The Pioneer Fleet Report - November 2018

USS Athena

Commanding Officer: Lindsay Bayes

Crew Posting Level: 4
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Though overall posting is quite low for the Athena, we’re very close to the end of the sim and it has most people’s focus. Along with some absences amongst the crew, side simming is also on the low side, but I suspect that when we reach the end of the sim that will change when we know the outcome of all these crazy events and have the chance to explore how our characters will react to all of it.

I’m working closely with Ian to make sure that the sim continues pushing to its conclusion and that we adapt where necessary to what the players need.

Spotlight: I really want to highlight Hjortur and Melissa this month for continuing to play out the struggles of the med team to keep on top of what has often been an impossible situation for the department. Well done!

The Guardian of forever has been damaged by the plasma blast that helped to stop the Counter Strike Aliens from entering in and further corrupting the timeline.

Agent Rxzyth, a horta has revealed that she and the Guardian are of the same species and that the Guardian was transformed from his horta self into a living machine by the Aegis eons in the past.

As the crew of the Athena rush to save the Guardian and the timeline, others are faced with other challenges as they face having to either reintegrate their past and future selves or come to terms with the fact that one of their “selves” died in the battle.

USS Atlantis

Commanding Officer: Kate O’Neill

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 8

Ship Status: The Atlantis is doing well even though a few changes have occurred. Recently Jeremy DeSpain stepped down as the GM. When he has more time, he will be welcomed back however until he does come back we have several side sims to occupying the crew. The Klingon wedding is open to anyone who wants to join and should prove to b fun and exciting for anyone that wants to RP in it. Several smaller side sims are allowing for character growth as we search for our GM and the holiday season approaches.

Spotlight: My spotlight goes to James Sinclair with his creation of a side sim for the ship. These past two months has been very hectic for me and while I have tried to keep up with all things everywhere, I did fail at times. James, creating a fun, clever, and exciting side sim for the Atlantis, showed that the crew of the Atlantis regardless of rank or position, will step and work to create role-playing experiences for the entire ship when needed. James knew that at times my life was hectic and offered to expand an idea he was developing for his character for the entire ship. I gave him the green light and what he has done with that idea has encouraged many members of the ship to post simply because it the storyline immediately captured the attention of those reading it. Thank you for the chance to let the Atlantis explore all that makes you a great role player.

Ship Status: A reasonable month for the Atlantis despite the fact that we’re without a sim. I was going to take over Jeremy’s GMT for him, but that proved to not be an option after all. Kate and I have come up with a plan going forward until we look for a new GM and for now we’ll just let the crew do what they do best and side sim. There are some larger group threads going on and we’ll have to pay attention to make sure that no one is left out that wants to get involved in some action.

USS Dresden

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Joana Ribeiro

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: The Dresden suffered a little in October with the resignation of two of our crew members, which unfortunately mostly affected the main sim. Aside from that, our current sim has finished and we are starting a new one. We also have two new players joining the crew so I am really hoping that that will make November a better month for the Dresden.

Spotlight: David Bennett and David Robinson Jr for their tour of the ship side sim!

USS Ogawa

Commanding Officer: Cale Reilly

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 5
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: Things are progressing into our new sim with all of our new crew now aboard and making themselves at home. We had some AWOLs and LOAs due to real life but things will pick up as we get more involved on the new sim.

Spotlight: Julia whos charecter always is interesting to read. Brandon Irvine who has jumped right in, i am very excited to see Doctor Walker develop further.

Gamemaster: Lindsay Bayes

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Sim Overview: We just wrapped op our last sim with the discovery that the gastropods are not only psi positive in some way but able to communicate with each other. The male and female were reunited and will be kept together with the eggs until arrangements to return them to their native home near Galorden Core can be made. Meanwhile, the ship continued en route to its assignment. The exploration of the gastropods will continue as a side sim for more important discoveries to be made.

With the opening of Jungles and Empires, the Ogawa finds itself arriving at Carraya IV and are prepared an away team to meet with the clinic staff and arrange the delivery of the hospital module that is to be constructed at the clinic site to help deal with the increasing numbers of Romulan refugees.

Spotlight: Krys really shone in her investigative mode throughout the sim and even as we start the new one she continues to think critically and ask important questions that provide the crew much needed information.

Outpost 42

Commanding Officer: Adam W.

Crew Posting Level: 3
Senior Staff Posting Level: 3
Overall Ship Health: 5

Ship Status: The slowest month I’ve had on the Outpost since I started keeping track at 58 posts. The personal reasons that caused me to vanish in September had me very limited in October. There were other AWOL’s and LOA’s as well that made things slow going.

Jonathan S. was removed from the roster due to inactivity, which leaves the SOO spot vacant. And early in November Krys McLean stepped down from her counselor position. On the plus side, we’ve got a healthy main sim, which the Outpost has been lacking for quite some time.

Spotlight: Liam. Despite a recent lack of activity from the CO and others on the crew, we’ve got what I think is a healthy main sim with solid participation in more than one thread. I’m excited to see where the story takes us.

Executive Officer: Kate O’Neill

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 9
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: The Outpost is doing well. A new main sim by Liam has places to post everywhere with people adding their own creative elements and flair as Liam takes us on his journey. I am very excited to see how it turns out. Jessica is still planning the canoe trip from Hades along the river Styxx which will culminate with all the Who’s from Outpostville singing:

“Fah who for-aze!
Dah who dor-aze!
Welcome Christmas,
Aedan come this way!

Fah who for-aze!
Dah who dor-aze!
Mathias cant just run away.”
