The Foremost Fleet Report - February 2023
USS Ark Angel
Commanding Officer: No report submitted
Executive Officer: Mika Jackson
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Most of our DHs are doing well. Congratulations to Clayton Strong who officially took over as the new CE. Just in time for the new Sim.
I would like to see more activity from DHs in between sims. We need to normalize reaching out to JOs and doing checkins to ensure that JOs remain active. I also am going going to hold myself to this as the XO. I will make it a point to checkin with DHs In between sims to build rapport.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The JOs have been doing pretty good. We need to ensure they stay busy and active in between sims. Going to do some scouting to see if I can bring some new writers to the ship.
Who is the shining star this month? Our shining star this month is our very own Commodore and GM! He worked real hard on our last Sim, which received raving reviews from the crew and has just rolled out a new one for us! Great job Rob!
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: The Ark Angel had 98 IC posts, up from 75 of last month. She seems to be plugging along well and is quite healthy. At the time of this post there are only two AWOLs, on eof which appears to only occurred today. I expect this will clear up shortly. The other is over a thousand days out, and is a new name on the crew. Presumably this is a member coming to the Ark Angel with an old character that hasn’t been seen in a while.
Since last report, the Ark Angel has acquired herself a new Chief Science Officer, and all core Department Heads are filled. It seems she is light on security junior officers by one, though more in all departments are always welcome.
Overall, she looks sharp, as usual.
USS Asimov
Commanding Officer: Sage Pennington
How is your ship looking overall? It’s going strong as the sim continues to progress. We’ve overcome a bit of a hurdle in the form of that planning phase, and now we’re moving on to the action.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? There’s a thread of really genuine connection between the CO and CIO. We’ve reached a real moment that’s tricky for me to respond to, but so so good. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/asimov/posts/203642/
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I would love to increase our rate of posting. It has historically been higher, so I know we can do it. Hopefully this new section of the sim does a little bit for that.
Executive Officer: Riley W
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Some of them are participating in the Main Sim, while others are not keeping up as much. There are also a few side sims active.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We do not have any JOs.
Who is the shining star this month? Shara Calloway has been keeping active quite well and has some interesting things to contribute to the sim.
Gamemaster: James Sinclair
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Asimov, also known as The Rabid Pelican, has docked at The Cloud; a wretched hive of scum and villainy, in order to book passage for some of the crew on a luxury yacht so they can board and aid the Pelican in kidnapping two arms dealers which will in turn ensure (they hope) their admission into the shadowy criminal organization they are trying to destroy.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Riley W has really stepped into the XO spot solidly and is a good motivator for several members of the crew.
FComm’s Comments: Things have cooled off this month on the Asimov with only 63 IC posts. Currently all CO and XO are plugging along, as well as our fantastic GM. All department heads save one are chugging along as well. This tough and tenacious crew keep going.
The Asimov/Pelican and her crew could use more blood to write with, but she is flying along quite well overall. Can’t wait to see the next leg of the Rhino’s sim.
USS Leviathan
Commanding Officer: Mika Jackson
How is your ship looking overall? As of 3/1/2023 there were only two AWOLs. Overall we are in pretty good shape. I am happy to report that I have not had to send any AWOL notices in February and that I am seeing some of the more “inactive” players start to pick up their posting. I am also very happy to say that a number of players have been in touch with me about their AWOL status and have maintained communication on when they will be able to get back to posting.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I am enjoying this spin-off thread created by Chris H. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/leviathan/posts/203807/
First I appreciate the initiative he took in creating a spin-off from the ARU training madness, and second how he put his own creative spin on it.
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I want to improve posting! We are stuck with almost the same exact number of postings each month. I want all the writers on the ship to get up to posting at their normal speed. Now I know this going to take some effort on my part as well. My goal is to start to create stories that everyone can collaborate on and be involved in.
Executive Officer: Sage Pennington
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The board is mostly green, save one AWOL among the DHs. Everyone has something going on.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Also a single AWOL among the JOs, everyone else is active and engaged.
Who is the shining star this month? Our new CTO, played by Shaun Tee.
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: The Leviathan had 124 IC posts this month, just a little less than last month. But she seems healthy, despite a little red in the roster. I imagine these will clear up quickly. Otherwise the CO and XO are doing an bang-up job. The rest of the department heads are holding steady, and it looks like there’s plenty going on aboard the Levi. She’s a little low on Junior Officers across the board. The Leviathan is one of the most interesting and unique ships in the fleet, and are always investigating the strange, weird, and oh just the teensy tiny ‘occasional’ cosmic horror. If this sounds interesting, feel free talk to Sage or Mika.
USS Manhattan
Commanding Officer: James Sinclair
How is your ship looking overall? Overall we are steady, despite some personnel losses in the DH realm. 106 posts for last month is a solid increase in activity, and the Main sim is starting to pick up a little.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The Main Sim arrival of the ‘bad guys’( are they? Im still not so sure.) was a great intro on Wookie’s part.
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I want to see the roster fully staffed. We need a CE and CSO, and those roles have a lot to do.
Executive Officer: Jennifer Ward
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our DHs are participating in the main sim. We have a few side Sims going on as well. We are currently in need if a new Chief Engineer.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have added a returning eng jo and a new diplomatic attaché. They ate doing well and hopped right into the fray of our main sim with ease. I am excited to see what they do with it. Their boarding threads have been fun to watch.
We need jo’s in all departments.
