GMT Recommendations

Cordell Garrett, GM - 10 January 2010

Time Served with GMT: 1-3 months
Comments: Nicholas has impressed me with his character on the Endeavor. I think he would make an outstanding GMT.

Positive Attribute: He pays great attention to detail and I believe that detail would serve any CO well.

Negative Attributes: None that I can see

Kevin Harbison, CO - 10 January 2010

I'd like to recommend Nicholas Villarreal for the GMT program. I have simmed with Nick for quite a while now and he is an excellent rper and very good at introducing little sims to keep the ship moving. He has been instrumental on the Viking in keeping my sim going and solving the puzzles I set them.

Krys Bromilow, GM - 11 January 2010

Time Served with GMT: More than a year

I have simmed with Nick for quite a while now and he is an excellent rper and very good at introducing little sims to keep the ship moving. Positive Attribute: Nick is an a great rper with detailed posts and is very good at working out puzzles.

Negative Attributes: The only partially negative attribute is that, like all of us, he is a busy boy and does take many LOA's but they are usually of short duration.

Kenson Koh, GM - 13 April 2010

Nicholas has a good grasp of the Role playing environment. He has a good imagination and his posts are normally concise and to the point. I had served with him on other ships and is with him also on the Samurai where he is XO for the last two months. Note: Although the ship above is named Merlin, it had been changed to the Odin quite some time ago.

Positive Attribute: He is able to respond positively to the different scenarios. As a GM he would be able to keep a sim together as well as "go with the flow".

Negative Attributes: Whilst his posts are clear, he needs to improve in providing details.

GMT Reviews

Jason Lee, GMM - 30 January 2011

Overall Recommendation: Pass
Positive Attribute: Nick seems to be able to grasp the basics necessary for Gamemastering, and he has taken my advice to certain situations well. His initial outline for his sim was excellent, and his execution of his sim was close enough. Nick did take a good direction from me when I indicated when the crew doesn't pay attention, do something evil... like kill or blow something up. In this sense, he kept the entertainment going and shook things up, quite literally.
Negative Attributes: He disappeared from time to time, leaving his ship without a GM

He should approach and ask more questions when he gets stuck

There were parts of his sim that seemed slow, but whether that was the crew's fault or not is uncertain

My pass is a conditional pass. Nick seems to be ready for a GM position, but he could use a monitor for a little while to iron out a few small problems with his GM style.

Brandon Irvine, CO - 26 March 2011

Overall Recommendation: Pass
Positive Attribute: Nick's sim was very engaging of all departments, as the events in his sim gave members of each department activities to perform.

The sim was also quite original, and well-grounded in science theory. His new species was pretty well developed in terms of characterization and interacted well with the PCs.

His GMM did not have to intervene often, which I take as a very positive mark that speaks well of Nick's abilities.
Negative Attributes: He did go missing a couple of times, but that was mostly thanks to RL.

The sim also stalled a further few times, but that was more due to the previous captain's time spent away from the ship when her presence was needed to move the sim along than it was Nick's fault.
