The Pioneer Fleet Report - March 2021

USS Athena

Commanding Officer: Lindsay Bayes

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: It was a slightly slower month and I was on LOA most of the month so can’t really comment on everything going on. Still lots of side sims and Ian has kicked off our new sim which involves R&R. But the idea of a place where “dreams come true” makes my CO nervous and she doesn’t even know Q is lurking somewhere. Fun times!

Spotlight:

Vacancies: 1 x Eng JO
1 x Med JO
1 x Sci JO

Executive Officer: Miriam W

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: There are a lot of good side sims going on, and the main sim is just beginning to pick up steam.

Spotlight: The interactions going on between Viyara Nazeen and Dagum Hammor are great to see, and I appreciate the care they put into their story.

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: Ian Kerby

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Admiral Anethamai and her two bodyguards Yami and Izanami Senso have called for a party in Athena’s Parthenon lounge to while away the time as the ship travels full stem ahead to “Fantasy Planet”, the destination for their R&R.

Spotlight: James Sinclair as Daggum Hammor has made his presence felt throughout the ship.

AFComm’s Comments: AFComm: Well an exciting end to an exciting sim and the Athena crew deserve the R&R that Ian seems to be cooking up for the main sim. The side sims have been good to read and while there have been some LOAs the ship has continued to preform well. Amazing job guys.

USS Atlantis

Commanding Officer: Kate O’Neill

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: The Atlantis is doing well for the month of March with 187 posts. This is within normal limits for a ship of her size and posting speed. Several members have had some real-life issues that cropped up causing AWOL’s and LOA’s. As these issues decrease the posting rate will increase as life returns to normal. The main sim is moving along and as always, Luke has a place for everyone. In the main sim, the crew is currently in talks with the pirates to see what we can trade to get the parts we need to get back home. Several side sims continue with departmental check in’s working on character development.

Spotlight: I would like to Leonora. She is a new member of the crew and I am so excited to read and learn about her character and our newest member of the Atlantean family. Evrilla, if you haven’t checked her bio out is a pathologist and civilian doctor.

Vacancies:

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Luke Hung

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: Ship has a full crew and numerous active players. We have split the mission roughly between a negotiation team on the Pirate ship and the crew left behind trying to get clues to either better understand the quadrant they are in, or to better trade with pirates that no one seems to want to work with. There is a little drag as the negotiation team is moving slower than the star-ship team creating some sync issues for me.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: Activity is okay though there are a number of AWOLs and LOAs.

As Gene is on LOA he is excused from this month’s report.

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Katherine Dedul

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Overall the ship is doing well. We’ve had a few LOAs that have slowed some things, but generally they were short and we carried on.

My favorite moment on the ship this month was the interaction between James Sinclair and Travis Good, who are my marine air group and battalion commanders. They’re in charge of assisting with protecting the mining ships and helping the crew figure out what became of the missing starship the USS Shogun.

We have a few new faces who are interacting quite nicely as well. I am still looking for a CNS and I am always looking for keen JOs to round out our ranks as well.

Spotlight: As I mentioned, James Sinclair and Travis Good seem to have a great rapport. Our newest member Matt B. appears to be jumping right in with both feet which is lovely to see as well.

Vacancies:

Executive Officer: AJ Paulson

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: We’re just now getting involved heavily in the main sim. A Federation mining colony asked for assistance and HQ had sent the Chimera to investigate a murder and a lost ship. We’ve already inspected the scene of the murder now we’re starting interrogation.

Spotlight: James Sinclair- for being very engaging with the new Battlion Commander

Calé welcome back! We’re glad to see the old Doc Reilly back in action.

Vacancies: No vacancies

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Activity seems okay with a handful of AWOLs and a couple LOAs.

Gene is again excused as he’s on LOA.

USS Dresden

Commanding Officer: Joana Ribeiro

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: March saw posting picking up on the Dresden again. As part of our recruiting, we welcomed David Stiles to the crew as Warrant Officer Hsull, the Dresden’s new Chief Tactical Officer.

With the sim moving along, and with side sims picking back up, I am confident that the Dresden will keep its current speed during April.

