The Foremost Fleet Report - May 2020

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Ship is in solid shape overall beyond a few loas at the moment. Sim wise the Ark Angel is once more near the border of Federation space also near to the chaotic Romulan Empire’s borders at a station of a recently joined species to the Federation. They’re reporting minor and chaotic losses of power due to unknown reasons and it has as a result scared the local populace and station crew.

Spotlight: Ben Simons - My XO in training this month gets my big thank you and spotlight for his help. He was in excellent form to help me with the admin and ship management this past month and week when things grew hectic for me.

Sharon Miller and Jay Luistro - My one Engineering JO Eve, and CNS respectively also get a big spotlight for their creative roleplaying and keeping the JO crew active in side sims during my small posting slump.

Vacancies: 1x Science JO
2x Medical JOs

Executive Officer: Ben Simons

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: Unfortunately I missed a week and a half in May due to some technical issues that happened, but overall the Ark Angel has been doing very well. We’re getting into the meat of the next sim now, and most of the ship has been pretty active, another good month in that regard.

Spotlight: We’ve had a couple of new officers joining from the Academy, and I’d like to highlight Ensign Kala Gorvel and her interactions with the crew so far have been really fun to see. I also want to say that this has probably been the most difficult month as everyone has done such a good job this month.

Vacancies: With our recent influx, we’ve now got 2 JOs in Security and Engineering. We’re still looking for at least one Science JO and two Junior Doctors, we don’t have any medical JOs at this time.

FComm’s Comments: Overall a good month for the AA. Some new players and some great side sims along with the main sim this month, the ship is looking good and working hard on meeting their target of filling their vacancies.

As of the writing of this report the AA’s MOTD, ship profile and vacancies list is up to date.

Moving forward to next month the target for the AA is to continue to fill its outstanding vacancies and continue the forward momentum they have going.

Good work this month folks.

Executive Officer: Calé Reilly

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The ship has slowed with myself and Jason being LOA however we are still ticking along and Jason is working on getting the sim more involved later

Spotlight:

Vacancies: JOs especially medical!

Gamemaster: Jason Lee

Crew Posting Level: 9
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Sim Overview: The Asimov is crashed on an unknown planet.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: Overall a bit of a mixed month for the Asimov. They have had a few LOAs and real life has swallowed one or two of the players however for the most part the crew have worked to stay within posting limits and succeeded on doing this. There is some good posting going on with the main sim but little in terms of wider side sim involvement which is something the ship is going to work on to help improve player engagement.

Jason has organised a new GM drop in time for players to collaborate on main sim things to help keep people involved and Tyra has been working to keep on top of AWOLs etc.

As of the writing of this report the Asimov’s MOTD, ship profile and vacancies list is up to date.

Moving forward to next month the target for the Asimov is two fold, to improve their player engagement and to continue to fill its outstanding vacancies.

Thank you for your work this month folks.

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: It be done!! After what seems to have been a couple of years at this sim it is done!
In the ensuing attempt to rescue the inhabits of the Sphere Cities within the Dyson Sphere from falling into the black hole within they were aided by the enigmatic Bane to take on the population of the City. As they did this the Bonnie sought to buy time by welding girders with their phasers onto the strained chain links holding the city in place. Alas, on the other side, the great and ancient gravities repulsors which had earlier begun to fail and now unable to compensate one by one burned out. Just as the Bonnie and the Bane ship were disengaging from the region of the City Sphere the hull encircling it began to break up, pelting the two ships and carrying them toward the black hole until they were able to gain control of their vessels. Bane’s ship took the harder hits and was pierced by several of the shards from the city. To make matters worse the great doors to the Dyson Sphere were closing and both vessels narrowly escaped being trapped within. From there, as a kind of epilogue, they traveled to a nearby system with a habitable planet and dropped off the refugees. Unfortunately Bane, who could take the form of a person or a ship, succumbed to the injuries of the shards and died shortly after touchdown. Successfully having undertaken this rescue that began from a faint distress call, the Bonnie now seeks her next adventure with a new GM.

Thank you all for having me for this time! :)

Spotlight: Our good CO for putting up with me all this time.

FComm’s Comments: Overall a good month for the Bonnie as it’s epic mission comes to an end. A heartfelt thanks must go out to Gene for all of his work as the GM this month and every month previous and I am sure that the Bonnie will be in good hands as it starts it’s new mission with the arrival of its new GM.

The ship also welcomed a new XO into the crew and there have been some great storyline and writing from this new energy coming in. Engagement has improved and the ship is looking good and working hard on meeting their target of filling their vacancies.

As of the writing of this report the Bonnie’s MOTD, ship profile and vacancies list is up to date.

Moving forward to next month the target for the Bonnie is to get their new sim underway and continue to fill its outstanding vacancies.

Good work this month folks. And cookies to Mel for being the first CO report submitted this month!

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The ship is still in orbit around Graven. The Manhattan has taken on an injured native as a small delegation from the planet to oversee his care. Two Manhattan crew are injured as well, and all are being treated in Sickbay. The Diplomatic Attache, XO, and a Security officer are with the governors of the planet maintaining a dialogue while the injured are attended to.

