"It appears we have lost our sex appeal, Captain."

With Lloyd on iLOA, a vacancy opened up for a MAC. Given the work we?re doing right now to increase new membership, it?s been vital that we fill it quickly. Lucky for me, an enthusiastic person came to mind right away to fill this very important role. Please all welcome Joshua Ezell to the role of Marketing & Advertising Coordinator.

?Try to hail them.?
?No response.?
?Maybe they wanna be left alone. A single ship on a dark planet? Maybe they're on their honeymoon.?

Due to the resignation of the CO of Oed V, a new Governor is needed for one of our most unique RP environments.

We are fortunate to have someone very passionate about Oed?s future to take over the reigns. With the recommendation of both FComm and AFComm, Fleet 6, I hereby appoint Kendra Kerr as Governor.

Good luck Kendra!

Edict #16

"You treat her like a lady... and she'll always bring you home."

Sadly, Rob Archer has had to step down as CO of the Ogawa. He?s been a wonderful, steady addition to the crew and he will be missed.

However, the vacancy did not last long. A replacement has been found and the person is no stranger to playing medical, so being CO of STFs medical ship seemed like a perfect fit. I hereby appoint Joshua Ezell as Commanding Officer of the USS Ogawa, Fleet 1.

Congrats Josh and good luck!

Edict #17

"Look kid, I don't know what's going to happen to you out there. All I can tell you is that you've got to play the cards life deals you. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but at least you're in the game."

An Academy ship takes a lot of time, energy and enthusiasm to run, and the Discovery has been in need of a new CO. On the recommendation of the Academy Commandant, I hereby appoint Elliot Cooper as Commanding Officer of the USS Discovery.

Congratulations Elliot! I know the cadets are in great hands and that you?ll do a wonderful job.

Edict #18

"How complicated can it be? Up, down, forward, reverse... I'll figure it out."

An Alt-RPG takes a lot of work and dedication to keep not only active, but also a unique and fun place to RP in. The SS Bonaventure is a ship that?s had it?s ups and downs, but is one of our best Alts as evidenced by the number of times it?s been nominated and/or won at the Emmas.

When Lloyd stepped down, the search for a new CO began and I am thrilled to be promoting from within the crew. I hereby promote Joe Lighter to the rank of Captain and appoint him as Commanding Officer of the Bonaventure.

Congratulations Joe!

Edict #19:

"Think about Earth -- what if one of the old nation-states, say Australia, had decided not to join the World Government in twenty-one fifty? Would that have disqualified us from being a Federation member?"

On the recommendation of Fleet Commander-2, Matt Bernadin is promoted to the rank of Captain and is assigned as Commanding Officer of the USS Polaris.

Congrats Matt!

"I'm gonna miss you...you had such potential. But then again, all good things must come to an end..."

After much consultation and deliberation, a decision has been made in regards to the fate of one ship, and the USS Valkyrie is hereby decommissioned.

A big thank you to the crew for being understanding and making this process as smooth as possible. Crew relocations are under way, and the Internet department is instructed to complete this in two weeks from today.

Edict #21

"A photon torpedo. Isn't that the universal greeting when communications are down?"
"I think it's the universal greeting when you don't like someone."

After much, much, much (have I said just how much yet?) debate over the fate of the USS Ark Angel in Fleet 1, it has been decided to give it one more chance to prove itself. This means it needs a new CO.

I hereby appoint Robert Archer as Commanding Officer of the Ark Angel.

As discussed with Rob, our keeping the Ark Angel comes with a condition which he has agreed to. In order to ensure that the ship is viable on a long term basis, we are giving the ship 90 days to prove itself. During this time is must remain a healthy and active roleplaying area. If after 90 days, the ship does not satisfactorily meet the condition, it will be decommissioned.

A review by the current President and Fleet Commander is requested to take place after August 3rd.

Congrats Rob! I am hopeful that under your enthusiastic guidance the Ark Angel can flourish.

"Diplomacy is a very exacting occupation."

The Resolution has been without an active CO for awhile now and I am happy to welcome back someone to the ship?s center seat. Who better to command the Rez than the person who dreamed it up and worked to see it a reality?