Spotlight: This month I would like to spotlight David Stiles for hitting the ground running the moment he set foot on the Dresden. His depiction of Hsull has been an incredible read and I am really looking forward to read his further interactions with the crew! I would particularly like to spotlight his ‘Getting Settled’ thread.

Vacancies: CE, JOs in all departments

Executive Officer: Ben Z

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The Dresden has been chugging along well this month, with good participation from all crewmates. The sim is about to get very interesting as we make in-person contact with the aliens aboard the mysterious vessel! Our new tactical officer, Hsull, has created some great opportunities for side-sims with the XO, CNS, and CMO characters, and we hope to continue to encourage more side-sim threads in the future. A major side-sim, Me, Mysymbiont, and I, should wrap up this month, so I’ll be keeping an eye out personally for opportunities to write more with other crew members! I have continued to reach out to club members that we’d love to have aboard, but if I have missed you and you’d like to join, please contact me or Joana!

Spotlight: David Stiles as Warrant Officer Hsull! He has been a great addition to our crew and has brought along a stellar officer with a lot of character already! I look forward to seeing where his writing will take us!

Vacancies: Chief Engineer (CE)! JOs in all departments and swing positions.

Gamemaster: James Sinclair

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 5

Sim Overview: The Dresden has arrived at Julian Echo station and is in the process of docking with an alien vessel that is half -in and half - out of some kind of stasis field. The crew is hoping that by dealing with the unknown aliens docked at the station, they may be able to find clues as to how to free the station and vessel from the field.

Spotlight:

AFComm’s Comments: AFComm: The Dresden has had some AWOLs and LOAs this month but the sim keeps moving forward. The side sims have been fun to read and some great character development in going on. I’m confident that the crew endgame to will continue to pick up. Well done guys!

USS Ogawa

Commanding Officer: Calé Reilly

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 4
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The main sim has started but slowed somewhat due to my LOA. We have slowed down across the ship but there are some really amazing side sims and character development going on so I am hopeful things will pick up.

Spotlight: Everyone! Nick as always is very entertaining, Silke and Brandon, I have loved their interactions. Jake has been amazing as his medical student character, Linds and Amber, I am enjoying the relationship between their characters as it develops. Matt and Sam, River and Amie. Honestly I can’t name everyone.

Vacancies: Swings, JOs

Executive Officer: Lindsay Bayes

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: A slower month but we’ve kicked off a new sim. I was away most of the month on LOA so I’ll have more to say about everything next month.

Spotlight:

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Activity has slowed though the new sim starting should pick things up. Several AWOLs and LOAs.

Geoff is excused as he’s on LOA.

Outpost 42

Commanding Officer: Adam W.

Crew Posting Level: 3
Senior Staff Posting Level: 3
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: It was another slow month, but we are supposed to go at a slow pace. There were a fair bit of LOA’s and AWOL, but as of this writing the roster ended up making it back to mostly green. We could use some more activity and more threads from pretty much everyone.

Spotlight: James Sinclair for proactively starting a rather intriguing side sim about his character’s surprising artistry. And also Kate, because no one could roleplay from the perspective of dogs longing to be adopted quite like she can.

Vacancies: None!

Executive Officer: Kate O’Neill

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: The Outpost’s posting has slowed some however, that has been the ebb and flow of life for over a year now. As people return from LOA’s and AWOL’s, the posting rate increases with the same creativity and energy that defines the Outpost. The main sim has had several new plot twists evolving in a story that is engaging and fun. A new side sim about an art exhibit promises to entertain whether you are able to post to or simply read it. The covert civilian mission that did not end up with a planet exploding is slowly coming full circle with the Sabre returning home.

Spotlight: I would like to spotlight Steven Sigle. He is always fun to read and his posts often take unexpected turns moving a story not necessarily in the direction you thought you would be going but ending in something amazing.

Vacancies:

Gamemaster: No report submitted

AFComm’s Comments: AFComm: The outpost has had some AWOLs and LOAs this past month but they have continued to work on both the main sim and side sims and things will hopefully continue to pick up and player engagement with it. Good effort folks!

The GM is not excused from this months report.
