With the threat of the orions and naucssian pirates exposed and their trickery to insight more war between the newly formed Federation and romulan Star Empire the Unity came about and leapt to warp 4 returning to the Sol system a few days later heralded with a successful mission to the Freedom colony. While they were not joining the Federation for the time being they would open trade with them for more relief supplies.
