The Black Fleet Report - May 2023

USS Europa

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: I’m really very concerned with the Europa’s health. Both the XO and GM were lost and most of the crew are AWOL including the CO. Despite advertising everywhere for a GM no leads have yet been found. If anyone is at all available to help with GMing please reach out to me.

USS Genesis

Commanding Officer: Luke Hung

How is your ship looking overall? MAIN SIM (CO run - No GM) The sim is moving along with a new twist. People are being beamed off the ship the moment they start to solve the problem of where the missing crew are going. The CE has been beamed to a non-disclosed location and now an engineering ensign has gone missing. Only time will tell if they are in the same place.

The bridge has discovered that the beaming signal was hidden in the TOR. THe CIO is trying to find the needle in the haystack about the origin of the signal in hopes it might let them find the missing crew.

SIDE SIMS-
Several side sims are continuing this month. Most are fun posts with character development for several of the crew.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Ensign Kylie Brecker written by D Imman has given us a glimpse of her character’s backstory during her check-in posts. It will be a great read to find out where her demons lie and if she can quell them.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Hire some JO’s. Find a GM

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The Genesis lost their GM last month and this has impacted the ship health despite Luke’s valiant efforts to CO & GM. If anyone would like to help out and relieve Luke of that burden please reach out to me.

USS Merrimack

Commanding Officer: David Fergusson

How is your ship looking overall? How is your ship looking overall? After the loss of two DHs last month, the loss of my XO due to illness was most concerning. However, the hiccup is over and the positions are all now filled again. How are they working out? Still early days but everything is looking good. There continues to be quite a lot of real-life issues and sickness but we manage to deal with that and don’t currently have any AWOLs. The Sim however, has hardly progressed from last month. On the Bridge, the crew are wrestling with the approach of a comet that Warped into the system and therefore assume some nefarious reason. On the planet, a small party lead by the CE is visiting the mines, while the rest are in the village, either taking blood and water samples, or meeting with the elders. Still grappling with the puzzles that have been set.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Nothing this month.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I simply wish to get things running smoothly once more.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Merrimack lost its XO this last month but as I am sure Dave will relate he quickly got a replacement with my former XO’s player on the Ark Angel coming over with my blessing to help out here. Sim wise the Merrimack ship crew are studying by probe a strange massive alien artifact in another system. Planet side the engineering crew are helping at the local mines, science and medical are sampling the locals and learning ways to help them and about the strange symbiotic parasite, while the CO is meeting with the High Elder councilors of the natives.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: The Merrimack is rocking along nicely. They’re up in posting by about half compared to last month. The XO is a recent addition and exempt from reporting this month.

Oed V

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

How is your ship looking overall? The colony is still humming along, although we saw a noticeable drop in posts from the previous months. But 555 posts is still far beyond normal for a healthy setting so I am NOT going to complain!

The Vren have arrived, so there is ample opportunity for the colony managers and citizens to get involved in that, as well as a myriad number of side sims and such going on.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? There is so much going on, I would be hard pressed to find a favorite moment!

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I want to see far fewer AWOLs and the actual members of the colony directorship getting more involved. This has been somewhat of an issue before, and we need more involvement from those who have larger roles so they can lead more PRISMs.

Executive Officer: Lindsay B

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? It’s been a slower month for us (about half the number of posts we’ve had the last few month, but we still had over 500 posts! Lots of RL stuff is affecting who is around and participating and how much progress we’re making in PRSIMs. With the Vren having arrived though, action is going to pick up on a larger level. We’re hoping the senior staff and cabinet members will be active in the gala thread starting soon.

Meanwhile, we’ve had new people join with Starfleet characters (and secondary characters in one case) and that’s generating check-ins threads that are keeping people busy in addition to whatever other stories they are writing.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Activity has dropped here as well, and the Vren PRSIM isn’t involving the others so much at this time. Most are doing their own thing though.

Who is the shining star this month? River and Matt E have been getting his character settled in and it’s been great to read. Jenn and James have a beautiful but sad thread about the loss of a baby (Worrisome Complications) that if you feel up to reading, you definitely should! And I’m loving the ongoing plotting by our resident spies. Lots of different things going on around here!

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Oed is still cruising along well. A few AWOLs among the crew and posting has halved but overall activity is still heads above the average.

USS Wolverine

Commanding Officer: Ray Branch

How is your ship looking overall? We’re not in an extremely bad place at the moment :) GM is on LOA so we’re focusing on character development!

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.LOAs & AWOLS are something Dave and I are going to look into for the remainder of June. We don’t expect everyone to have STF as a top priority, but we also want to make sure everyone is abiding by their commitment.

Executive Officer: David Shotton

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Aside from a few awols and slow posting as the school year rounds out, the Wolverine has gone well. With the coming holidays I forsee more activity on the ship and catching up on stories.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The JO’s are writing well on the Wolverine, active and keeping the threads ticking over.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: GM is LOA due to a move so report is excused. Ship has slowed a bit as stated by the CO & XO but overall health still looks good. I’ll be watching to see if things pick up this next month.
