The Pioneer Fleet Report - January 2022

USS Athena

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Tony Findora

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have what DHs we have parcitipating. January has been a very slow month overall. I had covid end of December leading into the beginning half of January. That being said, the threads I was involved in were stalled for a bit. We don’t have all of the DH positions filled either. I’m still technically playing as the CE (IC) while taking on the responsibilities of XO (OOC). Once this sim is over, I’m sure we’ll have a thread for that.

We do have some LOA and a couple AWOL (which will be addressed soon). With our GM on LOA at the moment, things are just slower. I have a strong feeling Athena will pick up soon.

We are in need of engineering and security staff for sure, which I will be recruiting very soon.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We don’t have many JO’s and they are waiting for Ian’s return. I’ll try to cook something up for them to do in the form of side-sim.

Who is the shining star this month? James Sinclair sticks out as he consistently posts when there is something to reply to. I’m also really enjoying the character development he creates both in and out of main sim. Solid writing! Keep it up!

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: 76 posts for the month of January, I’m glad to see continued involvement in both the main and side sims.

CO and GM reports are excused this month.

USS Atlantis

Commanding Officer: Kate O’Neill

How is your ship looking overall? The Atlantis is chugging along at a nice and steady pace. The main sim is moving along with us heading back to the base we needed a quick exit from earlier on. Kelly is baking humble pies by the dozen if needed. The XO and CMO continue a wonderful story about Andorian customs. Nash’s back story is being revealed and connecting the dots from perfect officer to the gruff, cigar smoking character we all love. Jen and James have added more to their story which is evolving wonderfully and exciting to read. Heathcliff Rinker continues to have his hands full with his mini religious zealot patient Jessa. Tenzig Trainor is settling into his role and training the new science officer played by Jordy Klein. Evrilla is helping the new engineer Ronar settle i to his quarters and prepping him for his dinner with the Captain. Kelly is having a lunch date with her ex-Borg engineering officer. Styxx is involved in trying to battle her way off the alien ship and meeting the new CTO Maddy Sullivan.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I am loving that we got three new crew on the ship. I have always been a fan of Tyra’s writing so it’s exciting to have her back on the ship. We also have two new first time Atlanteans.

Malcom is playing an engineer

Jordy is a science officer.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Get more personal, character development side sims going with the crew. Everyone has a story and I want to encourage them to write it and share it.

Executive Officer: Gene Gibbs

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The ship is a bit of a mixed bag and not exactly restored from the holidays, or, I suppose one can say, the season. I know there are a couple of illnesses and recoveries in there, which is again the season. Those who are present are active and engaged. Admittedly we’re at a bit of a stall on having generated multiple assignments for the crew to do and awaiting that to happen. We have moved from one setting and are in transit to another and, in the concept of the overall sim, between Acts, and so the momentum has dropped some and with the Christmas slow down, has not really picked up yet.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We do have a couple now, both new, and started last month though momentum is a bit down. Will be checking more on them in the coming month.

Who is the shining star this month? Leonora is stretching her building her character wings in interesting directions, and Dave Shotton is ever an amazing writer.

Gamemaster: Luke Hung

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Atlantis posting was ridiculously high last month. However it was mostly on the very large secondary sim. Posts on the main sim was lower. The ship has now out run the Darkness Octopus and are returning to the scene of the crime, Base 5. When last we left Base 5 an erstwhile security officer tried to put about 10,000 people in one section of the huge mile long star base under arrest… needless to say it didn’t work out quite the way he expected.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: 208 posts for the month of January, seems to be more engagement in the side sims rather than the main, however the ship has a robust and healthy crew.

USS Chimera

Commanding Officer: Katherine Dedul

How is your ship looking overall? Overall, the ship is okay. We’re still recovering a bit from the Christmas time slump, plus I had some family issues mid-month that had me on LOA. However, we do appear to be headed right into the action for the sim that Kirt has prepared for us.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I’m down a CNS and I’d like to recruit a few more JOs to round out the crew.

FComm’s Comments: 54 posts for January, on the slower side but nothing to be worried about. A higher prevalence of AWOLS however.

USS Ogawa

Commanding Officer: Calé Reilly

How is your ship looking overall? Overall the owie is doing well. We have some good side sims going on and excellent character development. The Main Sim is also ticking by and we’ve had some good advancement of that.

We also welcomed back new players this month which is great.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I can’t pick this month there have been so so many.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I’d like us to have a little more focus on the main sim and to continue the character development threads to their conclusions and see where that takes our crew.

How is your ship looking overall? Overall we’re fine with everyone posting. We just started a Main Sim

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Being appointed the CO of OP42

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Getting everyone involved a side sim for fun ie a holodeck exercise for the entire crew to see what their new Captain is all about.

Executive Officer: Kate O’Neill

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The DH’s are active in writing with side sins and the main sim. Since the holidays are over we have seen an influx of new crew settling in filling vacant roles. It’s exciting to meet all the new writers and read thier storylines.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Still on the lookout for JO’s. If you have an idea I am sure AJ and I would love to talk to you about it.

Who is the shining star this month? Nathan Derricutt. I am really loving the exploration of his new counselor. It’s fresh, fun, and exciting to read.
