The Foremost Fleet Report - March 2022
USS Ark Angel
Commanding Officer: Robert Archer
How is your ship looking overall? Overall the Ark Angel is doing amazing I think this past month. We had a few small hiccups with LOAs but overall the sim has made major progress this past month, especially in the last few days! I did have to let our CNS go so I am looking for someone to fill that roll. Otherwise overall everyone seems to be participating and having fun (I think/hope!).
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Ok I know I normally don’t always post a favorite moment in these reports, but I had to give a shout out to this post https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/arkangel/posts/169015/ - earlier by Abilgail G her reaction to random shooting MACOS in a tight controlled space to hit a bouncing green blob just made me giggle alot!
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. Improvement wise? Find a CNS ideally, beyond that I don’t see much else needing work beyond the usual
Executive Officer: Sam Pennington
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The DHs have been engaged and keeping busy. Most activity is in the main sim, but there is some side simming.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? JO’s are keeping busy as well, primarily in the main sim.
Who is the shining star this month? Kirt Gartner, as Miz’uki.
Gamemaster: Robert Archer
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Sim wise the Ark Angel is divided into about two major groups, one group is on the SS Synthesis, but then of that group they have broken further into 4 parties. The team with the XO is investigating the Synthesis computer core for more of the strange green blobs, Trax on his own is trying to follow a life support tubing line where another of the green blobs went down into that he could not follow through, and Valura is in a crew quarters with a trapped green blob and two trigger happy MACO NEs from the Synthesis trying to trap another green blob, lastly the engineering team on the Synthesis lead by the Angel’s CE is on their way to Valura’s position with mobile force field emitters to try their hand at capturing said blob.
Over on the Ark Angel a security team and medical team encountered a strange pair of ghostly like late 18th century twins who urged them to ‘join them’, before fading away. Investigation by this team netted them some gooey samples to study further, so they are on their way to join the remaining science JOs to study up on this find.
Seriously hasn’t anyone taught these folks not to split up the party? LOL
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?
FComm’s Comments:
The Ark Angel looks good as always. Rob has already filled the CNS role but is now looking for a CMO. The sim is moving along and everyone is engaged and participating.
Fleet Awards
Starship Trooper nominations: Abilgail G and Kirt Gartner
USS Asimov
Commanding Officer: Sam Pennington
How is your ship looking overall? The Asimov has been picking up. Especially towards the end of the month. We still need to replace Jake, having left a CSO vacancy, but with plenty of activity that should be doable.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/asimov/posts/168710/ I thought this post was just… very good.
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. Want to get the sim moving properly again with James coming back and fill the CSO vacancy.
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments:
XO Report Missing
GM Report Missing - Exempt due to family illness.
The Asimov has been slow to move in the main sim due to the necessary LOA of the GM. However the crew has been maintaining their activity with a few side sims. Activity at the end of the month has picked up and she appears to be back on her way. I will touch base with Sam to see if the FComm team can help in filling the CSO gap.

Starship Trooper nomination: Lindsay Bayes
SS Bonaventure
Commanding Officer: Melissa Aragon
How is your ship looking overall? Bonnie is doing well. Sim done and we’re taking a breather. Was a wild ride and we had a blast. Hoping to encourage some side sim character building.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I don’t think there’s a link to give. Everyone did amazing in the sim. Special shout out to the GM, Roach, who was absolutely phenomenal!
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. Side sim personal growth threads.
Executive Officer: Steve Johnson
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Things have been really slow this month. We finally are wrapping up the simm, but at the cost of a few DH’s. It’s been hard to recruit new people to the Bonnie, but hopefully things will start to look better as we get a new mission going soon.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Out the same, the Jo’s have been pretty active helping us wrap up the mission.
Who is the shining star this month? Gene Gibbs, he did a great job in helping push the simm through to the finale.
Gamemaster: Robert Archer
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The sim has ended!!! YAY! The Bonaventure in a nail biting maneuver was able to block the comm signal of the strange artifact in orbit of the planet from transmitting. In so doing the Bonnie got shaken up a bit but everyone pulled through fine. The alien device then exploded internally and shut down but with radiation levels still so high no one is going to be getting inside it for decades or more to come.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? I want to give a big shout to Gene Gibbs for helping to drive ahead the last leg of this sim and getting it closed, thank you man!
FComm’s Comments: The Bonnie has finished her sim and the CO is encouraging side sim activity for fun and characterization. There are several vacancies on the Bonnie that need to be filled. She is very much a niche ship, focusing on the Enterprise Era of Trek. It is a unique ship to the club and has a lot of potential. Anyone who is interested in trying out a character from that era should contact Mel or Steve.

Dungeon Master: Rob Archer
USS Leviathan
Commanding Officer: Matt Evans
How is your ship looking overall? We’re looking fantastic. Nathan and I have reached out and acquired some fantastic people to fill in our missing DH spots and a JO position. Unfortunately we just lost our CE to real life and time limitations. We’re on the hunt for a replacement but I don’t foresee a large problem in filling that too. The crew is still on R&R after the early termination of the last sim and it’s giving everyone a chance to rub shoulders with the new folks.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I want to give a shout out to Jenn for helping me roleplay out an official sort of handover of command.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. Find a CE and fill our last open JO spot in medical.
Executive Officer: Nathan Miller
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? March was a great month for Leviathan as we almost doubled our posting numbers. We had great performances out of the gate from our new DHs and wonderful interactions going on with our existing crew. We’re in between sims at the moment letting the crew get used to each other. We’re quite excited to see what this stellar crew can do.
Both Matt and I have been under the weather back to back, and that’s slowed our momentum a little, but we’ve seen what we’re capable of and know we can get back there.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? We have a couple of new faces here as well helping us bring some new blood into this weird world, and they’ve been rocking along pretty well too, introducing themselves and getting acquainted.
Who is the shining star this month? I can’t spotlight just one single person - everyone has been contributing to the resurgence we’ve been seeing, newcomers and long term residents; DHs, JOs, and swings. It’s been so much fun to watch!

