The Meridian Fleet Report - October 2018

USS Brian A. Olinski

Commanding Officer: Sidney Parker

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Overall I feel good about the Olinski. The main threads are moving well and the sim is progressing well. Most crew are involved if not all.

Spotlight: Our Gm Kenson for always being aware of who needs to get involved and setting up threads to help that happen. Also the X R Smith for really just doing the XO job very well. R picks up slack where needed and always notices when a crew member is kinda not posting and throws then a line or two to get them in the sim.

Executive Officer: R Smith

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 4

Ship Status: Posting really dropped off in September. Side threads are nearly nonexistent. LOAs are more common, and players are often posting late. Even our GM has gone AWOL. A HUGE change from last month.

Spotlight: Special mention to our captain Sidney Parker for keeping the sim going almost by himself. Spotlight on Luke Hung who plays Chief Science Officer Balfor Kolar for making each of his posts, creative, insightful, in character, and moving the story along. Special mention to Sam Pennington, who plays our Chief Engineering Officer for stepping up. And a special thank you to Ray Branch, who plays our ship’s Counselor Trevor Michaels for continuing to participate despite a 50 hour workweek.

Gamemaster: Kenson Koh

Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 9

Sim Overview: The Olinski has been sent to investigate the Antioch system where communications ceased. A Pendragon class ship, USS Dragoon, has also stopped responding after it was sent to investigate.

Armed with this little information, the Olinski moved cautiously as they neared the Antioch system. They were able to detect the Dragoon in orbit over one of the planets but most of the systems were offline. The planet showed human habitation but in a pre-coal civilisation. Yet, microwaves were detected emanating from the planet, strongest where the Dragoon was over.

This month: There has been contact with someone from the Dragoon, a little girl. At the same time, an away team has gone to the Dragoon to see what had happened to the ship and her crew.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: Some slow posting here and there but overall ship is doing well. The crew has been moving the sim along and it’s been interesting to see where they plan to go.

USS Chernov

Commanding Officer: Krystelle McLean

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: It has been a really slow month for us this month mostly due to Josh’s long LOA due to his move. After about a week of re orientating and finding all our threads for the sim we are trying to kick it into gear again and get away from these Cardassians.

Spotlight: We have recently welcomed Robert (Ducky) Thompson to the Chernov as Comms Officer. Ducky has brought aboard a very gay, funny character who I look forward to getting to know.

Executive Officer: Travis Good

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The ship is in dire straits. One of the nacelles is blown up and floating or in space. People are dead and floating beside the nacelle. There was one last ditch effort to reach a hole inside an asteroid to avoid utter destruction by Cardassian hands. We had to make the Cardassians believe we blew up in order to reach the asteroid. It worked but just as we were doing our maneuver, the Cardassians beamed six crew, three PC’s and three NPC’s, one of those beamed over was the XO.

When he woke up he was strapped to a table and his back molar was yanked out for identification purposes. Solomon Kane is still in the holding cells planning on kicking as much Cardassian butt as possible.

Spotlight: The whole crew for trying to stay in posting limits. We were racked by LOA’s this month by command staff. The GM had personal issues going on with moving. So the SIM almost came to a complete stop. But through side SIMs we kept going.

Gamemaster: Joshua Ezell

Crew Posting Level: 5
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: The Chernov is in a real pickle. Cardassians have kidnapped some crew and are attempting to destroy the vessel. Can they figure out a way to evade their pursuers and rescue their comrades?

Spotlight: None

FComm’s Comments: Chernov has been working hard to keep the main sim going, but it has had a slight dip in posts this month outside of that.

USS Odin

Commanding Officer: Steven Sigle

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Borg are looking for data on Locutus as we unravel the mysteries of the cube with no drones.

Spotlight:

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Kenson Koh

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: The Odin has been sent to investigate a tetrahedral shaped ship that had emerged from the exit point of the Borg transwarp node. The away team have discovered that the ship seems to be a single entity. They have also transported a bunch of nanites from the ship to Science. At the moment, they have only discovered that the nanites could not ‘infect’ an individual to turn them into the Borg,

This month: The away team has made contact and is communicating with the ship. On the Odin, communication towards the tetrahedral ship seems to be filtered and the CSO is trying to come up with a morse code message to the away team.

Spotlight:

FComm’s Comments: Odin has been a week bit slow, but overall they are well within the speed they need to be for a slow ship

USS Saracen

Commanding Officer: David Shotton

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: Slight slow down this month as I’ve had a hectic workload and our GMT unfortunately looks to have been hit by RL, but the ship still powered on with around 190 posts for September.

All round, were doing ok and waiting for a new GM, to be scouted out. Once I can recover some time to post, we should all be up and running with threads again.

Spotlight: Linds, Terry, Kate and Steve stand out for consistent posting, cheers people. Other than that, it’s been quiet.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Last month Saracen was last on the list, this month they nearly had 200 posts. They are moving the same and having fun. Would love to see some reports from rest of crew, as they were not excused.
