The Pioneer Fleet Report - October 2021
USS Athena
Commanding Officer: Riley W
How is your ship looking overall? Overall we’ve been going fairly well. We lost D as XO because of IRL reasons, so I appointed Tony Findora as XO. I’m excited to see what promoting Orvos will bring to the ship. I think it’ll be good.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Once more, I just really want to recruit. I’ve been slowly losing crewmembers. We have no one in Security now.
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: Ian Kerby
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Ares is about to attack and Hades is with him. Suddenly creatures of myth are myth no more. Can the crew rescue their ship from the hand of the Minotaur and will their new allies prevail against all hell broken loose.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?
FComm’s Comments: The Athena lost an XO, but they already have a plan in place with Tony and now just need a CE to replace him. The sim is going well and everything seems to be smooth here.
USS Atlantis
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: Gene Gibbs
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? We’re running a bit slow here these days. The ship has many threads happening but the pace seems to at best be described as ‘casual’. Our good Captain has begun a multi thread side sim that is assisting in the activity of the troops, including myself. We’re moving along in what could be considered a slow forward pace which I’m okay with. A dual sim and side sim appears to be doing the trick for activity. DH’s of which most of the ship is made up of, are involved
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our ‘one’ crew member who doesn’t have Chief in front of his name is, alas, away, and am hoping for a return.
Who is the shining star this month? Our good Captain Kate who is trying her hand of running a comprehensive side sim with a unique story and impressive line up of characters.
Gamemaster: Luke Hung
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: 50,000 light years from home, the Atlantis made a questionable agreement with some space pirates to repair their damaged star-ship. Now confronted by this region’s big bad, the Darkness. They have to choose stand and fight, or run and hide....
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?
FComm’s Comments: Looks like this ship is a little slow for now, though everyone seems engaged. The CO seems to be on top of keeping people involved and interested. I see no issues with this ship and have no worries.
USS Chimera
Commanding Officer: Katherine Dedul
How is your ship looking overall? Lack of a GM is the only major sticking issue on the ship. As a result, we have a lot of AWOLs that I suspect would resolve with an active GM providing simming opportunities to the crew. Beyond that, I could use a new CMO and perhaps a few JOs to round things out. However, the GM recruitment is going to be what the main focus will be going into the next month.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Things were pretty slow this month, but I have to give a shout out to my CSO (Keiron Hoult), my CNS (Lori Miller), and my two marine fighter pilots (Hjortur Ingi and Nathan Derricut) for doing what they can to keep busy with basically a stalled mission.
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.GM recruitment will be the primary focus, once we have one secured, I will address the CMO vacancy.
Executive Officer: AJ Paulson
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?DHs are slowly coming back in both side sims and main sims
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?JOs are doing great with who we have on our ship.
Who is the shining star this month? Kat Dedul. For keeping us busy as we go through this process of finding a new GM.
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: Will keep an eye on the GM recruitment process for the next month. Hopefully they will be able to find one and get back on track soon!
USS Dresden

Executive Officer: No report submitted

USS Ogawa
Commanding Officer: Calé Reilly
How is your ship looking overall? The ship is working away at the main sim and some great side sims going on as well.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I’ve enjoyed the interactions with the medical staff this month along with some of the threads that have been continuing in terms of character development
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I’m still working on being more present due to ill health and working on getting that balance right.
Executive Officer: Lindsay Bayes
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Many of the DHS are actively involved in the sim. We’re are at a stage in the sim where the crew is on the surface of Unroth providing aid in whatever form the locals require and all departments have something active to do now. In side sims, most are keeping busy. I’d like to see 100%participation but we’re getting there and aware of the issues.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? We’ve got a bunch of people who have been on LOA and some slight attrition, but for the most part it’s not affecting the forward momentum of the sim and where we need more people present , NEs are used, though I’d like to see more people on the surface getting ready to interact with the locals, which is the whole point of the mission.
Who is the shining star this month? Jen has been adding a lot of extra fun with her therapy dog, Frigga. Matt and River had a lovely thread in the lounge where there was a debate about the emotions and how they are expressed. And I loved seeing Abagail and River doing a cross-ship sharing of medical journals.
Sometimes it’s the quieter ad more subtle touches on a ship that can add so much extra depth. It’s much appreciated.
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: GM didn’t give a report, but the Main Sim is going well. The ship is active.
Outpost 42
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: Liam Schoepp
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Engineering, where everything began, and where it will end. The last piece to be found, the captain getting ready to destroy it, the fate of the outpost resting on one person crawling through the innards of the Outpost… Just one more push, and then all of this chaos will be over.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Christopher Logan gets the kudos this month for helping to keep the sim going. His character has been finding ways to keep involved even though they are not in the think of the action, so fantastic job with that!
FComm’s Comments: XO and CO didn’t fill out the report. Sim seems to be going well. People seem engaged.
