The Foremost Fleet Report - March 2023

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Mika Jackson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have had some AWOL DHs over the last month. A big shout out to Clayton, Ray, and Kieron for keeping up with posting and staying within AWOL limits. We are currently moving into a new sim so I expect to see DHs posting a lot more and setting good examples for their cadets.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?It has been a great recruiting month for the Ark Angel! A big shot out to our ship’s Commander Rob. He has brought in all the new JOs! As of the date this report was filed all the JOs are showing green on the board. Good job!

Who is the shining star this month? Our ship’s Commanding Officer Rob deserves the spotlight this month. He recruited the new JOs, ran the ship’s sim, and managed to stay on top of all this after an injury to his hand.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Ark Angel had 123 posts in the last thirty days, which is a significant jump in activity. Currently the ship seems healthy, though there’s a little red in the roster. I expect that to clear up quickly. Applause all around for getting most of the JO holes filled. It seems the AA is still short on engineering JO’s, but otherwise, awesome work all around.

CO and GM reports excused on account of injury.

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Sage Pennington

How is your ship looking overall? We have a couple holes in the roster I would love to see filled, but I’m working on it.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The conclusion of the thread with Shara and Sara really made me feel like some character growth had occurred. That’s always a good feeling.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Fill in the roster.

Executive Officer: Riley W

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?I believe the DH’s are doing fairly well. I was fairly sick for a full half of this month so I wasn’t paying as much attention as I maybe should have. We’ve got one or two who haven’t been participating much, but the rest seem to be doing plenty in both main sim and side sims.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have no JOs.

Who is the shining star this month? Lindsay continues to do great work writing Shara Calloway. She’s quite the character, and I enjoy reading the stuff she gets up to.

Gamemaster: No report submitted, not excused.

FComm’s Comments: The Asimov continues to be on a cooling trend with 57 posts (Down from 63). The ship is mostly green, save for one significant AWOL. I will have to speak with that particular crew member directly. The ship is currently light on crew. While all critical roles are fulfilled, save for a Chief Science Officer, we do need more junior officers. There’s a lot to do on this “little” ship.

USS Leviathan

Commanding Officer: Mika Jackson

How is your ship looking overall? Today (04/02/2023) the ship is green…YAY! I have had to chase down a few writers and inquire about their AWOL status. I lost my CMO, but I think I have one in the works. Also communicating with a writer who is potentially interested in filling the Containment Architect role. I will say I am slightly disappointed in the number of posts we have this month…just under a hundred, I think. However, I have seen some good participation from a few players on the ship.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I have three favorite moments! My first is Chris H.’s character Lieutenant Thenis’ reaction when she is attacked by an infected crew member on her way to the science labs: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/leviathan/posts/203538/ I enjoyed reading that moment.
My second favorite moment is when Shaun T.’s character Lieutenant Gworl had to fire a warning shot at the Captain to stop her from opening the airlock because she was infected with the mysterious virus: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/leviathan/posts/206407/
My final favorite moment is when Lieutenant Witney, Lori Miller’s character shows up in sickbay and takes charge since most of the command staff is either infected or missing: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/leviathan/posts/208193/

Congratulations to all three of these players for participating in the sim and helping to move things along.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I want more posts! Hopefully, I can get more of the writers involved in the sim on the ship. I want to see creative stories. I think the challenge with a PRSim ship is that people are used to the GM contributing to the events and running the show, so they tend to hold back on their creativity and look for someone to provide direction on where to jump in. I am like This is PRSim ship! Jump in anywhere, write, and be creative!

Executive Officer: Sage Pennington

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The DHs are keeping busy. The unusual sim structure of the Leviathan makes it perhaps easier to engage because all sims were created equal in a prsim environment.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We don’t have many JOs, but those we have are posting well.

Who is the shining star this month? It’s hard to say, the whole crew has put in effort to bring the ship back from the brink.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Leviathan has cooled off this month with 84 IC posts (Down from 124 last month). Ouch, there’s a lot more red on the Levi than I would like to see. But it seems like Mika is already on the ball with that. Hopefully she’ll have a CMO soon as well. The Leviathan could use a couple more scientific minds for experimentation er .. study. And maybe one or two engineers to build a better ghost trap, or at least help manage the ones they have. Just don’t get caught building unlicensed particle accelerators.

