The Foremost Fleet Report - December 2022

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

How is your ship looking overall? We’ve had a few AWOLS and LOAs this holiday season myself included, which has slowed the sim down. But overall we’re doing ok considering. Sim is moving along again and everyone is getting reoriented to the final bits of the sim to play out.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I want to get everyone back up to our usual posting speeds and habits

Executive Officer: Mika Jackson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? All the DH’s did a great job posting despite the holiday season. We were able to move the sim pretty far ahead.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Not many side sims happening right now, but despite the holiday season and the relaxed posting limits, posting stayed pretty consistent. Not many side sims happening right now.

Who is the shining star this month? I think everyone did a great job this month on the ship. However, the trophy would go to Christopher Huskins for really moving along the medical part of the sim.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Ark Angel has just sent out the subspace temporal pulses to bring the two headed space serpent, the Forseth and their home system, and the Volgograd back into normal sync with the prime reality. So far things are going well and the serpent has been defeated.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: The Ark Angel had 105 posts in the last month, and a the time of this report seems to be in healthy condition with all members showing green or LOA.

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Sage Pennington

How is your ship looking overall? December is always a slower month. But we still had some decent activity and a small holiday event. Things are running pretty smoothly because we’ve got a really amazing crew.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The plan for the next stage of the sim is in place, and the whole thread where we settled that out was really fantastic.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. We need a CSO. Story-wise it’s not urgent, but I’d like to see that gap in the roster closed.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Asimov had 75 posts this month which is pretty good for a slow ship during the holiday season. With any luck activity should pick up with the ship about to pull a high level heist. Currently the roster is mostly green with a few outstanding AWOLs, but those should clear up soon.

USS Leviathan

Commanding Officer: Mika Jackson

How is your ship looking overall? Up until the later part of December, the ship was in great shape! We had one or two AWOLs, however, when the relaxed posting limits were announced, people slowly started to fall into AWOL. However posting has increased from the previous month, in Nov the Leviathan had 60 posts and in Dec posting increased to 156, although only 128 of these were substantial and the other 28 were welcoming new crew to the ship.
We managed to fill all DH roles, bringing on Trinity Fister’s character Amparo Álvaro-Byrd as the CMO, David Shotton’s character Than Osedi as CE, Kieron Hoult’s character Ashara Mavix as the CoS and Travis Good’s character Jean Francios Millet as the COO. One character, Kitiuas “Kit” Thenis played by Chris Huskins, on the ship was promoted to CSO after a brief discussion with the other two science officers and we were able to bring on Amdirgol S. who joined us as an Ensign Medical Officer.
With all these new arrivals we are operating with an almost full roster. I am hoping to get a few more JOs on board and fill some of the RTF roles as well.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? My favorite moment on the ship was the appearance of our CIO and our Counselor in the same thread. This gave me an opportunity to learn more about these two characters.

I am hoping to have more great interactions with them.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.AWOLs are always going to be one of my top focuses. Besides AWOLs I want to start moving the two sims along that Amanda and Sage created to get a good story line going and to keep everyone busy. I also want to increase communication! I would like there to be more interaction between the writers, for example have DH’s reachout more to their JOs to see how they are doing, also have JOs reach out to their DHs if they have need anything. I am not exactly sure how I can push this along but I have some ideas that use in my RL job to start with.

Amanda’s Sim: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/leviathan/posts/195117/
Sage’s Sim: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/leviathan/posts/196311/

Executive Officer: Sage Pennington

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Activity is improving. December is a rough first month for a command team because of the holidays and relaxed limits, but people seem engaged in the effort to revitalize the Leviathan.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We don’t have many, but those we have are building activity, just like the DHs.

Who is the shining star this month? The Gecko herself, Mika Jackson. She’s really put her back into making the Levi work, and work well.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Leviathan had 137 posts which is solid for a standard pace ship especially after a rough couple of months. It looks like the new CO and XO are settling in nicely. There’s some outstanding red in the roster. Some of that is only people being a day or so behind. The others hopefully should clear up soon.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Jennifer Ward

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?In the last month we have found a new COS and a new CSO so our senior staff is full! YAY! Rusty has joined us as Lieutenant Satok Valharra (CSO) and Meli has joined us as Lieutenant Junior Grade Juliet Anders (CoS).

Things have been slow due to the holidays, but with the club wide holiday AWOL limits lifted and things returning to normal, activity should pick up. Gene, the extraordinary Wookie, has given us a wonderful sim update already to give us a refresher and help us get back on track.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Manhattan is in need of JOs in every department. If you enjoyed Voyager, Manhattan is the place for you. I encourage anyone interested to come by and take a read at the threads and ask questions and then reach out to myself or James.

Who is the shining star this month? Hands down this last month our Shinning star is our very own CO, James Sinclair (Fleet Captain Alexander Cochrane). He is absolutely everywhere. From investigating the temporal distortions, to allowing new diplomatic friends to hug him, to making friends with the children on board, to helping new officers find the place among the crew, to mentoring command trainees from quadrants away, to tutoring his XO and CNS in advanced ship’s tactics, James is everywhere. He is always willing to write with anyone and the stories that form are always outstanding. I honestly cannot point to any one thread. Just come take a peek and pick one. You will not be disappointed.

