The Infinite Fleet Report - June 2020

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Katherine Dedul

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: We slowed a little bit in June, nothing super concerning. My main crux is getting some vacant positions filled, but I’m seeing some interest in them, so I hope by the next reporting period, I can report that I only have JO vacancies. That is my goal for July.

Spotlight: I’d like to spotlight my new XO, AJ Paulson. I love the enthusiasm to which he’s taken on the role and he’s eager to dive into the admin functions and really start to learn about running a ship rather than just playing on one. I’m looking forward to continuing to see him grow into the job and really take it on.

Vacancies: CSO
JOs in all Departments

Executive Officer: AJ Paulson

Senior Staff Posting Level: 8

Ship Status: We do have a few AWOLs. They have already been notified. We’re a bit slow due to the fact that we’re about in a new sim. Also finding out the reason why we’re spinning. We have a couple new DH who I can’t thank enough for being apart of the Chimera.

Spotlight: Cale: for being a really entertaining writer

Kat: for recommending me to be her new Executive Officer

Chimera Crew: for their very warm welcome me aboard

Vacancies: CoS
JO’s in every department

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Sim Overview: This is a pseudo sim - something to keep everyone on their toes while the new CO/XO and all get sorted out and ready.

After a crew transfer midway back to a Starbase for repairs Impulse Engine 3 blew. The cause is still not known and may never know with the damages there but it spun the Chimera about in space at almost 3G’s force before they were able to get a better handle on it. The impulse engines are not doing well with a second engine going offline and damage control reporting fires in the area and injuries. As they start to gain better control over the ship they are finding the damages are greater than feared with fire suppression systems offline in areas and air locks to vent to space on manual control.

FComm’s Comments: The Chimera is doing amazing under the super command duo of Kat and AJ. The summer months tend to slow posting on most ships yet the Chimera is within what is expected for a ship of its size and roster with 102 posts for the month. The command team has created a pseudo sim for the players on the ship so that they are engaged and active as Kat and AJ recruit for a few positions which seem to be filling up fast. I am so excited to read this ship in the coming weeks and months. While the roster may have a few open slots, the crew is filled with top-notch writers that are sure to create stories that will run the gambit from drama, personal, humorous, and exciting. Great job this month guys.

Ship Status: New XO, who’s jumped head-first into the problem with us through the Looking glass, though she’s on the other side. Big thanks to Melissa Aragon for jumping in as my new XO. Ship is slow, but we’re supposed to be, so nothing major there

Spotlight: The entire crew, for not going crazy when I was absent.

Vacancies: Need chief of security, and JOs in all departments. Free cookies to first 10 applicants.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Tyra Schroll

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 4

Sim Overview: The crew has been kidnapped by unknown persons and have found themselves in an Alice in Wonderland meets horror story type situation. The new XO is trying to figure out what happened to everyone after she comes to in the shuttle bay and finds that she and three other people are the only ones on the ship…or are they....

FComm’s Comments: The Connie’s posting for the first month of summer has started off to a slower start however this is not unusual or unexpected as many ships seem to dip and waver with the like the oceans we go on vacation to visit. I am sure that in July the Connie will be back up to speed like a jet ski skimming surf. Melissa Aragon has joined the ship as the new XO and jumped into the roll both feet first. Mouse continues to create a fantastical tale that makes wait for each new twist and turn to her story. The crew is very engaged with each other and in the main sim. The writing by all the crew is fun to read so if you are looking for a great group of writers to follow look no farther than this ship.

Ship Status: As with Oed V, I feel like a broken record.

Things could be worse, things could also be better.

Thanks to patience shown to me.

Sim Overview: Survivors are finally aboard the ship, and anxiously await their friends’ statuses. Meanwhile, former Viking Captain Nakuto deals with the mocking from the computer, and something disturbing is awakening on the lower decks.

Spotlight: Sharon. She jumped back into the Viking like she never left, and has been my go-to when I need a PC to blow something up, or rather, take charge of a situation

AFComm’s Comments: While there have been some AWOL’s this month, the Viking did produce 143 posts for the month which puts it within posting expectations for a ship of its speed and for the number of crew on its roster. Summer tends to see posting fluctuate however, I want to say that behind the scenes, this command team exemplifies what it means to work as a team. In matters regarding the ship, the CO, XO, and GMT have shown several times what all ships should strive for: a team that listens, communicates, and takes into account different perspectives on a topic. Steven and I have had the privilege of being part of some communications within this command team which showed how they work together as a team to create the best RP experience for those on the ship. The main sim continues to be everything you would expect and more with a lot of crew activity and participation. Keep up the great work guys and I am so excited to see the return of Thunderdome. I have been glued to that thread since you started posting to it. I can’t wait to see who wins the championship.
