The Dresden was undergoing routine business when it was attacked by a mysterious ship that showed up on scanners as being the USS Faerie. An away team was beamed aboard, only to have their combadges stolen and two members taken to a separate part of the ship. These two were interrogated about the whereabouts of the brother of Shane Warwick (one of the officers being questioned). Meanwhile, the away team broke free and attempted to retake the Faerie.
On the Dresden, the crew tried anxiously to catch up with the Faerie and bring her crew home. However, the power being outputted to the warp field was insufficient to close the gap, a mysterious thing. Abruptly, the Faerie turned and fired weapons, knocking out a lot of the ship all at the same time. The two that had been held separate were beamed aboard the bridge, having divulged information that sounded truthful, even if it was not necessarily true. The missing away team found themselves in the holodeck of the ship, since the warp core had been knocked offline. The Faerie uttered a cryptic threat and took off, leaving the Dresden without engines, weapons, or communications outside of the ship.
