assignments. He then fell in behind Lt. Jebidiah and the synthesized voice said “I will reiterate, Lieutenant. You will touch nothing and go nowhere that you are not authorized for. Failure to comply will be met with an appropriate level of response.”

Vonn, Head Guard

“And let me remark: I am not here to impede your investigation, Major. I am here to assist you in your efforts of uncovering plausible courses of action that could have been taken to remove Miss Statin from your control. So, you can stop acting as if I am some kind of threat to your operations,” Jebidiah showed hints of annoyance. They weren’t here to be treated like some kind of criminal, they were here to get the job done, and hell be damned, they would. “There is no way that I can get information without touching something. I cannot just look at something from this manner, and say ‘Oh, yes; your culprit is a six foot five, two hundred ten pound Orion male. You of all people, Major, should know it doesn’t work that way.”

Vonn didn’t move or give any indication of an emotional reaction. The synthesized voice simply stated “I will repeat, Lieutenant. You will touch nothing and go nowhere that you are not authorized for. You have been granted clearance to do your duty with regards to areas and systems related to this investigation. I am simply reminding you of that fact for your own safety. I’m sure you aware that is how it must be done. However, I will not do so again.”

Turning from him, they walked into the cell, once the field had been dropped to allow them to do so. Rolling their shoulders, they studied the room, their sharp case noting the current state of it. “Do you mind if I get a few DNA samples, to see who we are dealing with.” They assumed the intruder would have been smart enough to use gloves, of some sort, but it was too risky not to attempt. Silently, they moved about the cell, kneeling down by the bed, observing the floor, for any signs of blood or any other streak marks, that could give indication of how harsh the removal was.

Lt. Jebidiah
Forensics

“Of course. And you have been given DNA readouts of staff and the prisoner to allow you to eliminate those.” Vonn replied.

Vonn, Head Guard

OOC: I think that the Counselor would be an excellent addition. And you can get the background IC from Vonn if you would like.

OOC: Agreed! Vonn is a choice, so is the original post about her escape: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/xfleet/swift/notes/2023/

Both would be great ways to figure out what is going on. :)

Trinity

IC: “Exactly. We can also eliminate Statin’s own DNA, leaving us with whatever remains.” The creature nodded, pulling out a device to retrieve the DNA they could from areas such as: the floor, threshold, and walls. “Do you have a list of Guards who have been assigned under yours and the Warden’s command, within the last thirty days?” Jebidiah asked, wishing to test one of their theories.

Lt. Jebidiah

Vonn tapped a few commands into the computer built into the bracer on his wrist. “Sent to you now.”

Vonn, Head Guard

“Received,” Jebidiah remarked, upon glancing over at their PaDD. Within the following thirty seconds, they had sent the obtained fingerprints to the lab, for further testing and determination as to whether or not there were any DNA results that showcased anyone beyond the Guards, noted personnel and Statin, herself. “How many cameras and surveillance machines do you have set up, as to observe the prisoners?”

Lt. Jebidiah
Forensics

“Four per cell, two covering the entrance to the cell, and one every twenty feet in the hallways. At any time, anyone in the prison is on at least two cameras, more so the majority of the time. All hallways have mirrors in the corners so we can see around them, and the recordings are kept back for a period of one year.”

Vonn, Head Guard

“With that kind of scrutiny, I can’t imagine how she could escape without using some sort of tactic that would look routine to the surveillance devices,” Doctor Vail Stevens offered, coming down the corridor with her own guard in tow.

To Vonn, she said, “I’m sorry I’m late. A session ran over.” Noticing Jebediah, she offered her hand, “Hello. I’m Doctor Vail Stevens, Counselor and Forensic Psychologist for the USS Swift.”