Based on the recommendation of Fleet Commander-3, I hereby appoint Harley Cartee as Commanding Officer of the USS Resolution.

"What are his rights in this century? Is there a trial... or shall I execute him?"

Looks like I need to pull out the wood putty and fill some holes in my cabinet...

Yeah, sorry. Enough of that.

I hereby appoint Sidney Parker as Fleet Commander-1. Sidney, please name your Assistant FComm as soon as possible.

Welcome back to the FComm-1 office, and good luck!

Based on the recommendation of the Fleet Commander-3, I hereby appoint RJ Empson as Commanding Officer of the USS Saracen. He does not need promoting as he is already a Captain.

Congrats RJ and welcome back to the centre seat!

"...I'm willing to bet that you've brought one of those famed Starfleet engineers who can turn rocks into replicators."

Things have obviously gotten a little stalled in the Engineering Department, but no fear, a new Engineering Director has been found. I hereby appoint Brandon Irvine as EDir. As the AEDir had to also step down, Brandon, please name a new Assistant EDir as soon as possible.

Good luck!

?My my, aren?t you contentious for a minor bipedal species...?

In light of Elliot?s resignation, the Disco needs a new CO to keep the ship on track. Upon the recommendation of the Vice Academy Commandant, I hereby appoint Jen Herr as Commanding Officer of the USS Discovery.

Edict #31

"Perhaps one day, my people will travel above the skies..."
"Of that, I have absolutely no doubt."

Over the term I?ve been watching closely to those who have stepped up, and also to those who have been working away quietly, looking to see who was deserving of extra recognition (and who qualified).

One of those quiet hard workers is someone who has been a steady CO since 2009, and served as Assistant Fleet Commander of Fleet 3. He is without a doubt one of the nicest people I?ve ever met. He is always willing to listen, has a great deal of common sense and has served as a sounding board for me on a number of occasions. Service to the club doesn?t always mean it?s prominent and I think this is long overdue.

I hereby promote Anthony Findora to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

Congrats Tony!

Edict #32

"I will always be puzzled by the human predilection for piloting vehicles at unsafe velocities."

This is one of those situations where the person was recognized as deserving of being promoted, but due to technical reasons, it wasn?t upheld. I want to correct that. Also, having had the chance to work a bit closer with this person, I can see why the promotion was given in the first place.

I hereby promote Sidney Parker to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

It?s been a long time coming, and well deserved.

Edict #33

"All ready for Attack of the Lobster People?"
"I am not familiar with that species."

When I went and double checked, and discovered this person was only a Captain and that that first promotion occurred in 2004, I was shocked! Since then he?s been an AFComm and temporarily a CO on the Victorious before it was merged with the Aztec. He has also been a GM for ages, ranked as a Senior Gamemaster, and is a Senior Designer in the Engineering Department. I was quite thrilled that he applied to be the most recent Engineering Director and see him take on a new role in the club.

For all his hard work over the many years he?s been in the club, I hereby promote Brandon Irvine to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

If you ask nicely dear Cakemeister, I?ll even give you a break and bake you a cake so you don?t have to make your own.

Edict #34

??The anomaly...my ship...my crew...' I suppose you're worried about your fish, too."

This person is one of those people I too was shocked to find was only a Captain. They?ve been a CO of many different ships in the club and served in Fleet Command several times. Going about things with a great sense of humour, they?re also not afraid to crack the whip when needed.

For years of service to the club, I hereby promote Robert Spicer to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

Congrats to the Catfish!

Edict #35

"Whoever said getting there was half the fun never traveled in a class 8 probe."

You know, there are few people who can rival myself for sheer enthusiasm, and this person not only has that, but they throw themselves into their responsibilities wholeheartedly. Not afraid to be blunt and take criticism, they are genuinely nice and always willing to hear you out.

A member for many years and first promoted to Captain back in 2005, I have had the pleasure of writing with them for awhile and watching them be a driving force in Fleet 6.

I hereby promote Julia K?nig to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

Congrats to Kangi!

