USS Atlantis

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The crew has learned that the same energy from the Genesis device is radiating off the piece of debris the Atlantis pulled onboard from the missing Federation ship 200 years ago.

The Away team is running scans to see if the radiation is present on the surface of the plant like it is on the piece of debris.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Jen Ward. It is tough at times to get a counselor into a main sim like this but she seamlessly and effortlessly writes a character that is versatile, creative, intriguing, and believable. Good job Jen. Keep it up. You excel at being a Department Head with your ability to engage the crew and engage in the ship’s overall story.

USS Chimera

How is your ship looking overall? Overall we are okay. I do still need some DHs and JOs though, I think once we have a few more people onboard it’ll be easier for everyone to keep active.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I’m enjoying the latest character developments among our marines, particularly Travis Good’s character, even though it’s not necessarily a “good” thing, it’s definitely dramatic, which makes for a good read.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Recruitment with a capital R is the name of my game. We have a GM in place, set to begin later this month.

FComm’s Comments: FComm: The Chimera has found a GM and a sim start date later this month :) Kat is actively searching for someone to fill the CE and CSO positions.

USS Ogawa

Commanding Officer: Lindsay B

How is your ship looking overall? The changes continue with our Chief of Psychiatry stepping down and we’ve promoted within (and are just doing so IC right now). Congrats to Lori! The main sim is moving along, if slowly, due to LOAs and some absences, but we’re making progress. James is getting his new XO settled in and we have different side sims going on. Overall, I’m happy with where things are at. While the ship felt slower at times in May, we still had over 400 posts! So really not much to worry about.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I am really loving D Inman’s CE character. Maria is young and new to the role, but has interesting insights even when she thinks she’s being awkward. I am enjoying this character’s conversation with the troubled CO, for whom wandering her own ship is a bit of a test due to recent traumatic events.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I would love to see some more JOs filing out the rest of the departments, but it’s not urgent. But more than that we are still trying to corral the main sim a little and hopefully that will have more people involved in June.

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?The vast majority of the DH’s are active and participating in the Main Sim, although we have a couple of stragglers who aren’t in the main sim but are active in side sims.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Some few AWOLs here and there, but all mostly active.

Who is the shining star this month? D Inman has done a magnificent job of making sure the Engineers are all, active and engaged; participating in both side sims and the Main. And a lot of fun to write with, too!

FComm’s Comments: FComm: The Ogawa’s board is active, despite a few AWOLs on the roster. However, the Ogawa is still looking good :)

Fleet Command Overall: The Pioneer Fleet is continuing to see an issue with AWOLS (with a few above the 10-day mark). We understand RL takes priority, but when someone is habitually on LOA or AWOL, it might be time to find a replacement. We’ve also noticed that in the past there would be multiple candidates for a DH position, but now CO/XOs have to reach out to multiple people in hopes that someone says yes. Ogawa is this month’s shining star. Linds and James have done a great job with keeping the Ogawa active and everyone engaged. Also, I do want to applaud Kat for her hard work with the Chimera despite not having a GM for a considerable amount of time :).
