Kirt has been known to me for some years, I’ve seen him at his arguable worst (as he might put it! not me!) and seen him grow to his best. He started out as a pilot JO and grew in time to an engineering JO, then chief engineer, and xo on the ark angel. In that long series of years his writing has risen leaps and bounds from what it once was. While he has some errors sometimes still in punctuation or the like, the meaning and clarity is there to overlook such things. His storytelling has also grown from simple replies to full on side sims covering many people when needed. He is an engaging writer and after having seen his GMT/Exam outlines I feel confident with a solid GMM to help guide him a little he will do great as his GM Weasel self that I know he can be.

Kirt possesses a trait that I think all GMs need - the ability to react quickly and creatively. I have watched him spin the vaguest of things into a post, even into whole threads, and make them fun and enjoyable not just for himself but for others as well. His use of NEs is among my favorite, and are always entertaining, whether in a main sim or a side sim. He is quick to create a side sim when his character is not involved in the main sim, and these threads are always interesting to read. He will often try to find any sliver of a way into the main sim as well, without grandstanding.

He has an occasional typo or incorrect grammatical construct that can jar at times, but I attribute this to excitement and eagerness to get his ideas onto the screen. I believe he has qualities that, with help, guidance, and training, could make him a good addition to our GM team.

Result: High Pass

  1. What are the key strengths of the GMT and what were their most significant improvements?

Kirt is extremely detailed in his world building and I am still fascinated at the details he put into the primitive inhabitants of planet.

  1. What (if any) were the weaknesses of the GMT, and what do they still need to work on?

I can’t think of anything specific for weaknesses, Kirt has been a pleasure to work with.

3.Please add any additional information you feel the GMD needs to know about this GMT.

Kirt really was a trooper, doing this training simm right in the midst of some crew changes and the Christmas slump!

  1. What are the key strengths of the GMT and what were their most significant improvements?

Kirt has been open from the start of adjusting his sim information and details with constructive feedback. This has kept the sim interesting I feel and retaining the original intent of his sim, while not creating too many false hooks that could prolong the sim unduly or confuse people. He also is open to seeking me and others out for advice and feedback when he is uncertain how to handle something and has also taken initiative to make adjustments to his GMT sim when the players on the ship did not reply to one of his needed details of the sim. Overall Kirt seems reliable and thoughtful, and open to new and fresh ideas as a GMT.

  1. What (if any) were the weaknesses of the GMT, and what do they still need to work on?

Biggest thing Kirt needs to work on is his confidence. It is of course normal for any GMT to be nervous or uncertain of their sim and how it will play out naturally. And I feel in time though with success Kirt will only continue to grow into the GMing role, and when he does have questions will not hesitate to reach out to people he trusts for help or advice.

Nothing springs to my mind.