Edict #36

"Without freedom of choice, there is no creativity. Without creativity, there is no life."

Often evil, always intriguing, this person is a GMing machine. Spitting out some of the most creative and well thought out sims I.ve had the pleasure of participating in, this person has served the club in various capacities, though they admittedly prefer being a Gamemaster. It shows in the quality of the sims produced, and it is no wonder they've won GMing awards at the Emmas.

It's my pleasure to hereby promote Robert Archer to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

Edict #37

"What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived."

Where to start on this one? I've known them since they first joined the club and have watched them evolve into one of the club's best assets. They have a wonderful ability to evaluate situations and come up with multiple options, and are always willing to listen to ideas. I don't think I could have made it through the term without such a great person and RPer at my side. Joe has done so much for the club behind the scenes, not only in the Academy and the Internet department, but also as Vice President. Many, many hours and many conversations took place over the last eight months resulting in a great partnership in this administration. It is hard to explain just how much this is deserved, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

I hereby promote Joe P to the rank of Fleet Captain, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

Edict #38

"She may have flaws, but she has teeth."

Being in a leadership role is just plain hard work, and this person not only understands that, they are willing to roll up their sleeves and tackle it head on. It?s that kind of attitude that has made their fleet one of the strongest in the club, and they have been an example of the type of person we really need in leadership roles in the club.

For years of dedication, both IC and OCC, I hereby promote Kendra Kerr to the rank of Commodore, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

Congrats Kendra!

Edict #39

"Yes, but where is this place?"
"Where none have gone before."

Two words come to mind when I think of this person: humble and patient. It takes a lot to be a Gamemaster, let alone achieve the status of an Advanced Gamemaster. Not only is this person a wonderful GM, but they have been an XO, CO in both the Main Fleet and the Academy, Assistant Election Coordinator, Fleet Commander-1 & 5. First promoted to Captain in 2007, then made Fleet Captain in 2009. I joined the club in 2010, and he was one of the Gamemasters I quickly learned to watch. He?s a great poster, wonderful GM and a truly great Mentor. I believe this is truly deserved.

I hereby promote Gene Gibbs to the rank of Commodore, with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges therein.

Well done Gene!

Edict #40

"Did we do it? Did we... make a difference?
"Oh, yes. We made a difference. Thank you."

It takes a team to run this club and I?ve had the good fortune of having some wonderful people support me along the way. Starting the term, I knew what I wanted to accomplish, and Joe and I knew how we wanted to start, but often execution took twists and that was part of the learning curve that many people helped see us through. Time for some thank yous...

Jen Herr:

With two terms as Prez in her back pocket, Jen was there for me right from the beginning, with advice and anecdotes galore. She was one of the people who encouraged me to run and I have appreciated her confidence in me all the way through.

Jen, I?ve loved all our conversations. Thank you for all your help and hard work.

Kat Dedul:

Kat was my first CO when I joined the club and I have learned so much from her since then.

Thank you Kat for your continued contributions to the club. You are a wonderful example of a CO and Fleet Commander and your ability to teach and coach is a wonderful asset. You?ve been a great sounding board on, and I know I can also trust you to tell it like it is.

Steven Sigle:

On the days when I need a laugh or an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on, he?s been there, not just for me, but many others as well.

Dearest Tadpole, I can?t ask for a better friend and you?ve helped remind me that I can?t do it all, and that?s okay. I?m admittedly not good at that, so I was glad to have you help keep me real. Thanks.

Joe P:

Lastly, I know I said a bit in the promotion Edict, but I have some more to say here. Thank you Joe for being not just my right hand man, but also a great friend. You made me laugh and gave pep talks when I needed it and gave me perspective when it was called for. It?s strange being so easily on the same wavelength as another person you?ve never met in person, but that ability to get what the other person is trying to say, even if they couldn?t always spit it out, was one of the reasons we made such a great team. I know no better person to continue all the hard work we started and I look forward to seeing what your team can accomplish this next term.

Also thanks to all members of the club who are enthusiastic writers and make STF what it is.