There was some noticeable interference with transporter signals from the planet, and Ops is investigating.

Spotlight: D Grisham is doing an outstanding job as the new Counselor, Zef Rollo. Lindsay Bayes has taken on the role of her character’s own mother in the same thread, and is maintaining that perfectly. And to no one’s surprise, Gene Gibbs is continuing in his stead as an amazing and thought-provoking GM.

Vacancies: All Departments -JO’s

Executive Officer: Steven Sigle

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Diplomacy is the name of the game as the Manhattan tries to prevent an all out war. Crews are scattered and the players are seeing what else could go wrong. Can’t wait to find out more.

Spotlight:

Vacancies: Any and all JO’s

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: This month has been a month of revelation and response. The ‘accident’ that occurred at the end of last month injuring two of the crew and one of the aliens resulted in the three being beamed up to the Manhattan to be looked after. The Captain and others involved in a diplomatic discussion was informed and some returned to the ship with the CMO soon to follow. The science and security groups continue in their individual threads studying the poor crop region and mysterious murders respectively. Prior to the accident the medical team was discussing the same deaths from another angle and learning that these people are two-spirited - literally - that during the day their bodies are up and ‘normal’ while at night their bodies are resting and immobile while their spirits roam. There was beginning the thought that all of these things are linked somehow but the how and why and what and who portions are yet unknown.

Spotlight: The crew. They keep … gasp … posting!!

FComm’s Comments: Overall a strong month for the Manhattan. Some great side sims along with the excitement of the main sim this month, the ship is looking good overall and Is working hard on meeting their target of filling their vacancies.

As of the writing of this report the Manhattan’s MOTD, ship profile and vacancies list is up to date.

Moving forward to next month the target for the Manhattan is to continue to fill its outstanding vacancies and continue the forward momentum they have going.

Good work this month folks.

Executive Officer: Nathan Derricutt

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: We hit a rocky patch caused by multiple outside effects. However the ship is starting to recover. I am hoping to increase the post level on the ship within the next month . The main sim is going slowly at the moment but hopefully that will soon change. I am still looking for new people to join our ship and i am slo looking for way to imporv thw experience for all the crew.

Spotlight: I’d say Kirt he has been very helpful as i have dealt with some serious IRL Problems.

Vacancies: JOs in all departments

Gamemaster: Kevin Sawyer

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: While on patrol in Sector G27, deep into the very edge of Federation and explored space of the Beta quadrant, the USS Memorial has received a request for backup from the nearby Star-Fleet science vessel USS Resolution. Something is causing certain systems to fail on board the ship during an important scientific mission, and suspicious sensor ghosts traveling along the edges of their sensor systems are feared to be a threat - pirate activity has been a concern over the years in this sparsely populated and explored area of space.

At the same time the ship has received a distress signal from the civilian cargo and merchant ship SS Anne. Reaching this ship would be a longer, more perilous journey at high speeds to skim near a black hole. The one other Star-Fleet ship in the sector, the USS Ceidrwin, has been investigating a nebula from within, complicating any attempts at communication.

The Memorial has set a course for the Anne while also preparing to launch its capable runabout, the Flying Angel, to head to the Resolution and offer assistance. Ion storms in the region make both trips difficult, but, a black hole in between the Memorial and the Anne’s last known location make long-range scanning and travel in that direction perilous without a course giving it a wide berth.

Spotlight: Jeff VanZilen as Lt. j.g. JT Robinson!

FComm’s Comments: Overall a great month for the Memorial. A new GM has really kicked off the ship and that energy is obvious to see in the main sims and side sims going on. They have had a few LOAs but for the most part the crew have worked to stay within posting limits and succeeded on doing this.

As of the writing of this report the Memorial MOTD, ship profile and vacancies list is up to date.

Moving forward to next month the target for the Memorial is two fold, to continue to improve their player engagement as their new sim continues and to continue to fill its outstanding vacancies.

Thank you for your work this month folks.

Overall comments: May has seen some real improvements for the Foremost Fleet. And I couldnt be prouder of all the chip crews and command teams. They have worked really hard despite the current real life situation and some trying personal issues.

There has been a general improvement in player engagement on almost all of the ships and a burst of energy with some new blood and characters. I’d like to welcome all the new players, returning players and academy graduates who have come into the fleet this past month and thank them all for their contributions to thing.

Joe and I continue to work with command teams to improve and work on their targets. Again a huge thanks to those command teams who have engaged in this dialogue and worked with us. Communication is such a key element and I am grateful for everyone who makes my Job as Fcomm so much easier by talking to us and also replying to my random emails.

The foremost fleet has continued through the current real world crisis and as I said last month we have a lot of fantastic ships and exciting opportunities coming up so if you are looking for a new ship now is the perfect time to join in (Shameless plug alert). So if you’re looking for a new environment or a new character please give our ships a look, I promise you won’t regret it!