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Manhattan has encountered two unidentified waves of energy that has affected the ship and crew in random ways – some becoming younger, others older, some untouched, and two perishing from it. Each passage of these waves caused a dramatic change in the space around them. One such change brought them inside the territory of a hostile group calling themselves the Crimson Hegemony. At the point of their coming under attack, space changed again. The source of this was a single world at the far end of the sector. Upon approach a buoy declared the system as under ‘temporal quarantine’ and not to approach. The planet, Marilia, responded to a hail from the single city called Tramelorin. Unable to dissuade the Manhattan from staying they were invited down. The Manhattan itself brought herself down under the city shield and holds position there, shielded from any further temporal waves.

Under discussion from three of the Marilians, Priestess There (Ther-ey), Writ Keeper Kela, and Scientist Reauna (Ray-u-na), they have discovered their very universe in in peril. The star of the Marilians had become unstable and the people feared for their existence. Never having pursued space travel (though their technology was superior) they were trapped barring an intervention. That came by means of their scientists devising a way of sending whole cities back in time to the distant past, all at different time periods but linked at both ends by anchor cities. The hope was that even if the First City – Tramelorin – became uninhabited the others would survive and with it their people. Two other cities, Raynata, the farthest city and other anchor, and Bakkalan, home of the Hegemony, have been identified.

In recent years it was found that Bakkalan, not wanting to remain a city along the line, has sought dominance and trying to work technologies to ‘move’ their city out from the line and become the anchor in place of Tramelorin. The problem that became known is that in their sending the cities into the past they didn’t simply create a temporal issue. Each city moved created in itself a whole new universe – each with a focal point link along the energy string that connected the cities through time and space. Were Bakkalan successful in their attempts it would result in the destruction of the universe that Tramelorin was in – and the Manhattan, and Starfleet.

The Manhattan has thus far been gleaning information to put all these bits together and to set their scientific community to work to form a solution, whether it be finding a way to communicate with Bakkalan first, or transport through a Gateway, reputedly one way as none have ever returned, or something else to save the worlds and their existence. Bakkalan seems close to finding a way to leap frog ahead.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: The Manhattan only had 64 posts this month, which is still acceptable, especially around the holiday season. There’s a little red in the roster at the moment, but that should clear up pretty quick. Overall she seems to be plugging along.

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: Kirt Gartner

How is your ship looking overall? We are rebuilding our roster after a number of people have left we have holes but I am attempting to rectify the ship

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. Rebuild the roster and get everything back on track

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Sage Pennington

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The crew of the memorial is deciding what to do with an underground society beneath a long-lost Starfleet Science base. They have to choose between abating the sufferings of the people but leaving them there or risking the wrath of the mysterious autocrats who run the society and attempting a rescue.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: The Memorial had only 19 IC posts for the past thirty days at the time of this report with three department heads being significantly AWOL. This is not acceptable for the Foremost Fleet.

SS Sojourner

Commanding Officer: Nicole Cline

How is your ship looking overall? Sojo is doing well. Everyone seems to be in the grove of the new time line. We gained a linguist and a MACO commander to our roster. And their arrivals have been fun to read. The main sim is moving along though things did slow during the holiday but I foresee that improving.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Anything by Gene. He plays our Eng JO, but he has also created an ENTIRE NE crew for Sojo and it’s really amazing. His NEs have full back stories and roles on the ship. They are active in side and main sims. I can’t link them all here, so please come read anything posted by Gene. It is all amazing!

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I would like to see people engage in their side sims. The main sim is good, but as it kicked off the side sims seemed to drop off. That might have been because of the holidays as well. So I would like to see those side sims find their flow again.

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? It’s been both good and bad. Some are staying very active, while others have definitely slipped well beyond what is reasonable. But at this time I’ve talked with River and we already have a plan in place to get the roster cleaned up.

James Sinclair also joined this past month, right before taking his holiday LOA. So looking forward to getting him involved in the simm.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Same as the DH’s. We have some that have been going above and beyond, Gene and Jennifer for examples. While others have definitely fallen behind. We’ll be working to address these stragglers in the very near future.

Who is the shining star this month? Gene and Jennifer have definitely been going above and beyond. Gene for his side simms with the ships mascot dog, and Jennifer for post bombing the ship with our good Captain. :-D

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Soujuner keeps plodding along this past month! Team one is readying to go cave diving to continue their survey while team two is doing the same. So far nothing nefarious is happening for either group but who knows what will lurk below the surface!

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: The Sojourner had 117 posts in the last thirty days. There are a few outstanding AWOLs that need to be addressed, and one I suspect that should clear up quickly. That being said, she seems to be a healthy, busy ship otherwise.

Overall, the CO’s, XO’s, and GM’s do seem to be involved overall. No report filed for Asimov XO or GM, though our GM promises a full Sim update soon. No report at this time from CO USS Manhattan. No report at this time from XO USS Memorial.

The shining star ship for this month is the U.S.S. Leviathan. I’m really happy and proud of the way the ship has bounced back with Mika and Sage at the helm. I’m glad we made the correct choices there, and they’ve breathed new life into her. I nominate the Leviathan for The Boat That Rocks.
