The Black Fleet Report - February 2022
USS Constellation
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: The Constellation has been struggling for some time. We have been interviewing remaining members and discussing options available to us right now and have not made a decision yet.
AFComm’s Comments: We’re discussing options. Have not made a decision on the outcome as of yet .
USS Europa
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: While there has been roleplaying happening on the Europa, quite a few members have been on LOA and the Captain has been AWOL. I have had discussions with Joe and have been aware of his limitations concerning posting. I have given leeway and he is back to posting.
AFComm’s Comments: I have been in contact with Janice. I have been in contact with Joe and he’s back to posting on the Europa. I believe the Flagship of the Black Fleet will be back to where they need to be next month. Keep it up Europa
USS Genesis
Commanding Officer: Luke Hung
How is your ship looking overall? We had a few crew additions and the holiday hang over seems to have worn off. I’d like some additional depth crew-wise but ship crew density is what it is. I have a side sim going on, and I have the XO starting his own. We kind of will be alternating new side sims to keep the ship a little more active. We are also going to prune a few long term AWOLs.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Working on side sims and cutting off some AWOL crewmembers.
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: Kenson Koh
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Genesis had encountered two civilisations in unexplored space. One was at the brink of discovering faster than light travelling, and the other an aggressive conquering race with warp capabilities. One away team was sent to make first contact with the first civilisation. The Genesis went towards the other world to engage the second civilisation. The second civilisation was actually spying on the first and seems to be intending to conquer the first civilisation. Negotiations seem to have broken down between the second civilisation and the Genesis.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?
FComm’s Comments: There have been a few AWOLS so I will keep my eye on the ship and see what perhaps needs to happen here. The ship is active though and I am not concerned yet.
AFComm’s Comments: The Genny is slowly getting back to where she needs to be. Luke and Hjortur are doing the best they can do. Will definitely keep an eye out more closely. Keep it up Genny
USS Merrimack
Commanding Officer: David Fergusson
How is your ship looking overall? The ship is doing great. It could always be better. Less waiting on replies, more detailed and longer replies, more questions asked, but this month has flown by. The new Sim is a continuation of the last Sim. The USS Merrimack picked up an alien stasis box containing a child. placed inside an Alstairean sleeper ship. Locating the origin of the stasis box the ship travelled there, expecting to make First Contact with an advanced civilisation. What they found was quite different and rather puzzling. This society sends out orphan children as “cuckoos” to other worlds, hoping that they are nurtured there, and learn about that new world’s technology and customs, and then return again so that their home planet may assimilate it. Most children never return, so the effectiveness of this policy is doubtful. The aliens live in orbital habitats and wear tin-foil hats. There is a nearby Nova which could be the recent remains of another planet, or which could be 600-years-old. They obviously have space technology, stasis technology and other advanced technologies, but no Warp-capable ships, and they seem primitive in other regards. Ever mindful of the Prime Directive, Captain Glen and his crew must tread very carefully. However, they need to learn more about this society, and the only way to do that will be to meet them in person.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? It was quite a shock when Robert Archer GM dropped the bombshell about the aliens not being warp-capable and being quite primitive…

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. My wish is still that crew would read all the posts before replying. There maybe things happening in one part of the ship that directly effect conversations in other areas. Even if your character themselves is unaware of the event they will experience the effects i.e. a blown power manifold in engineering could cut all power to sickbay.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The past month has seen the Merrimack crew establish contact with the alien race inhabiting the unknown system on a large space station habitat. The crew have setup some time to meet these aliens and learn more about them. Elsewhere, the medical and engineering crew have been questioning the sleeper pod child of this race.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?
FComm’s Comments: The Merrimack seems to be doing well enough keeping active. The sim is active and I am confident in the ship’s health.
AFComm’s Comments: The Merry keeps trudging along and still surprises me month after month. I’m liking the health status of the ship. Keep it up Merry.
Oed V
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: OED has had some serious awols. I will be speaking to leadership to determine what is going on. Up until this month, its been super healthy so I am not really worried yet. I would have liked to have reports from the leadership.
AFComm’s Comments: I will have to be more diligent about keeping an eye on things with the Colony. OED has been a club’s institution for years. I’d love to see it healthy and active.
USS Olympic
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: No report submitted
USS Wolverine
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: We got no reports from leadership this month. I will be making sure I spend more time engaging before reports are due. Terry is back after a long LOA and the other players are active.
AFComm’s Comments: I’m glad Terry is finally back. I’ll keep my eyes on the Wolverine to see how they do.