Who is the shining star this month? James, hands down. Alex Cochrane is such an amazing character. And for as intimidating as a man with his experience and reputation is, he is the kind of captain we all want the opportunity to follow.
He is giving his XO and civilian counselor some much needed ship combat and tactics training and it is just so well done.
https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/manhattan/posts/204585/
Also his handling of the sudden army that appeared in the main sim is just an excellent example of his experience and leadership.

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs
Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The firefight is over and the negotiations with the Bakkalians continued but with shock and amazement to both sides. Each side, the Bakkalians and Marilians, feel the way to save their city and in effect, universe/dimension, was the right way, balked at the others’ proposals and cited that the others actions would destroy everything. Through the negotiations from the Captain and others of the crew it was determined that a truce would be wise and for each to come together to determine the truth - if it could be determined - by studying the old library records relating to the Machine. The month ends with the group ready, if leary of one another, to proceed to investigate the library records.
Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? James, our good CO, was a good contributor to keeping things on track.
FComm’s Comments: So the Manhattan had 119 IC posts this month, a significant increase from 79 of last month. Looks like there was some new blood on the ship this month too. Only one AWOL at the time of this report which I’m sure will straighten out nicely. An LOA or two on the roster, but nothing to complain about.
Currently the Manny is looking for a Chief Engineer and a Chief Science Officer, and it looks like both have plenty to do, especially mopping up after the latest events on the ship. Reach out to James “Rhino” Sinclair or Jennifer “Kelpie” Ward for more info. As always, Junior Officers are needed too and very much the lifeblood of any ship. Both are great writers, and I promise they don’t bite.
USS Memorial
Commanding Officer: Kirt Gartner
How is your ship looking overall? we have been rebuilding the roster and have some very good new players eager to get their characters into some action and development however for that we need a GM which we are still missing but we are on the hunt for someone to take that role
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Get ourselves a GM and get a main sim going asap
Executive Officer: Clayton Strong
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?I am still learning all the DHs but the CMO has been working with me for my phsyical eval for arrival. I sim with her on a few different ships. The other Dhs have been busy with real life so they haven’t been able to post as much.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? From what I have seen, the JOs are doing well. There are currently only a few JOs on this ship. Still trying to watch interactions of the few JOs we do have. I am hoping to make some progress with getting some more folks on the ship.
Who is the shining star this month? Who is the shining star this month? I have enjoyed getting to read what Mika and Nathan been writing for their characters.
On a side note:
Overall, I am still getting use to being in an XO position as this is my first. Getting all the normal new ship things taken care of. I’m hoping to be alot more involved with everything going on and reading more posts. I have a ton to learn but ready for the task.
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: The Memorial had 69 posts this last month, a very slight dip from 71. Nothing to fear, she is keeping her head above water much better now. There’s a bit more red in the roster at this time than I care for. This, I am guilty of as well, but will rectify once this report is filed. (Rough week, stuff just got away from me.) It seems to be going around. Rough waters smooth out eventually though. On a positive note, new blood brings new life, and overall things are moving along. There are a number of sidesims going on, and I hope more coming, including one from our mysterious and aloof security chief.
The Memorial is currently looking for a Game Master to take us back to the stars, but in the meantime, the crew can stretch their legs and get into their own shenangians.
SS Sojourner
Commanding Officer: Nicole Cline
How is your ship looking overall? Sojo is looking decent for this month, I am happy to have filled the CoS position as well as Linguist. Our main sim could be moving along a little faster but I am happy to see some great side sim activity.
What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I loved this scene with Helena training with the MACOs and Baumann’s comments towards her. It was hilarious! https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/sojourner/posts/203865/
I also wanted to highlight this thread, in which Grey berates Helena for overdoing her exercises. It was a fun read. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/sojourner/posts/201246/
Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I think my focus next month should be getting the main sim moving. I would like to get the two teams communicating and figure out how to move forward. I’m also working on replacing our CE.
Executive Officer: Steve Johnson
How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We did have to make some changes to the DH list this past month, with parting ways with James Gray. Otherwise the DH’s have performed great this past month.
How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Finally got around to some roster cleanup on the JO’s. Still have a little bit left to do, but we seem to have gotten the core group down. Now we are ready to expand the crew on the Sojourner!
Who is the shining star this month? Welcome to the Sojourner Katy! She has already come in swinging, and it has been great having her join the ship!
Gamemaster: No report submitted
FComm’s Comments: 277 posts for the month, wow! Crazy numbers for the Sojourner, up two more from last month. There must be something in the water supply over there! Nicole and Steve are hitting it out the park. There is a little more red in the roster than I’d like or expect for that many posts. A couple I suspect will straighten out just because they haven’t gotten to posting yet. The remainder though… Overall, I have nothing to complain about, save as usual, the Sojo could use more JO’s but overall she is doing very well. If you love Enterprise Era Starfleet, this is a great ship to be on as Earth’s exploration of space is just getting out there. If you’re interested, feel free to reach out to Captain or XO, both are great folks and they’ll happily help you find a home, or at least a bunk.
Final Thoughts: The command teams of all ships are doing great. Everybody is posting and engaged for the most part. There are no unexcused fleet reports. Roach did not file for the Ark Angel, but requested beforehand and I approved. Hope things are better for you next month. As for the shining star this month, that would be the Sojourner.
Looking forward to what next month brings. And as always, don’t be afraid to reach out to me if you need something.
