Mission Summary

The Europa came across a distress signal. Upon arriving at their location there is a cargo ship, the SS Arkham floating in space, totally dead in the water and not too far away from a spatial anomaly. Scanners were able to make out the ship specs, the lack of power and life support in some parts and even some possible life forms but it not any specific readings.

The anomaly affected their ability to use transporters and tractor beams, which upon closer inspection they found the Arkham actually partially stuck inside the anomaly. There was also a strange and unidentified particle present in the area and science undertook its investigation.

An away team was formed and sent over in a shuttle. Upon arrival, they located three life signs on the derelict ship and went off to investigate.

It was around this time that odd things began occurring on
both the Europa and the Arkham. People began hearing voices or strange noises, or seeing things that weren\'t there. Malfunctions began to plague the ship including causing the bridge turbolift to fill with water and freeze with someone inside! None of the malfunctions seemed to last for long though.

Another ship, the USS Courage arrived on the scene to offer help. They were originally meant only to rendezvous to do crew transfers. Captain Dvorak felt confident they could manage, but still allowed the new crew to come over and lend their expertise.

On the Arkham, the away team split up, with one group eventually making it to the Bridge. They were able to get access to a terminal and download encrypted logs to take back to the Europa to decipher and hopefully shed some light on the mystery.

Meanwhile, while dealing with more strange noises, the other half of the team came across two of the life forms, two children, just as the third life sign disappeared.

Back on the Europa, the investigation into the malfunctions and the particle led to the discovery that the particle had biological components. After some in depth analysis, they determined that it was connected to the anomaly and likely made up components of a living organism, possible a non corporeal being, though they had little evidence of sentience. The ship retreated from the anomaly and the strange occurrences ceased.

The away team eventually returned with the children and the encrypted files. As more strange events began to continue, the crew decrypted the files and found out that they were CO\'s Logs. The captain explained that the \'boy\' was insane and people were dying. They had gone through the same sort of malfunctions and strange events the Europa had and the captain had seemed convinced it was because of the boy they rescued from the anomaly.

Tying all the pieces together, they realized that the \"children\" they just rescued also were made of the particles and likely a part of the living creature which was from the subspace portion of the anomaly. Uncertain what else to do and not wanting others to get stuck into the same tap, they fired a modified torpedo at the anomaly and pushed it back into subspace. The \"children disappeared and the strange events stopped altogether. With the crisis over, the Europa set course for Black Rock and the USS Courage went on its way having successfully delivered the Europa\'s new XO.