FComm’s Comments: GM report: Exempt, ship is self-sim

Ship of the Month Nomination
Having written on the Leviathan before, I can say she is a beast. She will always keep coming back for more no matter what is thrown at her. Matt and Nathan have done an incredible job of filling out their roster, getting the crew engaged, and committed. They have both been out sick this month, but despite that the ship has doubled their numbers for the last month. A testament to their leadership. I had a great time this month helping Matt play out the hand over of the Leviathan to a new captain, as a guest writers. Even when not part of the action, I particularly love to see these types of threads that cross over ships or pull in elements from the greater universe that add depth and design to the ships and sims.
If you are looking for a truly unique Trek experience and to really stretch your imagination and writing, take a look at Leviathan. She is looking for a new CE and open for JO spots.
USS Manhattan
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: Jennifer Ward
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our main sim is still in the beginning stages, but intense and I can’t wait to see what happens next. All of our DHs have plenty to do, and medical is hoping trying to figure out what has happened to us all. All the DHs have really taken the clues that Gene has given us and run with creating a beautifully creative picture of what they are doing and how they are going about it. With lots of Trek-ese in the mix and personal character development as well.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? We really have only one JO at the moment. Our Helm officer who has been fun to get to know. As we are now facing off with a possibly hostile ship, I am excited to see his piloting skills in action.
Who is the shining star this month? David Shotton as Lt Cmdr Max Wynter (CE). He and Kate O’Neill (Lt Jasmine Wynter, CMO) have created an action packed side-sim that I can’t wait to read each time they update it. Max Wynter is the kind of hero of a romance novel that you have to love. Someone has kidnapped his wife, faked her death, and he’s going to get her back at any cost. Any one reading it can’t help but imagine the things Max is going to do to the people who took his wife. Especially when Max’s thoughts allow us to follow what he is beginning to plan.
This is by no means the beginning, but it is worth going back to find it. An excellent story from two excellent writers.
https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/manhattan/posts/168944/
Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Manhatten experienced an energy wave that, by all indications, may have had a temporal component to it. The crew have been affected by this - some older, and some younger. However, the space around them appears to be the same star system - even if that had changed greatly itself. A small transport was present in the system captained by a strangely dressed Kazon named Zerul, openly nervous about seeing the Manhattan. This became even more when large ships from the ‘Crimson Hegemony’ came on approach wherein he fled. They approached the Manhattan demanding a transit pass or patroonship for being within Hegemony space, representing the ‘Great Emperor Marakis’.
Sickbay is attending those who were affected by this temporal change. Most, it seemed, were minor changes, however some were greatly changed by years or decades with two having died of what looked to be ‘old age’. Engineering is sifting through thousands of computer flagged overdue preventive maintenance tickets indicating the wave too affected the ship, however nothing ‘looks’ serious at the moment.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Jennifer Ward, XO and Kate O’Neill in medical have been the star posters for this past month. Things have been slow and that is in part to me who is working to readjust myself after some work changes.
FComm’s Comments: CO Report Missing: Exempt due to RL illness
The Manhattan is a second character only ship. That means great writers and great stories and a crew with a lot of experience in the club. The sim is moving along a bit slow as well all get our feet back under us, but it is moving at a steady pace, with plenty to do. The Manhattan has openings for JOs in all departments as well as swings. If you loved Voyager this is the ship to explore a new frontier and meet friends and enemies you never expected.

Starship Trooper Nomination: David Shotton, Kate O’Neill, Jennifer Ward
USS Memorial
Commanding Officer: Kirt Gartner
How is your ship looking overall? We are doing good plugging along in the sim slowly but surely got spots to fill but what ship does not
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I am currently in a deep character development thread with our New CNS played by Trinity Fister. Tralla is debating weather or not to try again at being a mommy and is having a though time justifying doing so because she feels like she is not worthy of being a mother.
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. Fill spots get the sim really cooking and maybe Finish the dang MOTD upgrade (I need to get off my backside on that one :P))
Executive Officer: No report submitted
Gamemaster: Sam Pennington
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Memorial was called to the planet Eridion to examine a distress signal sent from a Starfleet base thought to be long abandoned. An away team was dispatched to investigate and has discovered a squad of automatons defending the base, claiming to serve a King.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Nicholas Villarreal, as XO Dantius Massana.
FComm’s Comments: XO Report missing: Exempt, XO is enjoying a RL vacation. Wish we all could. :) Have fun!
The Memorial continues to plug along. The CO has a few projects he is working on for the ship. The sim is well written and has plenty for everyone to do. Memorial is in need of JOs. There are several ships that do and the club is stretched thin. However, if you are looking for a ship with a slow posting speed that will allow you to really delve into your character and stretch and see what you can do, Memorial is a great place for that. She has openings for JOs in all departments and the command team is open to swing positions as well.
Fleet Awards
Starship Trooper Nominations: Trinity Fister, Nicholas Villarreal
Overall I think the fleet looks good. Last month there were several unexcused reports and that number is down to one this month. The ships seem to be turning over and waking up. There are several spots to fill across the fleet and any ship in Foremost Fleet would be an excellent choice for someone looking for a first ship or a second one.