That pesky GM keeps disappearing. No excuses! (That’s a joke And so am I.)

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

How is your ship looking overall? The Manhattan is still plugging along. We didn’t meet or exceed out posting numbers from last month, but only fell short by 16 posts. That being said, I do miss the consistent hundred posts a month we had last year. We are still moving forward slowly on the main sim, and we may have some new writers coming on board to fill the vacancies we have in the DH arena.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The interaction between the new Diplomat and the CO was entertaining.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.More. Posting.

That is essential. But even beyond that, I want to see the crew engaged and excited again.

Executive Officer: Jennifer Ward

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our DHs are not as active as I wish but James and I are working with them. We are down a CE and CSO, but we have found replacements and are just waiting for character bios so we can add our new crew to the roster.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our nee JOs have really settled into their spots and are really providing a lot of detail to our Sim and their own stories. We can still use JOs in all departments.

Who is the shining star this month? Everyone has been incredible this month. Really stepping up and adding to the stories happening.

I have to say though that this thread from Linds https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/manhattan/posts/204724/ has really tugged my heart strings. The counselors son is spending the day with the XO, and he is just an adorable kid. Watching him deal with the huge life changing finalities happening around him is just emotionally moving.

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: With a truce and offer of mutual cooperation holding, Reauna has taken the representative of a sister city, Zoon of Bakkalia, and Federation personnel into the library to look at the blueprints for the ‘Machine’ - the device that the ancient Builders devised and which sent six cities into the past to preserve their civilization - and hopefully to seek a clue as to what may resolve the conflicting aims of the two cities. The problem being that each ‘aim’ would in the others eyes see the destruction of the parallel universes. Is there a solution? Perhaps we shall see, but in the meantime there is a persnickety power drain happening on the Manhattan that is unexplained for now.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? I am enjoying Riley W’s Galdori presentation - a small cat like individual with big personality.

FComm’s Comments: The Manhattan only had 78 IC posts this month (Down from 119 of last month). Otherwise, she seems healthy and is pretty green across the board with one minor exception that should clear up without issue. While the core department heads are filled, the Manhattan is in need of some security muscle, and medical. She also needs a little more hands in engineering and in the science labs. With an excellent command team, including our illustrious wookiee, and a boatload of good writers, you should definitely come do a cruise on the ship.

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: No report submitted, not excused.

Executive Officer: No report submitted, not excused.

Gamemaster: No report submitted, excused - New to ship.

FComm’s Comments: The Memorial only had 45 IC posts this last month (Down from 69 last month) on a significant cooling trend. Despite this, the roster is all green, and the crew is posting decently. For a slow ship she’s acceptable. however, Kudos to our resident weasel for klepping a GM from the clutches of retirement. Emily S. has returned to Star-Fleet as our glorious Game Master. The new sim has already kicked off, and I, for one, am quite excited as to what the devious Mother Hen will throw at this most august ship and crew.

The Memorial is in need of science, medical, and engineering JO’s. This is the prefect time to rotate some crew aboard as she sets off on her next voyage into the great unknown.

SS Sojourner

Commanding Officer: No report submitted, not excused

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Overall the ship is doing okay. Things have slowed down due to RL issues with the CO and GM. The DH’s are doing a good job of keeping things moving while we can.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our list of JO’s has been doing adequate this past month. It would be nice to add a few new players to their roster soon.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: No report submitted, excused due to injury.

FComm’s Comments: The Sojourner had 89 IC posts (Down from 277 of last month.) It seems to have been a flash in the pan. The ship is green across the board otherwise. One of the first of her kind, the Sojourner continues on her journey. But to make the dream of exploring the stars in the early days, it takes many brave souls. Light on crew, the Sojo could use more hands in all departments. Will you chart that new system, make that new thing that impacts engineering for decades, help cure that disease nobody’s ever seen before? Come. Join them, won’t you?

The Ark Angel is The Boat that Rocks this month. However, I would like to spotlight Kirt Garner. This has been a rough month for him, but despite this, he hasn’t wavered from the ship and crew. He’s sourced a great GM for the ship, and is looking for additional mentorship and initiative with the Memorial.
